Luka himself said postgame that Shai is one of the best players in the world and was too much for them. Respect. Maybe some of his little fanboys in the comments could learn something from their guy.
Bro you act like because luka said shai is a great player(which he is) that luka fans have to just bow down and say shai is better😂. Canada has like 5 real nba players. Luka is playing with foreman, plumbers, and steelworkers. Luka does need to stop complaining tho. But luka is also the better player.
real nba players tells me all i need to know about you, if ypu , made it to the nba you're a real player ... every player has to adjust to a role on a nba team. Most players are waybetter tham the role they have to adapt too@@AP90x
@@skuzzlebutt9745 right cause his ejection last year has some kind of connection with the one he got yesterday. You watch how sga gets calls when he drives and initiates contact? Yet luka does the same and does not get the same call. These fiba refs see a player put his hands up and calls tech 😂 foh with that bs
@@jmrayos9930yeap exactly. It’s so obvious Luka getting that LeBron treatment. Literally gets hit in the arm several times and almost never gets a call. Refs really can ruin the game.
You didn’t let Doncic finish what he said in the rest of the interview ,he said he lots of respect for Brooks and his game. Canada was better and we all know it
Who cares about Olympics? This is the world cup of basketball. I think FIBA is the oldest and prestigious basketball tournament in the world. It is the first world tournament than olympics. Olympics is just overhype because there so many sports event for athletes around the world but only few countries represent in basketball event. FIBA had 32 countries on the event. It's the biggest. FIBA world cup is the best event in basketball. Period. FIFA - football FIBA - basketball
@@politicfrogeverything u just said is wrong lmao in basktball the Olympics is the highest level international tournament and no the first Olympics basketball games was in 1936 the fiba World Cup didn’t start until 1950 do some research
Can convince Murray to play? He is very dedicated to the national team. He even showed up for the training camp this fall, but wound up not playing in the tournament due to physical issues. As everyone knows, he had a bad injury a couple of years ago and it took him a while to recover. If he's healthy, he will definitely be playing in Paris.
I'm from Hamilton, Ontario, kinda crazy to think SGA was playing Canadian HS basketball not too long ago. There are 11 or 12 guys on this Canadian Roster from Toronto or the GTHA (Toronto, Hamilton, Mississauga, Brampton, Vaughn, etc.), its basically Team Toronto. Edit, lol at all the Hamilton haters, it's 35 minutes away guys. Americans don't care about where Hamilton is or what boroughs are from actual Toronto. I was generalizing.
You are going too far with your geography. That is a giant amount of space you are covering. Like if we were in England that would be half the country. Hamilton is not Toronto.
@manguy2000 dude I can be in Toronto in 35 minutes from Hamilton, Americans don't know our geography, if your from London, Hamilton, Niagara, Barrie, it's hard explaining to Americans, so you just say near Toronto or you just tell them Toronto to make it easy for them. But this team is almost completely Toronto area is my point, and Hamilton is part of the GTHA which is also known as the Golden Horshoe, Toronto to Niagara Falls, is an hour drive man, not huge at all. England is way bigger than the eastern Shor of Lake Ontario lol...
@@manguy2000I grew up in Toronto all my life and now go to university in Hamilton. They’re not the same place but they’re very closely situated and are both a part of the GTA
@@d3sfox780 what do you mean canada core? the guys on the team now? the starters? Wiggins has played a ton of canada ball but yea, hasnt always committed.
@@shtrvens with the exception of wiggins, canadian nba core played junior just like canadian nhl players. That’s why their representation is deeply rooted. The latest young kid they brought in to the senior level is Edey. Just like how they brought in Shai and Olynk. The canadian nba players that don’t want to commit are the players that didn’t go through the junior system. They need a lot of convincing for them to join.
@@shtrvens both wiggins and Murray did play. That’s why it’s disappointing that wiggins don’t care as much as shai. As for Murray, it’s understandable that he isn’t playing.
Tell that to Team USA with a full NBA roster and lost to Lithuania where the majority of their roster were non NBA players!! It's a different style of game.
Everyone complaining about the refs, remember it’s FIBA rules, not the NBA where it’s a foul if you breathe on someone. Canada drew more fouls because they are faster and bigger, Slovenia just kept getting blown by or overmatched and had to foul. Were there missed calls? Of course, but let’s not act like Slovenia was robbed here
@@thegagz ain't an excuse, It's a fact after all. Shai was good -- Almost top tier, but the fact that Canada has a lot of NBA players speaks for itself.
This Slovenia team isn't top 20 in the world without Luka. If you watched the game, as soon as Luka is out, Slovenia is in trouble. Canada had so many weapons giving Shai space. He is amazing at playing, but let's not kid ourselves here, lol
Stop lying! Shai played for 38 minutes and scored 31 points. Luka played for 28 minutes and scored 26 points. Shai shot 16 FTs. Luka shot 7. What about those stats made Shai better? Nothing! The differences in this game were the refs called fouls on Slovenia if they blew on Shai and they let Canada tackle Luka all game. Plus Shai played with all NBA players, Luka played with none. If you’re going to tell the story. Don’t lie. Some of us really watched the game.
@@robertriteman3227 He was composed because the refs gave him 16 free throws. He played on an NBA team and 5he crooked refs ejected the only good player on the other team. What did he have to be upset about.
@@ttam1217 Luka’s stats were better than Shai’s. He played 28 minutes and scored 26 points with only 7 free throws. Shai played 38 minutes and scored 31 points of which 17 were free throws.
Shai shoots 16 FTs because he hunts them. He may be the craftiest player in the world right now. That's what you do when you are a 90% FT shooter and have the speed, length, size, power, and smarts to draw fouls. It is a skill.
If Canadian can continue rising and become a perennial legitimate rival to the United States, it will be good for basketball in general. Let's face it, no real rival has ever emerged. Canada winning gold here and at the Olympics is the perfect thing.
As a Canadian , it would be nice but France will have an excellent team as will Serbia ( they will have Jokic) and others. Both Canada and the USA will add players . Canada can add Wiggins,Shaedon Sharpe, Mathurin et al . So no matter which country wins the Olympic games are going to be great.
The last time I used my brain ( which it seems is not something that you have) playing defence was part of any game of basketball . Keep in mind this is FIBA and therefore defence is very important. There was a time when defence mattered in the NBA but because of TV money the league changed the rules ( similar to the NFL) to favour higher scoring . One of the challenges for both the USA and Canada is to have their players recognize the differences. This is why even though both will have upgraded teams at the Olympics they can still be upset. In the specific case of Slovenia , they are capable of playing better providing Luka, the rest of their team, and coaches realize that while Luka is their best player he is not their only player. @@GoodGame391
@@stroshow5 Steph is still better than Shai, he just dropped 50 points in the playoffs and was carrying the warriors all year. I’m Canadian, I love Shai. I think he is on Luka’s level as of now.
@@willfrancis4967 that’s a very subjective comment. I’m just talking about right now… I’m telling you SGA will have a better year then Curry. Shai’s size puts him at another level
@@ThaofficialsenseiI am a Harden fan, but be honest he has not done anything besides getting the MVP and scoring titles in Houston. He went to the finals on the back of Westbrook and KD and never comes up shows up when it matters most.
SGA is already better than Luka but y'all aren't ready for that conversation. Shai is literally unguardable and doesn't need to whine and complain to the refs all game. He plays the game, not the refs.
This is the problem with ESPN, when they are not selling you Austin Reaves as the next Lebron or some euro guy as the next Michael Jordan. They sell you spin job as if Shai is not an amazing player that took a OKC team that is not ready to the playoff while Luka welp he went home early.

LD is a great player but dude is a born complainer. He even admitted so. SGA, OTOH, is just as a great player and smoother than silk off the dribble. And he did his talking with 31 points and 10 rebounds. Gotta mention Canada clearly is one of the best, if not the best, teams in the tournament while missing two of it's best players in Murray and Wiggins. If these two play for us in the Olympics, our starting 5 is as good as any from the States.
And you still have other potential players like Ben Mathurin and Shaedon Sharpe -- both of who should likely be much better this season in the NBA as they are no longer rookies. They do need to find another effective big man -- so someone like Lyles, Clarke or maybe even Boucher probably needs to be considered as well as an addition for Paris. Not sure if Leonard Miller or Olivier-Maxence Prosper are going to be good enough by the time Paris rolls around. Andrew Nemhardt is great too, but they likely don't need him because of their shortage of big men.
Luka such a classy player, he fully took accountability of the ejection, even though the refs were honestly wrong. Team Canada deserved to win tho and they’ve been playing great all tournament
I've watched their game here in the Philippines. You think SCREAMING at his Coach, keeps complaining in every call & bitching at the Refs is classy? He even show a MONEY sign to FIBA officials.
This 2 females said this never happens in the NBA yea cause just like to the cops the nba players don’t respect the refs, players need to stop bitching so much and if you got some complaining to do ,do it respectfully , I’m tired of players pitching so much Luka has gotten used to this NBA refs and he thought he was gonna do the same with the fibarefs but no way Jose!!😂
Brooks literally got ejected for saying, “there’s more where that came from.” I went to go refill my coffee and when I got back he was walking down the tunnel and the announcers were like, “WTH?”
The NBA sho not gonna eject Luka. There's been multiple times that Luka should've been ejected in the NBA. He's been shown a lotof favoritism on just about everything. Example being how Woj trying to make excuses on Luka's behalf. Luka wasn't getting pushed around more than anybody was out there on the court. That's a lie. He deserved his tech a lot more than Brooks did. Brooks didn't deserve to be ejected at all. Woj sho didn't make no excuse for Brooks. Talked more about Luka than he did about the winning team whom also have NBA playerS with an S out there on the court.
Jamal is all in. ppl forget he went to training camp but wanted to focus on resting his body for upcoming NBA season. no diff than jokic choosing not to play
( 9:09 ) It is so gratifying to see Team USA Basketball pay respects to the American and Allied service men and women that paid the ultimate sacrifice, in the Philippines & Pacific theaters in WWII. It is going to a fun game, and probably a bit of a grind against Germany in a few hours... but this Team USA squad can win!
This is why I think its funny when people don't believe scoring in europe is harder. Literally Luka is averaging like 9 ppg less in this world cup relative to the NBA. Its so much easier to score in the NBA
Fact: Canada defeated Luka in an NBA-style manner, and Luka didn't even make it to the NBA playoffs this year. Luka's team achievements in the NBA are far less impressive than his achievements in Europe
I love the technical calls. Just goes to show you how trashy and soft of a league the NBA has become. Love the way the international games are officiated. NBA players need to man up and stop complaining on every single possession and taunting every single possession. Just play ball, you don’t get the call, RUN back on defense!
Love Luka, but he is spoiled and fragile. You don't deserve every call. and also what-- are you EMBARRASSED by the ones you miss???? Dude, you're LUKA DONCIC.... you made INSANE shots all the time. The world sees how incredibly skilled you are.... it's okay to miss. You don't have to yell at the Ref and pretend you got hit. GET OVER YOURSELF. We love you... stop making us think twice about that.
