Shaggy Next Gen Part 1 (Velma talk) 

This was so much fun to finally talk about ive had to idea for yrs but never really put a ton of thought into it but Velma was so bad I just had to say something and show what a possible new franchise related media could look like im try and get the base story line down and maybe actually do something with it XD

Even if she is technically an OC, she already managed to stomp and crush Mindy's Velma

She looks really good a perfect mix of original ideas and references of what came before. Unrelated but it would be funny if Shaggy told the story of how he fell in love with an alien (because that’s one of my favorite scooby doo movies) and not only is Hazel the only on who believes him but she finds an old picture of him and his wife who looks suspiciously similar to the alien in the story so Hazel thinks “oh my god I’m part alien” and could be one of the reasons for her belief in the paranormal. It would at least create some funny moments between her and the other characters.

I’ve heard from professionals in the Industry that studios don’t want anything new, they want the same thing over and over again. Creativity is really stifled and nostalgia is being profited. That’s why we got Velma, another tread im seeing in animated shows is how woke and meta and self aware they are. Also Hazel is adorable, I can’t wait to see the rest of the designs, you always kill it. Except with velvet LOL

I LOVE HAZEL SO MUCH. Considering how Shaggy could run while holding Scooby and in a version or two i recall him having or being offered a spot on a track team i think this is an AMAZING approach to a descendent of his!

It’s really sad how a fanfic art oc has more love and passion for the original show than the show actually produced by the company and has spent millions of dollars on it

I really love your design of Hazel 😊😊. I think the reason why Norville is simping for Velma is because she is his first friend he ever had, but even though Velma uses him as a toy, he will choose her over anything besides his parents.

I like to image that due to Hazel competitive nature, she and Shaggy have all you can eat contests nearly all the time. Hazel has NEVER be able to get close to beating Shaggy.

Been waiting for this moment. I seriously love the idea that Hazel is a descendant of Shaggy and how she inherited the Mystery Machine! I want to hear more of this, I am invested!

I already love that her personality is based off of Lance from Voltron, he was my favorite character and honestly I wish he was my friend, but Hazel is so pretty and can't wait for the other next gen characters! Also, I do agree with making old movies into live action, just let our childhood stay that way and move on with other things! And Velma getting another season, WHY?!

I love how you not only ''race swapped'' Shaggy but also ''gender swapped'' him as well and still made a better character than Norville XD having the gang be descendants of the original gang is a much better idea than having them actually be the gang (hence the quotes) I can't wait to see what's next! And if you ever decide to do anything with them, I love helping other artists 👀🤣

This is absolutely amazing! I like the idea of there being at least one descendant of the original mystery gang. Shaggy and Velma were my favorite characters, and it was a crime of what happened to them in HBO Max's Velma.

Hazel is what Norville really should've been. Also maybe wait a few weeks if you wanna use the spoiler version of the owl house

I agree with being tired of all the reboots/remakes like it only works if people try to make something good quality with it and stick to the original vibe as much as possible (like Puss in Boots 2) That said, Hazel looks so cool! I think you did an amazing job balancing the athletic wear with the boho aesthetic

Few things I wanna say. 1.Hazel looks amazing, she kinda remind me of my Axolotl stoner OC, Liz 2.honestly Velma probably should’ve done what you idea, with them being the descendants of Scooby gang rather then a origin 3.Velma in of its self is a weird show, I’ve watched bad shows where it seems like they didn’t try at all, I’ve watched bad shows where I can say “yeah it’s bad but at least they tried” but Velma seems like it’s TRYING to be BAD on purpose. like watch finale, you can’t write something THAT poorly on accident 4.what’s your opinion on the Owl House finale

I really love that you decided to go with more original characters route rather than redesigning the original cast. I'm gonna be quite frank if tv networks are going to bring back old shows for nostalgia they could just make a new story out of it, like the descendants fo the Mystery gang becoming the Mystery gang of the modern era. This way people can still feel the lovely nostalgia without it being tainted by bad writing or something, while also giving the fans something fresh and new. Although if I'm being honest as nice as it is to see shows coming back like Monster High and such, we should still make way for new and interesting shows, instead of relying on the old. There are tons of to-be show creators with very unique ideas for shows that could become the next big thing. TLDR: TV networks really need to start being more original with their ideas and promote original shows rather than bringing back old classic shows.

Okay this needs to be a show

I think when something that doesnt really deserve to be rebooted gets rebooted its just... such a drag. There are definitely shows that I feel should get rebooted because they were undeservedly cut short or canceled (like disney's motorcity and adult swim's moral orel) but those rarely get touched. Occasionally they do, like clone high, and I'm grateful for that. but that is so far and few in between

Mindy's concept outfit actually looks nice

I genuinely wished that they put more effort into putting something interesting in the show BUT I like the idea of a new generation of the Mystery Inc. and it would in my opinion be AWESOME! I love how you made these kinds of stuff and it makes me more interested to see how far this goes. I love it!

You did a FANTASTIC job with Hazel. I love that you gave her the eyes and fit that make her personality. Character design is about how you make the character have a personality by visual and u are amazing at it in general. I honestly love this better than the Hazbin redesigns if I am being honest but that's on everyone to decide lol.

Hazel looks amazing! And personally I say keep the Bye Hunter cuz I'm really attached to him and it feels iconic at this point. Though others may feel different.

I didn't expect this character design to be a completely different new character, because most people are just designing modern versions of old characters, I really like this change, and her design and backstory look very consistent with the world, can't wait to see the other members! BTW I think the end of the film can be replaced with Haffy’s animation or chibi, because every time we see her at the beginning of the film, I think it will be very cute❤❤

I’m glad you agreed with the Velma art style lol Also, I feel like one thing Velma could’ve fixed (aside from numerous things) is making it take place in the 70s-80s like Mystery Inc. since not only is it getting popular (ST for example) but it can be a nod to 70s-80s horrors (More personal on my side but I just hate when old shows get TikTokified if you know what I mean) But yeah, Hazel looks really good and pretty!

The design looks so cool and it would be really interesting to see this as a series because so much could be done with the characters and their personalities and the scooby doo feel. I’m very excited to see the other designs. Personally I feel like hazel would kinda end up being the Fred of the group which is interesting

Hazel looks so freaking cute and adorable that I being speechless on how she looks. 😶 is it wrong I can imagine her having a Sporty theme Alien Plushy with a side of ufo plushy in her arms. 😅 Also I can’t wait to see who shall replace Velma as I hope they are a book worm or a cartoon loving person that have a vibe of Dexter if he was a fan of comics than scientific factor. I can see her having shaggy's power that he has. I see her one day getting mad at something and a lot of things fly off the shelves or out of the cabinets and everyone in the room confused including her on what happened and later on she and her friends find out she has powers. Probably be shooking to the new fans but fun to old fans but none the less fun 😌

If this was a show. The show could follow this new mystery gang as there a monster in the town and it killing the residents. Second you mention that shaking with the Mexico the series could take place in new Mexico where a lot of creepy and paranormal things happen. The series could have the monsters be real and one from the past that the original gang had to deal with is now back

Hello, I really like your design of Hazel, she looks great, but I just cannot help myself and have some nitpick about the volleyball stuff. To my knowledge there is nothing such as a server role. There is obviously a server position, but usually almost everyone serves. She can be a serve specialist and substitute for people who serve weaker, but her role would probably still be a hitter/defence specialist? (take this with a grain of salt, I might not remember it correctly, there is a language barrier and its definitely not a big deal)? Secondly, the arm sleeves are bit too short to really do anything significant. They are worn mainly for extra protection, so receiving the ball would not sting as much and so you would not get burnt when you fall or need to slide on floor to receive the ball. The sleeves should ideally cover your entire forarm and elbow. Finally, thats just really me-thing, but because she is so tall, the role of blocker would suit her better than "server"/hitter, as she would have a great reach. Also tall people are not usually as agile as shorter people, so she would not be the best in defence. There is obviously nothing wrong with the character, those are just nitpicks that do not change anything, I just wanted to shere my two cents on the matter. 😅

You should keep the hunter one the. Switch to the spoiler one after some time, since some people probably haven't seen it yet Also I love hazel like holy shit ❤❤❤

If I wanted to make an adult Scooby-Doo series, it should have that element of passing the torch. Except, the gang was seen as annoying meddlers back in Crystal Cove, and everyone who lived there would celebrate their riddance. While the gang's next step in their mystery-solving is moving to a more creepier, and horrific location, where they meet all the untrustworthy strangers and wildlife. Scooby, as always, would be concerned about their new home, that's when something scary happens which would give the dog, (drumroll) a PANIC ATTACK! Hear me out, Scooby-Doo was known as the cowardly Great Dane and might've accurately portrayed real-life breeds with that feeling. And it's up to him to solve his own mystery and conquer his fear, to which he would eventually unmask the monster! As for side stories, Fred is the confident but paranoid leader who just gets in people's ways, and finds himself the true love interest in the town, while dealing with his obsession with ONLY The Mystery Machine. Have Velma be the obnoxious know-it-all that also reveals she's never graduated college, takes credit from other people, and be exposed for stealing jokes from better female comedians, and lose her sense of reality with her theories. Make Daphne the curious woman who just likes to liven things up in a gritty town, and make friends when they start to get to know her and the gang. And, have Shaggy being laid laid-back man who'll be kind of a food critic. And sometimes, in a dire situation, he calms his dog down whenever he has the previously mentioned panic attacks, and will understand him more about his true fears. I would call it, Scooby-Doo: A New Case! What do you think?

Oh hello there! i love the oc's desigh so much and i also got into scooby doo franchise by vhs tapes my dad used to buy them for me when i was little and i would watch it all the time ..the witch's ghost was one movie we had on the vhs tapes and we also had the pup named Scooby doo on the vhs as well :3 Then we got cable tv and thats where i watched the original scooby doo where are you and the other series as well :3 Iam huge scooby doo nerd too

I didn't mind Ekko's dreadlocks cause it is different from the basic buzzcut and Gus having a fade is a popular hairstyle among young boys, especially ones that attend school with strict rules. However, you can give the boys cornrows, long and short dreadlocks (They could tie the hair into a ponytail, pigtails or let them down in some episodes) buzzcut, or fade with a cool line running through.

Tbh I could see Hazel being given Nutella, which is Hazelnut spread.

OKAY! So finally checked this out and Hazel is so amazing! I love that instead of her having Shaggy’s more stoner/chill behaviour she’s this super action-y person and can punt someone if needed too cause of volleyball I can honestly say this is an amazing character! she’s cute, she gets pretty much the ancestry of Shaggy rogers, and pretty much the most interesting character that potentially brings into her gang! I think it’s nice your going to try drawing a dog for the next gen gang cause in my mind I was thinking about if you were thinking of doing another animal and in my mind having a dog still be what will make the next gen gang similar to shaggy’s gang is just perfect ❤

Maybe instead of a mystery show this version could be the characters doing a more finding themselves kinda thing, and like a lot of drama cause maybe they don't really know each other. (I mean they probably see each other a lot, but with how different thier personalitys are, they probably didn't really mesh at first)

Fun little thing to know. You mentioned Fred giving the Mystery Machine to Shaggy in this story and I thought you would like to know that Shaggy is actually the owner of the Mystery Machine. A few of the more recent series’ have Fred as the owner, but Shaggy owns it in older ones and also in Shaggy And Scooby Doo Get A Clue.

There is also the possibility of making a fan series as independent artist and animators but idk how well that would work. But then again these characters aren’t necessarily the gang just color coded like them so if the plot is different enough I could defo be an og series (like helluva boss or smth idk). A gain tho it would cost more than a few souls to satan to get the money to produce that(I think) anyway I’m ranting and probably don’t even understand what I’m saying. I’m sorry if this isn’t coherent!! But you’ve got me buzzing w/ creativity so thank you!!

I figured it was only a matter of time before you start redesign the Mystery Gang, funnily enough I did a next gen for them too because I felt that's what Velma was aiming for somehow. (However I made them their children instead of great-grand children but your idea is awesome too!) I just need to point out how I love Hazel's obsession with aliens considering Crystal (at 5:04) is an alien and she was a love interest of Shaggy. Another nod of what could've been! To be honest, I would watch such an animated series about them. And I like your videos. I emphasize from them what is important for the creation of characters.
