Shane Jones: Labour's naive wokeism and juvenile understanding of economics is gone from Government! Andy Foster to Minister of Resources Shane Jones: What reports has he seen on New Zealand's resources sector?
Woke? We're not America. Keep that woke fear nonsense out of New Zealand. Woke is not a politcal platform, for or against. Whenver anyone mentions woke, I feel like a bit of the goodness New Zealand is, dies.
Fantastic, i am a kiwi who lives overseas and has watched the destruction of my country with wokism and ardenism, hopefully its time to come home, thankyou
I'm making plans to go back now. It was a horror show watching all that from the outside, but just quietly NZ is leading the world right now and I want to move forward with the country if this is the way we are going.
Simple is all they can understand. All they seem to do is shout louder than the person (in this instance Shane Jones) trying to get a point across - rather uncouth.
@@peterlattimore6013 Thanks for the info. A major shutdown and maintenance cost then. Probably more costly than the savings made on the import of coal from Indonesia
@@standbytogo123what sort of logic is that, so keep on importing dirty coal that then ruins our infrastructure, let alone the so called carbon credits to import that dirty coal. Great business forChina, NZ last with that stupid view.
Yes yes yes......bring back the economy. Go Shane Jones!!! We can do this. This is the way forward to a healthy and flourishing country. Becoming self reliant on our own resources is the way to increase employment and reduce the poor quality imported petrol. Whomever decided to put a stop to mining has their head up their own orifice.
The West Coast needs coal and their are plenty of jobs and money to be made for the West Coast economy instead of importing Indonesian coal which is ridiculous. I lived in Blackball for almost a year back in the 90's. Well done NZ First for using common sense which has been lacking in this country for quite some time.
Well done sanity at last - you will be most welcome by the West Coasters and a lot of work will come out of what you are about to do - NZ will benefit.greatly... again well done!
No matter what government is in coal is mined and exported. It would be better for the environment to burn it here and save all the pollution transporting it
Bloody brilliant Shane Jones sooner the better keep this country once again self sufficient...and you know all those media news hub and tvnz workers will have good paying jobs again and for the greens labour te pati Maori here's a word for ya's PROGRESS....MMMMMMMM
Go Shane so refreshing to hear someone speak out with honesty and truth on the past 5-6 years of shocking, usually not mandated, actions of Labour/Greens which have economically torpedoed NZs growth and prosperity. Their unfunded actions have driven away many multinationals from our shores as uncertainty blocked their development. Finally, it seems we are attracting back some actions that will create new employment and generate funding for NZ. Well done Shane keep up the momentum.
Didn't he do well ! Shane Jones has a turn of phrase and gift of oratory that reminds me a bit of David Lange. I hope the coalition lasts the distance - if they can't improve the overall economic performance of the country then who can? Certainly not the last Government that spent their way to penury.
Yep, reminds me a lot of Lange, the creator of Tomorrow's Schools and hasn't that worked tickety boo for literacy, School infrastructure etc, etc. Some people just love the sound of their own voice.
So good to see NZ First doing what they said they would do. Had every confidence in Winston 3:03 and his colleagues to move NZ forward when l cast my vote. Thanks NZ First.
A great example of “ Can Do “ thinking as opposed to the “ Can’t Do” culture which has been portrayed as a way forward. NZs greatest asset is its people , they need productive and satisfying work for the country to succeed. We live in the best country in the world , be proud of it!
The shame about all this is there are so many stupid people who think labour-greens did a great job when bottom line is you don't earn money you can't spend it....well for long anyway...and how was importing indonesian coal to power the stations to fuel e-cars and bikes on top of heating homes ever a good thing
Surely it was Genesis Energy that made the decision to import Indonesian Coal because it is cheaper than mining the Huntly coal that their power station stands on? And thats after taking into consideration the cost of building the coal handling plant at the Port of Tauranga.
Thank you Mr Shane Jone New Zealand First MP, New Zealand is a young Nation (compared to the globe) so all the resources Mr Jones has highlighted are in abundance and most likely High quality. Use New Zealand's own resources (not import): jobs, export, on the Global Market (many benefits for our economy)... New Zealand Citizens voted National New Zealand First Act (October 2024) already see the evidence! But as for the ex-co-gov Labs Grens m.p 6yrs no beneficial evidence only Macro INCOMPETENCE!!!
I really hope NZ 1st can fix this country and not end up like the UK with the local elections just happened and was shocking results like the London Mayor voted back in again.
New Zealanders, have to be aware, after the recent elections, (along their voting and outcome) that we as a Nation, truly need to have Stability, to then Become Prosperous.....regardless of these . Pompous type....!!
If the members on the other side of the house could have shown they knew what they were doing and didn't try to push a change that the country was not ready for its OK to say stop useing oil coal gas if we had all the inferstructure in place to take over then they could say we have everything up and running it can now take over but we don't theory vrs realiaty
Unfortunately with regards to hydrocarbon investment the damage has been done by Labour. Very few companies will make long term investments in this area because one day Labour may pull the rug out. They set an unfortunate precedent.
Think about it ... Shane Jones has a list of points to make his colleague has list of questions pertaining to that list that he wants asked. Every party does it.
no issue with the idea of functional industry. But I dislike the knowledge that a small few individuals will benefits for more than the country as a whole. The rich becoming richer is a feature not a bug.
When it comes to Australian Gold Mining in NZ, maybe the minister would like to tell the Nation just how much money in total Net it is New Zealanders earn annually in dividends from the Company’s extracting our Gold ? (If Any).
And that dear boy is why you're now rating below the 5% threshold in the polls. Perhaps most NewZealanders would like their grandchildren to have a future do you think?
your senior understanding of economics left the ratepayers of Tasman with a $150 MILLION bill for a duckpond they didnt want so a few rich land owning applologists can make a ton more at everyone else's expense having decided to ignore climate change disasters and effects for his stupid grandstanding how is he going to pay for the coming carnage?
@@mikebrown7269 So you have no problem with Shane handing out permits and other perks to his mates? I guess you love corruption and are one of his mates too right?
@@badchefi Hilarious..I know you won't show any evidence to back your claims, because you haven't got any, unlike the 6 yrs of corruption by the previous Gov't that is now widely known...
Wonder if Shane will still feel the same way when his home is drowning, or the bush around him is on fire, or if a cyclone takes out his home. I guess he won't care he will just buy another and start again, stuff the future generations.
the greenies were the cause of flood problems due to the trees and offcuts not being removed.as for floods cyclones ,they've been hitting this country all through our history ..NOTHING NEW ORTO DO WITH CLIMATE CHANGE
carry on destroying our natural environment and ignoring treaty obligations, in the name of generating jobs BS! How about you retain jobs by not laying tens thousands of people off! - new zealand last party
