If you’re going to cite “racist” laws, maybe pick one that’s been applied in the last decade.

However, I have spent a lot of time in the north ( New York, and Pennsylvania) and I know for fact that racism is much worse in those states. Black, white, Hispanics, and Asians rarely coexist in the same neighborhoods. Hence, Chinatown, Korean town, little Italy, Harlem and others are for the most part segregated areas. In western New York I have seen multiple Nazi flags flying from peoples flagpoles. I believe the south is far less racist!

To take it farther, there IS institutional racism today. It's not what the left portrays, but it does indeed exist. It's called Affirmative Action. When a business owner is forced to hire a certain number of people based off of skin color, or when a college penalizes Asian and White students on their SAT scores, or when our government sets aside a certain amount of money for small business loans based on skin color, that's institutional racism. Even Biden is breaking federal law. When he decided to hire/appoint a new SCOTUS Justice based solely on gender and skin color, he's not only practicing racism, but he's also breaking the law. It's no different than a president telling the people he'll only consider a White man for the position. No different at all. Yet the left would have a stroke if that happened, but they don't bat an eye when it follows their program. The left is the only group keeping racism alive today. Every problem or situation that arises is due to racism. They make EVERYTHING about race. They need to. That's the only way they can control us, by division. It has been the left's playbook for the past 200 years. The Dems founded the KKK. They fought AGAINST every Civil Rights bill brought to Congress until 1964. The Democrats have the greatest propaganda operation the world has seen. They are true masters. They write the script and the media serves it up to those unable, unwilling, or uncaring enough to see through it. Now they want to bring down the entire system. It's terrifying.

@@blokcomNativeFaces Whenever we switched from a merit based system to well, whatever it is the left calls it, everything went downhill. Before the left destroyed us with the welfare state, African Americans had 1.) A HIGHER rate of marriage than Whites, 2.)Way fewer children in single parent homes, 3.)A much higher rate of graduation, and 4.)A higher labor force participation rate. It's unfortunate that the left has brainwashed entire generations in believing they are oppressed and can't make something of themselves because...white people. The insistence of the left to teach CRT and revisionist history, along with big government telling black women that they don't need a man, that big daddy government will take care of them, and that all white people are oppressors and all black people are oppressed has done the ultimate damage to the black community. It's sickening. Every big city is and has been under Democrat control for the last 70 years. We have Democrat mayors, city council members, school board members, Democrat controlled education, criminal justice, public works, etc. and what exactly have they done to help the community? Nothing. And when called out on it, they give the same canned answer- "the Republicans are racist!!". It's just sad. If we all come together and FORCE our government to work us, instead of wanting to CONTROL us, we'd have a beautiful country. We have so many problems are home, yet both the Dems and Republicans are handing money out to every two bit nation on earth, meanwhile gas is $5 a gallon, inflation is sky high, our bridges and roads are crumbling, we have kids going to bed hungry, and the Dems are letting millions of illegals pour in who have no way to support themselves financially, so We The People end up having to pay. Does anyone recognize them or enforce them at any level? No. Why? Because, as Shapiro said, those "laws" have been rendered null and void. They no longer apply, and no one looks at them or enforces them. If any nut job in the state were to try to enforce segregation or any one of those racist laws, they'd be laughed out of the courtroom, and then they'd be subject to a civil lawsuit because their civil rights, as assured by Civil Rights Act, were violated. Oh, and 99% of the state would be pissed at the nut job for even trying it, would make his life a living hell, and in all likelihood, he'd have to leave the state. It's that simple. The reason the laws haven't been removed is simple---money. It takes a significant amount of time and money to not just remove something from a state constitution, but to essentially rewrite it. And simply put, there isn't enough interest or political willpower on both sides of the aisle in the state to spend the time and money on this issue when there are more pressing issues that need to be dealt with and addressed----things like education and prison reform immediately come to mind. People who make these claims, such as this person, are looking for strawman arguments to push an empty agenda that normal, every day, level-headed people can see through. And I seriously doubt this guy has lived in Alabama his entire life. Listen to his accent--he's not from Alabama.

The constitution of Alabama is very long and wordy, and therefore I couldn't get myself to read it thoroughly. But wikipedia says there was a recompilation of Alabama constitution, and one of the objective was "removing all racist language". Perhaps if someone else who has actually read the constitution, could tell me if there is still a section in the constitution that promotes segregation, meaning the recompilation has not fulfilled its objective of "removing all racist language".

Don't you know that's the ghetto?" And all the black people were equally terrified of the "white" neighborhoods. But even he acknowledged that the action of the federal government has neutered it. Which kills his argument. So, he did do his homework. The problem is that he has bought into this idea that institutional racism is everywhere, yet he has yet to find a specific instance. He thought he had something, and Ben showed him that he didn't. He, like others on the left, are focused on the wrong thing. Reminds me of the fight to make the NFL team located in Washington to drop its name, the Redskins. They did. But, has it really changed anything? The Left is focused on window dressing. All the things they want to cancel and change won't make anything better. They want more money but basically don't want to put in the work to get it. They all look down on my wife and I because we're the janitors. My friend is a CNN loving Democrat. We have awesome debate's on a regular basis. My question to him on the Systemic Racism issue is a similar question. Name one thing a person in the US cannot do solely based on the color of their skin? Name one job, one government position, one business they cannot start? His response is the same as the gentleman debating Ben. They speak of historical wrongs perpetuating current inequity. So I bring up the examples of other historically wronged peoples who are doing excellent and exceeding peoples who were wronged much less than they were. Then it devolves into the Equity Argument, which I counter with Jordan Peterson's inequity of children raised in the same family, or even the same communities. If you cannot have equity when you have an almost exact same starting point in life, then how can you expect equity from drastically unequal starting points. My friend cannot answer, and usually says we as a United States people simply have to try harder to level the playing field. From these debates I have come to the conclusion of the Enlightenment period that it is up to the individual to do their own best to succeed or fail in life. We either devolve into the failures of Communism or maintain the course of Individualism within a community and continue to benefit and reap the vast rewards of each person doing their best.

My father-in-law decided to pivot from full-time consultant/part-time business professor to full-time professor/part-time consultant. Despite having a lengthy business career, including a stint at GM, a successful consulting business, an MBA, and a Ph.D., he had a lot of trouble finding a position. A lot of people told him that the dean was adamant about finding someone who was black, Hispanic, or a woman. One person said the dean would be ecstatic, if he could find a black woman or Hispanic woman. If anything, that sounds like institutional discrimination against white men.

FYI, for at least 80 years, folks have toyed with the re-writing of the Alabama constitution, and nothing has been done. It is today.....the longest constitution in the world, and filled with dozens of things which have nothing to do with 'rights' or 'functions'. Yet neither party has found any willpower to engage and spend a summer re-writing it.

But now, according to the left, even math and science are racist. They are 100%, absolutely D.I.V.O.R.C.E.D. from reality. And they want to bring the entire system down. It's outright terrifying. The most ironic part of it? The left is the only group keeping racism alive and well. They make everything about race. Their double standard is comical. They have a black man portraying Alexander Hamilton, a very white founding father, yet if the opposite happened, say a white man played Kunta Kinte from "Roots", all hell would break loose and they'd say it's white supremacy and racism.

This is why I love Einstein the way the man seen life and understood it. “Everyone is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid. Bottom line everybody's abilities are different everybody can read and write but retaining what we read makes us smarter than others and the goals we reach for to learn the next level of intelligence we are our own destiny.

What he's getting to is all of us are a genius in our own way but when you judge another by their own abilities and you keep making them feel belittled then they lived their whole life feeling they are stupid cuz of others. I can remember a school teacher Mr. Bur in 7th grade tell me one time I wasn't going to not going to mount to nothing huh twenty years later I showed him my two houses an my 55 ft and my 27 ft yachts, yacht class starts from 25 feet up, I told him to look at my dock picture I sent him, 27ft upon my winch part of my dock out of the water 55ft beside the dock. I hear these words good job I said don't ever tell somebody they can't do something isn't it amazing the imprint he put on my mind I disliked him from that day, cuz I'm not the only one he's ever said it to he didn't deserve to be a teacher. The mind is a powerful object it can take you around the world and back many times it all depends what you set your goals to and how much do you want it.

Exactly! Racism exists. It doesn’t exist in our laws today though, except for affirmative action. I feel like that’s racist. Past racist laws have had an affect on todays outcome, but they’ve been changed & are correcting themselves over time. We can’t fix something like racism over night. It will take time. That doesn’t mean that people are all racist today because of the past laws. I feel like some have take racism & used it to their advantage so much that it’s hard to take it seriously when someone claims racism against another. I now automatically don’t believe it until I investigate & find out for myself. Its like the boy who cried wolf.
