Carbon Credits aren't doing anything for NZ Businesses it's just Locking up Good Productive Land ! So someone on the Other side of the World can Pollute with their Manufacturing!
Stop drinking the Kool Aid. This coalition has sown completely disingenuous narratives around the past govt. and spending - we have a huge infrastructure deficit, and this coalitiong refuses to tax the wealthiest kiwis as per the recomendations of the IMF & IRD reports. We need to spend - we also need to generate more tax. We also need to stimulate the local economy and kick start a circular economy. This govt is doing it's best to favour massive overseas companies and shafting small NZ business in the process - how many will go under now kiwis have nothing to spend? How many businesses will go under as their customers have all lost their jobs? Meanwhile this govt. takes massive donations and helps overseas mining companies bypass the courts to get Fast-track approval. They've cancelled massive investment effectively wasting all that money - and our roads are screwed.....
Some countries are on 100% renewables now, and the European Central Bank warns of the risks of climate change destabilizing financial markets... The latest projections are scary AF and worth heeding. These policies will be seen as terrible and ignorant in time - the actions of lazy politicians who clearly favour large mining companies. Governments are increasingly going to come under scrutiny and even legal prosecution like in the UK. NZ could lead the world on clean energy and research if it wanted, instead we've got backwards policy, massive donations and dodgy off the record deals....
@@chrisstarkey6209 you must read from the WEF book . Globalist who thinks there is green clean energy . Ever seen a Lithium mine in Africa , child slaves . NZ is not going to go broke because someone in the EU wrote a bias thesis , sponsored by a collective bunch of non scientists . Maybe read books , educate yourself before you believe delusional non scientists .
I used to think Shane Jones was a bit of a clown. I am starting to realise he is a smart fella and makes a lot of sense, and his delivery is second to none.
Its cheaper to import refined petroleum products from countries like India but he wants to reopen a refinery that was loosing money so yeah he's a clown.
@@bobdillon1138Yes cost is important but there is also strategic implications. We are at the end of a very long shipping supply chain. We are 100% reliant on Singapore/and others to supply us with fuel, all our eggs are in one basket. We need a degree of self reliance in case that supply stops due to international events outside of our control. No diesel no food.
It has always been cheaper to import refined from ozzie. When we completed the point back in the nineties piggy muldoon and dh peters sold it to foreigners and they haven't chanded
The grown-ups are in charge 💯 !! We will not be sold OUT to the WEF, WHO or THE CDC !!! Our country is independent and self sufficient NZ is back on track !!!
Independant and self sufficient but imports more food than it exports and the economy can't survive without the rest of the world, yeah.. Net 50 is in 11 years and Net Zero in 24 and NZ has the highest per capita car ownership in the world, which are going to become stranded assets.
"What if a small group of world leaders were to conclude that the principal risk to the Earth comes from the actions of the rich countries?... In order to save the planet, the group decides: Isn't the only hope for the planet that the industrialized civilizations collapse? Isn't it our responsibility to bring that about?" - Maurice Strong (First Director of the United Nations Environment Program)
@@secondchance6603 What if the risk to the world is 80 percent of all species die, why should industrialised countries, for the sake of industry, not collapse?
@@antonyjh1234 Really? Amazing, considering our climate 'experts' can't predict the weather accurately past three days but you're unnamed 'experts' have told you 'we are currently heading to 5c by end of century and then it will take 330 years for 10% 7.7 metres of sea level rise from ice melt.' Here's some facts for you to chew over from past climate, 'experts'. You will need to search it because YT hates links except to their own crap. Importing natural resources from overseas is not very 'green' with shipping. Good to use what we have in this country . We need to be able to refine oil here because if a shipment can't or doesn't come into NZ the whole country will become a standstill and the economy decimated, plus the tar that is imported is inferior and hence all the potholes. Is there no respect by holding your mouth shut while other people are talking anymore? All that shouting over the top doesn't do anything but show them up as tantrum throwing school children.
Net 50 in 11 years and Net Zero in 26 and 80% of our energy is from oil, an oil refinery when the rest of the world and us has signed against the use of it seems as though change might happen other ways unless NZ wants to be the suppliers of a mad max world, then calling ourselves adults just seems pointless.
@@kungfutzu3779 Google it, 47 years left. Even BP/Exxon are saying this. New discoveries like Namibia who just found 10 billion barrels, add that to the 13 billion and 23 billion barrels is enough for 200 days at current usage. It won't be that the world will stop using oil as all plastics for medical devices come from the same barrel it will just be that the next 80 years will look nothing like the last.
Its not commercially viable to refine oil in this Country the last owners figured that out it is cheaper to import from countries like India keeping it open would require subsidy's from the Govt and our oil reserves are in the deepest parts of the ocean that are extremely difficult and expensive to drill for.
I didnt think he would cut it and NZfirst would fail once winston retires but im warming to him perhaps he is winstons replacement once he retires? Either way NZers need a legitimate choice other than National, labour and ACT to vote for that is genuinely centre right.
it is so extraordinary that some ...(just Like Billie Graham from USA ) with some buffoonery loud mouth (regardless of any Intelligence could influence so many)

The Speaker needs to get tough with those people who shout out while someone is speaking, total disrespect. I dont think you would get that crap on a marae when someonewas speaking.
So where was the Opposition over the last 6 Year's??? Where was National ACT & NZ First when Labour Green's were Selling Off Z-ENERGY too AMPOL AUSTRALIA who's condition of Purchase was that Our Refinery had to be SHUT DOWN??? So refreshing to hear common sense in parliament, it's been sorely missed. The other side of the room should be in the Middle East waving rainbow flags, and seeing how well that's accepted.
@@alistermacpherson7120 Thats right, it probably never will, the place was sabotaged, pipes were fulled with cement etc etc, it would take a total rebuild, and thats not likely to happen now. I think it was a Muldoon 'think big' project, too bad the current owners don't have the foresight he had.
Funny how it almost brings me to tears hearing such commonsense from our very own politicians. We're now one if the luckiest countries politically instead of ine of the worst. Well done fellow kiwis!
LPG should be promoted and encouraged for vehicles etc as we have great reserves and it is a good steeping stone away from overseas oil, also creates jobs for Kiwis and resilience
@@antonyjh1234 Incorrect; LPG is recognized as a low carbon alternative fuel, it emits 33-35% less CO2 than coal and 12% less than oil. It also emits almost no black carbon, arguably the second biggest contributor to global warming.

Shane is great in this thinking. So much for the previous government. I'm glad he's shutting down that " Build back better " BS. Well said Shane, industry is the heart beat of this country, without we are a third world country. And listen to whines and groans of those incompetent useless labour dumpties.
Oh my god he is just brilliant Shane Jones for prime minister The greens did this , not one of them has the intelligence to debate him , thank you Mr Jones , this gives me heart
Its a breath of fresh air to finally listen to someone in Parliament that actually talks sense and isn't living in a Fairy land. It's a timely reminder as we potentially face blackouts tomorrow morning because our Green energy isn't producing enough for demand. Im not a Fan of Fossil fuels, BUT reality is, that we still need them to effectively function

11.15 pm. Bravo Shane Jones. Not are you only very articulate, but also have the nous to address the foolish Greens in the way they deserve. With New Zealand First in the government , we can be assured that there will be clarity of intention and not beating around the bush.
Shane just gets better and better. Thank you for slipping in 'Black Rock', this reassures me that NZ First is quite aware of the Globalist problem. LETS BOOT OUT WHO PANDEMIC TREATY TOO! Keep up the good work NZ First.
I’m beginning to believe that the Speaker is no good for his job. Parliament is becoming a circus under his stewardship. The shouted objections within the chamber are just a short step away from anarchy by a tiny minority of juvenile minded MP’s.
Shane Jones , NZ is blessed to have him and Winston Peters , men with backbone and the true best interests at heart for NZ , we are sadly lacking in Australia 👍👍👍
