Shanice has always been so under rated her vocals are pure and raw. The meaning of this song is pure happiness and celebrating love. So I still rock this in 2022.
This woman was only 27 in this video....27 doesn't have the same maturity, confidence, and self assurance in artists as it did in these days. The ladies in this group had their own lane and vocal style...Tamia, Deborah, and Shanice were always that group for me.
Yes I always felt like Left Eye from TLC thought about this and learned for the Unpretty video. Or they both learned together because both came out around the same time
I love you and your husband as a married couple. I know that marriage can be difficult at times, but you guys are showing the world of endurance. May God continue to bless your union 🙏🏼
I’m so glad my siblings had great ears for music. Shanice vocals are still so underrated! The woman can sang!!! I miss hearing bridges in music! Bring it back please for R&B 👏🏾
I love, love, love this song!!!!! My loving and talented sister-in-law, Tamara Savage, wrote this song for this amazing singer. These two women are a force to be reckoned with!
Oh is that right? I used to blast this in my dorm freshman year of college. Britney Spears had just come out but I was all about this. I understand this leaped from #91 to #16 on the Hot 100.
I forgot that Tamara Savage co-wrote this joint! She lyrically contributed to a few other songs that I love; "The First Night" by Monica, "Heartbreak Hotel" by Whitney Houston with Faith Evans & Kelly Price, and "It's All About You (Not About Me)" by Tracie Spencer. Very talented with the pen.
shanice is so underrated because she stayed true to herself the label wanted her to look more sexy more revealing but she said on unsung that she should be sexy for her husband I totally agreed
This women was sooooooo underrated and passed over. Natural born singer AND she was doing sign language in the whole videos...Tell me WHO HAS EVER DONE THAT...STILL TODAY...I.WILL.WAIT🤫
She was only 25 when her career hit the skids. She was still so young. Unfortunately Motown didn’t know what to do with her and had poor management. By the time she got to Ladace their glory days were behind them. Excellent singer more talent than many. Too bad because vocally this girl was up there with Whitney and Mariah.
I was 9 years old loving this song. Not knowing what love meant, lol. I just loved her voice and the production. I still love this song today. One of my all time favorites songs.
Shanice is so underrepresented and underappreciated! She sings like a goddess and were rivaling moves of females in that era. No one has incorporated sign language in a video and belt out a tune this way! She needs her flowers right now. If Ashanti gets a tribute, Shanice deserves a few!
This is my favorite Shanice joint - loved it from first hearing it back on 92.3 The Beat in L.A., and will still automatically run it back when it pops up in my library.
Its the chords, very traditional gospel black church chord progression. Sounds very much like Tupac's "I Ain't Mad Ya". You can just see the choir rocking back and forth to the meter
It's called TALENT 👆💖such a beautiful song but the clip reminds me a little bit Toni Braxton "He wasn't man enough for me"😊we need more music like this
This song gives me chills everytime! Shanice is beautiful and has an amazing voice and can dance! love the old school r&b I used to jam. I had this single and played it nonstop💚💙💜 The 90s were on fire with good music. I miss it so much
Shanice is a TRUE singer/artist! Shanice's vocal range is a soprano (which are typically opera singers) BUT with her raw, organic, God given talent, Miss Shanice can reach the range of what's called the "whistle register" or "flute register", meaning, she literally can sing, without cracking, as as high as a whistle or flute!!! It's an amazing talent, because only true singers, like Shanice, can vocally reach a range known as "falsetto" which is a very high register and is amazing in itself to reach, BUT, only a FEW can reach the "whistle range" which includes the talented Shanice and that range is even HIGHER than falsetto!! Today's music is horrible and most vocals are artificially produced, yet the mafia ran record labels care only about mass profit and they will still call their auto tuned so called singers "artists" to fool the masses... But true lovers of REAL, talented, organic, God given gifted SINGING/ARTISTS will ALWAYS know the difference of CRAP music and GREAT music. Shanice is GREAT music!
Kumtekmeon: from the The first time I heard her new single I couldn't stop playing it. Now what she needs to do is put a damn album together and make her fans happy.
Trisha Dishing It's not that Sopranos are Opera singers, but that's a type of voice classified in Opera. Mariah is a Soprano, so is Celine, Patti, etc. Mezzo Sopranos are Whitney, Beyoncé, P!nk etc.
The first time I saw this video i was an 8th grader who just got suspended for fighting. I was watching Jam Zone on BET just waiting for my parents to come home and beat my ass some more, lol.. The album dropped not long after and I found it for $20.99 at Sunrise Records, it was the only copy. It took a lot of saving my allowance money, but eventually I bought it and still enjoy the album till this day. I was 13 when this came out and i'm in my 30's now good music never expires
$20.99?? I hope that's not in American currency. Sometimes I cringe at how much money I spent in the 1990s for CDs whereas now I can hear it all for free (for now) here.
When this came out, I had the cassette tape and played that thang till it was in me❣️ I had NO idea that Shanice could dance & sign tho👀👀👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾 The ASL solidified many moons later that I'm creatively kin to this true artist. Thank you for all the love and work you put in... Love you Sis❣️🎼🎧🎶
Ooooohhh snapppp! The beat is poppin' love it! And I love how Shanice was still hangin' around in the R&B world 12 years strong during this point in her career. See this is why I miss the late 90s/early 2000s so damn much, you never had to worry about people calling you "old", "irrelevant", "played out", etc. Long as you had a strong voice & a hot ass beat to go along with it, you know you were gonna be a hit. I loved the choreo to this too. Man, is this woman so underrated!
This was one of the best music videos ever. The Signing as part of the dance moves. She put some eye candy out there for the ladies instead of exploiting other women….. I LOVE IT. And she looked amazing.
Love the sign language they do in the video when they dance, never seen that before until this video...😊 Wish Shanice was still singing... That dude in the video looks just like my friend Carlos...
