I was 4 or 5 too when my dad suddenly died. Sadness was all over me, I literally felt a part of me died. All those emotions and feelings didn't start to go away until weeks gone by after the funeral. The toughest part to deal with was when the funeral was finally over and he was taken away to be bury. A part of me was happy the funeral was over. A party of me was super devastated, that now he's really gone and I'll never see him again. Really tough for a child at such age to deal with. I'm traumatized by it, I could still remember those moments vividly. Because of that horrible experience, even now as an adult I'm worry about having to through such ordeal again.

Hearing this speech from Dominican Republic. I am starting to gather info about things that really matter like this. I think your father beside being a great martial artist and an actor, he left a great legacy of perseverance, love, passion for stuffs that make us real human beings and living beyond barriers and borders. I think that being Shannon Lee is a binding way of life. I had never imagined the presence, and the close way of living the “chaos” in you (even though I personally had similar experiences), nor the fact that they were them - the ones you are missing so much - to help you tidy up your universe. Fantastic speech Shannon, the timing couldnt have been more appropriate because of my past and present. Thankyou SO much for passing on your father's philosophies it means a great deal to me. You do a grand job and I am so very proud of you for not messing up your life with drink or drugs and having faith in your father's ability to get you out of what can be debilitating depression which I truly understand. Your speech was profound and very touching, I could hear the anguish in your voice and that's nothing to be ashamed of, you are human afterall. I wish you all the very best for the future. If a miracle happened and I met you, I'd give you the biggest hug because I can relate to your touching speech. Take care of yourself xxx

REMEMBER GOING TO SEATTLE TOWN ON MY OWN AND RUNNING INTO TAKY KAMURA LIKE IT WAS JUST YESTERDAY WHEN HAGGING AROUND TOWN AND HIM ASKING ME IF I WANTED TO COME IN HIS STORE OUT OF THE COLD WEATHER IN WHICH I DID AND THEN TAKING ME TO MY SURPRISE TO THE BOTTOM BASEMENT WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE HIS DOJO. Shannon Lee is a true warrior and inspiration. Her mother and father did a phenomenal job raising her. Brandon really was almost like a twin to her, they have the same laugh, they both are outstanding martial artists, have/has great senses of humor and wit and are incredibly intelligent and well read and full of joy today nowadays. I admire her for continuing to spread her dad's legacy and Brandon's even though it's hard. She is such a gift. Thank you Shannon for sharing your story of healing and helping others. Big hugs. 🤗
