Equine veterinarian, Dr. Shane Miller, is not only a sought-after surgeon and sports medicine practitioner who treats a wide array of western performance horses, but he’s a high-level athlete in his own right. As a competitive triathlete who trains in the mountains surrounding the eastern shores and mountains of Lake Tahoe, Dr. Miller is a significant advocate of veterinary-guided rehabilitation following injury and surgery, and has created an equine rehab center at his practice, Great Basin Equine Hospital in Gardnerville, Nevada. In this video we’ll meet Dr. Miller as he draws parallels between the human and equine athlete, and what we can learn from each other to benefit performance, a preventive approach to better health and improved outcomes using rehabilitation.

I consider it a gift that I can say that I have Shane on my team. We are so lucky to have access to Shane here in Northern NV. His Tahoe Equine Rehab and Conditioning Clinic is an asset to our equine community.

Shane Miller is an incredible man of God! It’s scary 😰 to face a critical care scenario or making the call to go into surgery, but if you had Dr Miller in the room your faith 🙌🏻 instantly took root and his care was second to none! {Colorado misses you btw. } He saved our beloved Storms life back in 1999 and to this day he puts his hands on Aspen’s rodeo horses when he flys in from Reno.
