I understand frustration of Alison's fans, but I am sure Shania greatly appreciates her support. As chrismatic as ever Shania's voice is in this performance, Alison shows why she is one of greatest voices in country music today.
I agree, my wife and I we're both professional musicians, we come from a classical background, we graduated in one of the top European schools for classical music, and we were both blown out of our minds when we saw her live. I remember the first time I stumble upon a live video by Alison, I couldn't believe that was a live recording, because it sounded so perfect. I was sure it was "retouched". But after seen AK and US live, I can tell THEY REALLY ARE THAT GOOD!!!

Ken Brown In your opinion what is it? Depending on one's generation, that song could be classified as folk, soft rock (1970's) or country. Shania was all about blurring musical boundaries and she left that up to the listener to determine. Even she herself stated that she put herself in the country genre because it was the closest thing to her repertoire. I am aware that trends in contemporary country music do change much like popular music. The way I see it is that country music is pop music for rural folks. Bluegrass, Red Dirt and some Americana music winds up being closer to a more traditional acoustic and even countrified sound today than contemporary country music, which jumped the shark.
Ken Brown All modern country music is pop music, the entire CMA show is a pop event. This is far more country than Rascal Flatts which is a very good pop/rock band

I love, love Allison Krauss!! My mom and I listened to her all the time! It is one of my most cherished memories I have with my mom. She used to love to put her CD's on in the car or our house and we would sing while we were driving, cooking or cleaning the house together!! Music was a big thing between my mom and I! It's something we shared together like it was our own ( Secret's to each other/ our own language to one another!) Between her aria or mine we introduced each other to lots of different music!! We loved and enjoyed all of it, music is and will always be like a on going ( Book) that we can right back n fourth to one another even though she is no longer with me music is what keeps our relationship going on forever!! Always..mom, always...❤️Forever!!
Both of these women are fine singers, each in her own way; together they make a powerful and appealing type of music. Union Station is comprised of several consummate and professional musicians with enormous experience and diversity (and Ms. Krauss is an integral and functioning part of that aspect of the band with her fiddle). As a group, they make even the most mundane of music entertaining and emotionally appealing, and THAT is what music is supposed to be about. Well done!
i have always loved shania but lately i have run across her singing with allison kraus. what a talent. she is always in the background and never hogging the spotlight.

+1pupblacky i went back and listened to the tape you talked about and i think that jamey johnson has a gentle voice and alison has to hold back her voice to keep from being too loud. in some cases she doesn't always succeed. johnson has a nice voice but not near the power of alison's voice.

+1pupblacky don't sleep so well so i'm usually up. i just looked up her duet with emmylou harris (all i have to do is dream) and they blend very well. maybe alison was on her best behavior being with a big country star.

Awesome voices from Shania and Allison and their backup music.....add Jerry and Dan to the mix and hey its great. Most of the great country/bluegrass singers / pickers that I know come from small country towns, the mountain villagers like the Smokies, Appalachians, Chic Chocs, Blue, Green, White, Highland mts or other rural places and that's why this grassroots music is so close to life. I agree with you. Alison deserves a good listening to. She has a great voice and just listen to her playing her fiddle. It is heavenly. With that said, I must admit that I prefer Shania's music. It's more me. Together they are a match made in heaven though. We've got two of the greatest acts in country and bluegrass. They should do more of this.
Alison and US have been my lifelong absolute favorite. She and the boys are flawless, professionals and true artists. Theyve been the soundtrack to so many moments in my life.♡

This song is just sweet musical magic. Hasn't lost any of it's "power" since the day I first heard it. Instantly loved it (still do). But I'm amazed at the level of Shania's music. Who else help create and sing as many great songs as she did?!? According to WIki "Twain said there is something inspirational to her about people who start relationships when they are kids, and are still in love when they are older." A rare talent like Shania and a rare kind of love seldom seen. Perfect match!
Alison Krauss is absolutely an angelic singer and woman. She has got the whole package. Shania is fabulous but must realize she is in the presence of greatness.

I was drug everywhere for 3 day festivals and I lived in Nashville for 10 years. you obviously know nothing about me. I have a book very well hidden the has mama maybelle, june carter the George jones the osbourne brothers and so on and so on. I have only seen Shania about 3 times live because my son had the hots for her. what is the comeback? am well versed in country and bluegrass . think before you speak . It is obvious the love many have for Shania, and she has a love for us, too. It is amazing that with such love being shown, Shania would stay away. There must be something else going on that keeps her away. Now concerning Alison and her Guys: They are fantastic. I could listen to them all day and not tire. Bottom line: musicians love music and love what they do. And they are fans, too. You can tell that Shania and Ali & the Boys are loving it. Keep the love coming !

I seriously hope she appreciated the amount of talent that was wrapped around her there, because every last one of them is a better musician. I appreciate Shania Twain for her good stuff, but she was not a self-made artist. AKUS has talent beyond just about ANY single artist that's shown up in the last few decades...
My God what a beautiful woman. Shania is a damn 14 on a 1 to 10 scale. Actually she has class and humility like a lot of people no longer have now, and she lets her heart felt voice come thru.Wish I was young again and had me a girl like Shania.
Two lovely talented ladies sing a song on a CMA awards show which today, would be considered "too country." I used to lose sleep staying up and watching the awards but now, I wouldn't waste my time or electricity watching what should now be referred to as the "crappy music awards."
