Why would it matter if they won this game? The season is lost, they want a better draft pick, they didn't want to risk Hurts getting injured in a meaningless game and they gave back ups playing time who barely see the field. Not a big deal.
@@bocronfield6478 playing against a division rival to possibly knock them out of the playoffs, I don't care about the NFC east but I can't imagine letting a division rival win and not letting Hurts show what he can do with the game on the line. If I'm Jason Kelce I'm leaving the eagles. I'm not playing for a team that NEEDS a higher pick, I would rather play for a team that wants to win.
@@specm_10 nah bro, Jalen played 3 quarters obviously they aren’t concerned with injury, and going from the 9th pick to 6th pick isn’t going to change anything they’ll get a dline men at most
For me at least, it's not about Giants getting in and more about damaging the integrity of the game. I just feel like the Eagles had no respect for the game or players out there. I honestly could care less if Giants made it cuz I feel like nobody in NFCE should've
@@jasminey9642 don’t disrespect Washington. They earned it. Coach battling cancer. Qb came back late and hasn’t played a down since forever. Backup almost sold the season two weeks in a row. They overcame a lot. They deserve to be in the playoffs just as much as the next team.
@@leonknight558 Bro I don't think a 7-9 team should be in the playoffs regardless of who it is. Yeah it sucks what Ron and Alex have gone thru but that does't change the fact that they have a losing record.
Watching the press conference post game Pederson avoided eye contact with cameras in a 100% remote press room. Dude was looking to his right nearly the whole thing lmao
He’s not gone, front office loves him, K. Johnson said it best, he loses they move up to 6th selection in the draft. They had nothing to play for. Obviously, you want to win as pros but in this case it’s clearly for draft movement. Period
@@thundergato84 for the integrity of the league and for the players that sacrifice their health and played injured during the season, that’s why. This is real football not some fantasy football league
@@iceybud9003 yup. Lurie probably told Doug and company that Sudfeld should play at some point so that Hurts wouldn’t take any unnecessary hits after he played enough snaps or if things went south quickly and Washington was blowing them out. Perhaps Lurie wanted to see if Sudfeld can play well enough to keep him as a backup QB if Wentz or Hurts ends up being traded.
@@knight6 well then they should’ve started him from the jump. Who evaluate someone if he’s good enough to be a back up 😂. Let’s say they really did want to give him reps well you don’t give him the whole quarter when the game still in reach . Clearly threw the game and I wouldn’t be surprise if the owner was in on it .
As soon as Hurts was pulled my cousin who is a die hard Eagles fan texted me saying that Doug is throwing the game. This was the most deliberate tank I've ever seen on live television.
@@spidersense589 for an even worse qb yea ill say lol then going for it on 4th and goal to tie it earlier in the game then right after switch the qb for a qb that can't run away from the line that sucks worse than 2017 giants line yea I think yea its more than hurts wasn't doing good....ever heard of defense and running game wins super bowls?
@@jeffritchie213 it get it, but accusing a guy of throwing a game, in which he just replaced a struggling young quarterback with another irrelevant quarterback maybe reaching, in a game that meant nothin to them, but you have teams like the bengals and jets that have been tanking all year, so I'm say, what if he tanked, do we really expect either the giants or the washington football team to make a superbowl run and the cowboys lost anyway, so why is Skip crying 😭 Teams manipulating ways to lose games happens more times then not in the NFL, especially sitting key players, but fans don't have a problem with it, some even want their team to lose out, they like tanking it until it affects their teams chances of making the playoffs or whatever
Yes pathetic Jalen was pulled. He completed only 7/20 for 72 yds with a qb rating of 25.4! When you suck you get benched. There should be no uproars about it!
It's simple, honestly: if Doug Pederson was afraid he could lose his job, he wouldn't make these decisions. He knows he'll be back next year, that's why he did what he did
@TheTot Process I watched the game. The season's lost but that doesn't mean you pulled hurts outta the game and put in sudfeld to continue on stinking it up.
@@DavidEvans_dle or offense line or defense players we not drafting another QB.. We need a dam defense or corners are no good. Lbs are trash and all of our veteran wideouts are gone next year.
After the game and coaches walked to middle of field and met. Ron clearly says "hey thanks" like he knew what Doug just did for him. Those were his first words. Not a good evening or good game but hey thanks
There should be a policy if there’s clear signs of throwing the game to effect the draft in your favor . You lose a draft pick . Total disrespect to the players who play with all their heart and for some their job
They drafted jj arega-whiteside over metcalf and mcclaurin Then drafted reagor over Jefferson I don’t think getting the 6th overall pick instead of the 9th will change anything especially since they don’t seem to evaluate talent well
Then they Should've lost more from the beginning and kept Wentz in to keep losing if they wanted a higher draft pick. Because he wasn't going to win you games
If They would have did this and the Cowboys had won people would have literally crowned the Eagles as MVPs of the Post season. So I don't really care how the Giants Feel because it happened to them
Y’all really think benching Hurts was solely Doug’s decision? That was a collective decision between Lurie, Howie, and Doug. The players probably were unaware though
@@seudeashton3886 i think it's a mess with all 3 qb's. But carson's contract & recent overall play makes him almost untradable. The gm has a lot of work ahead of him trying to get the personnel right, with the o-line as well.
@@dwjoseph59 we need a real reboot . frist should have traded foles to the jags for jelanan . we had not have a steady defense since jim Johnson . last time we really good
"Its not what you know its what you can prove " training day 😂 Doug Peterson to giants "you think my eagles are going to help you get in the playoffs 😂😂😂
Why is Skip saying "Jalen is throwing to Quez Watkins" all sad and making it out that Wentz didn't have to throw tot he same receivers? Like what's his point? Don't get me wrong Jalen is a really good QB and Wentz has regressed but I don't blame him after questionable coaching this season.
Because Pederson sat Desaun, Alshon, Goddard, and Reagor got hurt. What Skip meant was that at that point some random guy named Quez Watkins was literally all Hurts had. That's 3 wide receivers and a TE. Imagine Brady playing without Evans, Godwin, Brown, and Gronk for 3 quarters.
Tanking should be discreet. You know a team is trash but you don’t blatantly disrespect the game by forcing the tank. The Jaguars genuinely suck because they started over and gave away all of their valuable aging pieces in the offseason. They didn’t bench their best players who have the potential to win during the games
You’ve just said tanking should be discreet, yet everyone knows the Jags are tanking...? They did it for a season, Philly did it for a game, both the same thing, both aiming for same outcome
@@matthewcockrell8233 you literally skipped over the rest of my comment just to justify yourself. The Jaguars also genuinely suck. Idk if you read that or not but from the coaching to the players they are bad. It’s also disrespectful to the team to pull a rookie QB in the last game and purposely make decisions that would cause you to lose. It’s makes them question why they tried in the first place
@Dan D if he thought of the team he wouldn’t have done this that way. He lost the respect of his entire team because he allowed them to believe all the way up and into the game that they were gonna be competitive. Bench the guy before the game and let the standard be known instead of having guys go through all the studying and preparation and giving full effort for a game Doug planned on losing for one guy instead of valuing the other 53 hardworking men on the roster. I mean these guys stayed away from family and friends for Christmas and New Years in order to insure they were ready. It’s terrible. These guys had the potential to win this game. That’s the difference between the Jags and Eagles. The Jags never came into any game with expectation of winning cause they STARTED OVER and are a bad team. You can’t call out a bad team for being a bad team, but I can call out a coach for forcing their team to be bad.
They really should show the clips that are brought up when skip says can we see this... we get to see on sportscenter, inside the nba, get up, and basically every show.

Not even close to the same thing. Tua was clearly the better QB, and Alabama does not win the title in 2018 if Hurts plays the whole game. Nothing against Jalen, he just needed a couple more years to improve as a passer.
@@romaniwuc6215 yeah and he still needs some improvement.. He can’t be the starter on the Eagles next year because he’s not the best QB in Philly! Carson Wentz is more talented than Hurts when it comes to passing! The arm strength is by far more superior
@@B.H.79 no man, what you’ve said simply just perpetuates stereotypes of mobile QBs. Jalen Hurts is good at passing also. Even the commentators said this on TV during the game last night. He’s currently the better QB on the roster.
