Praba Garan that always doesn’t mean everything is great. It helps to have that much money, but he obviously loves and cares deeply about his friends and family. And Kobe and GIgi were his family.
@illegal alien I love my best friend with all my heart. If I were to lose her, it doesn't matter how much money you could give me. I'd always feel that pain
Not underrated to me. Everyday we face so many ways we can die. Odds are you'll be fine but someday the odds may be against you. For that reason, everyday single day before I leave my home I say the same mantra, asking my angels to keep me safe, and before I close the door to my home, I take one last look inside and have the hope that it won't be the last 🙏
Seriously, we never leave our home never expecting to return at the end of the day. We sometimes take life for granted being angry, stressed etc we all as humans need to learn the true gift of life and I believe it’s making memories and loving. Some of us put making money first when in fact we should be making memories.
When I had a child, I realized the importance of getting home safe. Because I want to spend all my time woth them, my family. It is underrated for those who does not realize it yet.
This was one of the darkest days in sports… seriously, this just shattered millions of hearts all over the globe. Shaq was showing what we were all feeling.
The whole country felt off that day. I'm not saying it was as bad as 9/11 but it was similar to me. It was a gloomy day. I remember exactly what I was doing, where I was, what I did for the rest of the day, etc.
It hits me when he was talking about their last meeting. He ended it with a diss at Kobe. Albiet jokingly, but he hates that this was the way he sees Kobe last. It's like, he said what he said cause he KNEW Kobe was coming back and to try and think of a comeback. But he didn't come back...
Man, I start crying every time when Shaq tells the crew “I don’t talk to you guys as much as I need to”. We’re all so caught up in raising our families, school, sports , etc. We don’t take the time to vent and let it out.
Exactly he knows his friends are similiar in age as he is and the saddest part of this is when you feel you could have done more like checking on your loved ones with the short time you have with them.
@@Angus6687 yeah. They had announced it right when they were trying to figure out who was all on the helicopter at the time. They kept rumors going that Rick Fox was on the copter. I think the worst news was when everyone found out Gianna was on the flight. That just broke everyone's heart. 😥😥😥😥
@@Angus6687 what also surprises me is that he calls Kobe the best ever when he played against the best ever back in 92 till 2003. That just shows the respect that he had for Kobe. That said a helluvalot about Shaq's character. Now that I said that Kobe will always be the closes to Jordan that we will ever see in our lifetime.
I feel the same way, something about his death just touched my soul. It’s not that he was this larger than life type personality, his humbleness and passion for life made him relatable.
That, and when you think of the possibility of his death... Its like 1 in 12000000 with current technology Also can i point out the fact they didnt have parachutes, like YOUR CARRYING THE MOST LEGENDARY BASKETBALL PLAYER(except maybe mj but that opinion wise)AND YOU DONT THINK "HUH, What if the helicopter has a flaw, or the pilot get food poisoning or something, then what am i gonna do?... Nah its fine it wont faaaalll...."
"We lost probably the world's greatest Laker," that's so brutal coming from Shaq. Everyone knows the legacies of both of these men were always tied together and Shaq pretty much never openly acquiesced to the idea that Kobe was better than him. Hearing him say that under those circumstances was maybe the most heartbreaking display of humble respect I've ever seen. I'm feeling like I need to call my dad and my sisters to tell them that I love them.
Kobe wasn't 'better' than Shaq...he just played in LA longer. Shaq's Lakers resume is better than Kobe's on an individual level in fewer years. More Finals MVP's and same regular season MVP's in 12 fewer years.
@@manuginobilisbaldspot424 yeah right Shaq have gotten those Finals MVP by "dominating" bumass centers in the finals, meanwhile Kobe got the best perimeter defenders of the era while having equal contribution to the whole 2001 postseason and carrying Shaq ass through the whole 2002 playoffs (finals against Nets was already a given win). Seasonal MVPs are also popularity contests, not a measure of greatness, and we all know media hated Kobe back then because of the Colorado case. And your argument is invalid since you're saying Shaq's accomplishments by being a Laker demolishes Kobe because he had been in Lakers longer than Shaq. Nope. That's the most stupid thing I've ever seen in RU-vid in a while. Shaq winning those MVPs should already be expected as he was the best big man of the time and was on prime mode compared to a 21-23 years old player just about to enter his prime. It's like saying Rodman was the better Laker than Pau Gasol because of his whole resume while only being a Laker for a year. See the absurdity? Stop reaching. Kobe is the best Laker because he holds the most records for the franchise, even Magic and the owners already admitted that fact, so nobodies and wannabe experts can't deny this. Also, if you're gonna say because he played there for 20 years, that's the point. It's rare for a player to even play 10-13 years in the league, even moreso in a lone franchise. That's not a demerit to his achievements but is actually a proof that he's dedicated, something new players today severly lack.
When Ernie tried to keep him protected and tried to move on, what a true friend. What a partner. This is such a beautiful moment, I know it's been awhile but hope you're okay Shaq. You're a true big brother and a true human. All love to everyone who has been connected to these people
I have, and he is a wonderful guy. Also, sure he didn't remember me, but I mentioned I just lost my father to him and watching him and the guys on Inside the NBA helped distract me for a while, he sent me a private message wishing me condolences and telling me about his feelings when he lost Sarge. Dude is real, he is genuine, and he is a class act. He won't bullshit you either. He's top two in Heroes I've met. He and Macho Man Randy Savage were the two most awesome of my childhood heroes that I met.
“I work, we laugh. We kid, we joke. But when I get back home and look at reality...” damn that shit hits hard as hell for anyone who’s lost someone and had to go back to an empty house each night
DJSUNDOWN yes but imagine losing your sister and on top of that the person you won 3 championships with. He’s known Kobe since Kobe was 18 and watched him grow as a man and a player. It’s like losing a little brother, anybody would go crazy
Doesn't always have to be your own residence but a house you visit every so often and the same usual faces you know, you know what i mean? Pretty much.
this man was in absolute pain. him talking out loud about this on tv took real bravery, and actively changing the way he wants to live so he can show more love to the people he loves is real champion material
I'm a female. I wish more men understood why it's important. men are so much more than their pee pees and paychecks. y'all deserve to be happy, healthy, well rounded, stable individuals.
@@nshekhar well they honestly aren’t anymore. Couldn’t keep the connection. And you’re very right. It’s hard to find people who want to genuinely connect.
We all miss him ❤️ he was a real inspiration and a part of the NBA world of greats that we will never forget!! He lives on in heaven 🙏 ❤️ and his daughter too.
It’s strange, Kobe’s death is just now hitting me as a real thing. For a minute, it was like we were all in some different timeline where this wasn’t real.
Honestly with Shaq, when I first heard the news I thought it was some jacka** with a sick sense of humor, I got mad every time someone told me it happened. (People fake news all the time nowadays). Looked into the news myself as it became more established, and it turned into harsh reality.. they will all be missed
watching him admit how hard it is to express and show emotion as a man, is too real. crying is normal, reaching out is the RIGHT thing to do. I hope this brought them closer as a crew, and communication improved. bless ya big guy…
I wasn't aware Shaq suffered so much loss in family. I definitely can relate (3 deaths back to back). The most difficult thing to deal with is death which come in multiples. It's like a black cloud looming over you. RIP to them all.
@@bellarue3065 Yeah I can relate alot to this I grew up in a Tuff neighborhood wasn't always bad but turned bad over the years plus I'm from a Big Family. Lost alot of Friend's & Family due to Drug's, Gun Voilence/Jealousy, Cancer, Accidents, Old Age YOU NAME IT! Multiple deaths at the same time. Seen It ALL. Sad thing is I'm so numb to it now🙏🏽
We need to cherish Shaq everyday he is here. People who aquire his type of wealth and fame "change". This man has remained 100% grounded and cares more about people than ever before. He's so genuine. All ages, races, religions, all of us love you Shaq.
You can tell when he said that it struck a nerve with him. He started to break down inside. I bet he's had a lot of hard nights keeping things to himself.
This still hits the same as it did when it just announced and the vid just came out… life gets better eventually but it’s not the same when something like this happens in someone’s life
You can always tell when someone is speaking from the heart because there is no hesitation or recitation. Just pure unadulterated emotion and sincerity. And it hits like a fucking semi
I was in boot camp when this happened and it was so grueling at the time we didn’t fully get the emotional impact until much later. 3 years later and I’m silently weeping at the anguish of so many people over such a great man. It’s palpable and it gives me hope that more good people like Kobe and all the others who died before their time gift their talent and purpose to another worthy soul.
Shaq your a tremendous human being ! Thank you Brother for showing all of us that even a NBA Center & classy man can show real genuine emotion . Men have a difficult time in this society many times talking about their fears , emotions, & just explaining what's on their minds ! Sent me back to in 2004 ; was at a park in Colorado with my favorite Brother . He said I'm going to the restroom : never saw him again alive ; committed suicide ! That pain hit me so hard I couldn't sleep sound for 6 months. I feel your pain Shaq. Would really love to meet you in person ; give you a big hug man and just talk about what really counts in this LIfe . Faith , Family , & the few really good friends . Life is Precious !Warmest Regards , Gary Garyotennis@gmail.com 303 898-5909
True that! Never seen Shaq cry in my lifetime. We fan need to rest up the case btw them two. Besides they are just 2 fierce competitors. Let's Kobe R.I.P. really REST IN PEACE.
8/18/23 watching this again...And it still hurts, as tears fill my eyes. No words suffice the emotions 😢 💔. One of the absolute best to ever lace them up. Kobe Bean Bryant purple 💜 gold 💛 #8 & #24.
Man this hurt to rewatch 4 years later on the day Kobe’s statue outside of the Staples Center gets unveiled. Shaq, you’re an amazing human being and I can honestly say that everyone on this earth loves you. And there’s just no words to describe the heart breaking pain of losing a human being as remarkable an individual, a one of a kind soul and just a special person like Kobe Bryant. But I do stop and think about what Kobe did in life and and have dedicated, motivated and driven he was to leaving a truly inspiring and forever lasting legacy on not just the sport but on the world. The fact that he put in the work and then put in some more and more and more and knowing that it paid off in his life and it will continue to pay off as his legacy, as the Mamba Mentality, will forever motivate and inspire so many people forever in his afterlife. Everyone can learn something from Kobe and that’s to never stop grinding. You are never perfect, no one’s perfect. So that means you can always make yourself better in every aspect of your life. Love you Kobe. To Kobe, Gigi and the other individuals whose lives were tragically cut short that day………. You are all greatly missed but will never be forgotten. Rest in paradise
Yeah my guy has been really going through it but you'd never know it. You can tell the NBA on TNT crew is definitely a family he loves being around because you would never be able to tell he's been going through so much when he is around those guys.
i didn’t grow up watching kobe and he wasn’t a player i necessarily looked up to, but seeing how much this affects not only one of his former teammates and the millions of people mourning him to this day, i broke. seeing such a strong guy shed tears and start to lose control of his emotions is extremely hard to watch almost 3 years later. rest in peace kobe.
Same i was sad because no one deserves to go out like that, but when i heard his daughter was with him and many others were with them it was truly horrifying. I hadnt cried for a sports idol death like that ever
Kobe Bean, Shaq & MJ are my favorite bballers. I’m just a fan but to this day I still get emotional thinking of Vanessa & the girls losing the most important figure in their lives & knowing the sweet young angel that didn’t get to meet all her milestones & best dreams on earth. Gotta have faith & just live a mamba life.❤🙏🏽
@The Josh Gilchrist Network After he said that, for some reason, my room suddenly became filled with pollen or dust, because my eyes teared up all of a sudden!
Shaq is the epitome of a man. Nothing wrong with a man crying. I seen my dad cry twice. This is the only time I’ve ever seen Shaq cry. A good humble man who is hurting for his brother. All these years later and I’m watching this crying with him.
I really hope the big guy takes care of himself. Shaq’s been a part of our lives in the same way Kobe was, and I don’t think I’ve ever seen him so heartbroken
I have just watched their interview over again .In the final words, kobe said, "we did it" . What better can explain their strong friendship? They always have been part of our family ,and now ,i feel that i lost my little brother like shaq....This is not a tragedy ;this is more than that... As nicholson say, there is a big hole in the wall and the worst part is that nobody knows how to mend it.....
Almost 1 Year Later and I still can't believe it. We can only imagine now what Kobe and Gigi would have done in the next coming years. We got robbed of so much.
Shaq has a heart thats bigger than the planet that contains him. His generosity from helping random people on the streets to the love and respect he has for Kobe is heartwarming and profound. You can see the pain in his eyes at the loss of kobe. This is one reason why i love sports in particular basketball.
He's such a big man. It's not that I didn't know he had feelings. It's watching such an epic man being taken down so hard by his grief. It just brings home how much it hurt him.
Love Shaq! To meet him someday is on my bucket list. He's a man of true class, heart of gold, genuine human being! All men & women, for that matter, should strive to be as caring & compassionate as Shaq is to ALL PEOPLE!
Bro Hearing Shaq Cry Legit Made Me Break Down Just Now In My College Library, This Is So Unreal Right Now, I Cried So Much Man, Sports Is More Than Just Entertainment, It Brings Us Together As A People ✊🏽
@@rjjohn2241 I'm not 100 percent sure about Illuminati free Mason and blood sacrifices but it's just every season some celebrity is dead dying or have criminal charges and or family members dead or in jail
I can’t believe this is coming up to a year ago. Kobe, gianna and the other victims of the crash will forever be in our hearts. This is still heartbreaking to watch and forever will be.
Jose Posada hop tf off NOW i’m done with these bullshit kids that are cold hearted af. SHUT THE F U C K UP so what if he hated him for one thing?? it HURTS if you got a heart, YOU DONT HAVE A HEART
It the most wen shaq said we won’t be able to laugh at gis hof speech wondering if they would’ve stayed would they win more chips together that hit the most for me
Seeing a man of that size and stature lose a person they loved (among many others as he stated), just shows how amazing the quality of calmness he can provide knowing he is on TV showing his emotions. Im sorry Shaq. We all loved you and Kobe, fans or not. You both were true definitions of brothers. Of course, it's also extremely sad to hear his daughter passed as well. I just thank you all for the wholesome love that is truly shown through this.
This was the most raw and emotional speech I’ve ever heard from an athlete. This was real and from the heart, and I have so much respect for Shaq for opening himself up like this on national tv, especially on such a soar topic
@@eddogg22 in a different timeline/ alternate reality / parallel universe kobe is alive and the crash never happened. everything after that moment would be exponentially different from this current reality. maybe even covid19 doesnt exist in this timeline. hopefully that made sense 💀
Rasar Amani 150,000 die each day bro we are lucky to be alive another day and we are lucky to still have family. Call on the Lords name and follow him for he is the one who gives us life, this life is so short and meaningless without him. Imagine eternity without pain, suffering, etc. Seek the Lord with all your heart mind and soul and you will find him. Jesus is waiting on your call, if we abide in him and if we obey him we may be forgiven and we may have everlasting life.
Kobe didn't die forever.. he will be in Eternal Life, We all love you Shaq! please be okay all of us need you to be strong receive a tight hugg from me and my son's
Maria Gonzalez how would you know that? to my knowledge he was catholic, so this would be false. Jesus said “I am the way the truth and the life no man comes to the Father but by me.” No where does it say to pray to Mary no where does it say to confess to a priest. The Bible says have no idles. How can we love the lord with our heart mind and soul when we give all our time to an idle? I truly hope that Kobe repented and became a born again Christian. For through Christ is the only way.
