In 2022, we continued to influence the adoption of long-term development plans in Abia, Cross River, and Edo States. We encouraged governments to include long-term plan ideas in their annual budgeting, and we provided a memo to the Cross River State Budget Office to advise on the essential development priorities in the 2023 budget.
In Edo state, we worked with the government and key stakeholders to address the Access to Arable land for smallholder farmers. A committee was set up as part of PIND's recommendation to the state government, which has led to community support to bring the initiative to life.
PIND continues to support governments in the Niger Delta and influence policies that would yield investments, economic growth, and stability in the region.
