This is a masterpiece of a """"collective period show"""" that many renowned actors like Tatsuya Nakadai appear on. Rouzyu (exective of the government), planning to asassinate the evil post-Rouzyu, fights with the body guards.
The notorious Mayer of Akashi, Naritsugu Matsudaira was elected to be the post-Rozyu. The present Rozyu, Doi (Tetsuro Niwa) ordered Shinzaemon (Tatsuya Nakadai) to assassinate Narihira. 13 assassins including him gathered got prepared to assault Narihira on his way from Edo to Akashi. However, there were 100 soldiors in the troop, including Kitou (Isao Natsuyagi), who is a very clever Shinzaemon's close friend.
