Very good video Robert, I never believed the general consensus of setting the bevel on a 1k stone. Sometimes I use my Naniwa Chosera 400, or the Shapton glass stone 500 grit. Even the 600 DMT.

I think anything with a blade attracts some weird boy brained men so all the culture and talk about things like knives and razors is polluted with this heavy influence of basically teenage male brains. So much bullshit involved. You don't need anything more aggressive than that 1k chosera, the reason the choseras are good is because if you notice the scratch pattern every single one of those chosera leave on the steel is top quality. Shapton is harder, less friable, slower wearing and still cuts just as good if not better. But the chosera has many great qualities the other lacks like having a very similar feel and experience to a traditional waterstone but the convenience of a hard slow wearing good cutting splash and go, and the one thing the chosera does best is the scratches they leave. This aspect it's better than shapton. Anyway look. For razors, I've fixed chips with polishing stones like 5k shapton pro. What you want for razors is a VERY FINE sharpening stone, then a finishing stone. That's all you need. The best stones for this are super stones because this is what they are for. If the razor is not chipped all you need is one stone at most. A strop is all you need. If the razor needs "bevel set" then I'd use something like a 4k shapton glass, which is the finest grit sharpening stone in that line, the next one up the 6k is a finisher. Or I would use a 3k chosera, which again is the finest sharpening stone in that line. Those are the 2 best. I would not use anything lower than that on any razor I own ever. From there, the best finishing stone I've ever seen and is a great value is the 12k super stone. That's all you need. From there you could strop on something like 0-.05 um diamond or whatever you like, then a hanging strop to convex it. My point is.. lots of idiots in razor world think you need 80 stones. You need 1 stone for razors. At most you need 2 stones. What you really need is a good strop. A good hanging strop, leather and denim or something like this. And you need 1 flat strop, I like to use balsa wood, and I like to diamond powder. With this you don't need any stones. I can set a bevel with just diamond powder on wood, easily too if you wanted, but I use stone. 5k shapton pro can set bevel and is also fine enough to skip 12k ss and go straight to the flat strop. I think its 1 insane anyone who puts a razor on anything below a fine sharpening stone. 1k chosera is the most aggressive I would ever agree to use, and even then you do not want to take it all the way to apex because the worst thing you can do is creating burrs on razors. Take it 90% to apex then switch to a finer stone, then a finisher, then strop. Or just use 2 stones, 1 fine sharpener like a 3k chosera, 1 finisher like a 12k SS. Then strops. This is all anyone needs to do anything for razor. Anyone that thinks you need more stones is crazy and not understanding reality This 320 grit is a course grinding stone made for fixing broken tools like double edge knives. It should never be used on something like a razor or even shears. This thing is for course grinding, not even for making sharp edges. Razors are so delicate, such little edge steel, and uses such easily abraded steel, you can use only 1 polishing stone to do everything for a razor, including create the bevel. What you will do to he razor with this stone is remove much steel fast and create terrible burr in the process, then you will be struggling to reduce or remove that burr for the rest of the time. Its silly, foolish
