We visited the Shaker Village in Massachusetts last fall and was so impressed with their technology and inventions! Walking the gardens, especially the medicinals, has inspired me to enlarge my own herb garden in Oklahoma! The round barn, the different production buildings, and oh, those wonderful kitchens! What a unique and amazing life this must have been. Gave sustainability and all new meaning for me! Thank you for sharing! Hope to one day visit your neck of the woods some day soon!

Thank you for the milking tip! I use a bundt pan to take the kernels off. Your way is just as easy.

I used to live at New Lebanon Shaker Village which was where and we lived I had no idea that was an actual photograph of her or drawing Is that real or is it just made up from memory or something because I was told there are no pictures of her and I mean physically drawn ones because it never happened in her lifetime and of course the Shakers would have thought it was kind of presumptuous
