As a father, what Kenny shared in his story is absolutely true. It doesn't matter what activity or sport my daughter is involved in, it is having the time to share the moments and build memories together. What hurts me most about this tragedy is Kobe was doing exactly what all parents do each weekend....spending time with the kids and nurturing their growth.
As a “soccer mom” that’s what hit me the most as well! 3 teammates gone. I carpool the 5 kids in my car to every game and sport and that’s honestly one of my biggest fears getting in an accident with this kids. I know it doesn’t help my mom died in a car accident at 28. So definitely a huge fear of mine
Charles right. These are countless people who lost someone that day. Think of how many lives personally are ruined by this. You never get over it either.
@King Zartan They may be forgotten for some people but the family will never forget. My Mom died 41 years ago and I think about her every day. Life has to go on but you never forget.
@Larry Nelson well people die in car crashes, plane crashes, bicycle accidents, walking, train accidents, etc. Should we all just stay indoors forever then?
Charles "I''m not a role model" Barkley.. you sir are a role model. You speak the truth acknowledging there were other lives lost in that tragedy and you had the cajones to admit you should've given condolences to Joe and Pam Bryant. Many parents lost their kids in this tragedy and you sir are a role model.
tvekelectric as worst boy said, we’re with you. Heck I don’t even know why I’m sad. I guess seeing Shaq (+inside the nba fam) and Jerry west over the years..
Chuck is a real dude. He publicly acknowledged and reminded the world about the other 7 people who perished in the crash while the rest of the world glossed over the fact and just focused on Kobe and his daughter. Nonetheless, RIP Kobe, Gigi, and all of the other unnamed people involved in this tragic accident. Thanks for being you Charles Barkley.
@@mrbitches1787 okay bro stop acting tough. A whole family was killed on that crash it’s sad for all involved no need to be a dick you keyboard warrior
@@mrbitches1787 shouldve been you on that helicopter instead of the people that died that day, wouldn’t even be a story in the news thats what an insignificant piece of crap you are
Rip to Kobe the multi millionaire and the other multimillionaires who lost their lives that day. Hope we can remember the civilian Muslims that are being killed every single day because of their countries resources and because they follow the only true religion all the prophets God brought down to earth. Dying for those reasons is sad to me. Let’s hope we don’t support that cause and then cry about millionaires who are famous dying. It would be awkward and hipocritical of us if we do that.
I can see why my older cousin admired him so much. He loved Barkley & followed him everywhere he went. I was the same way w/ my idol Allen Iverson. 76ers, Nuggets, Pistons, Grizzlies, 76ers again & then Beskitas.
This entire journey since Jan 26th has taught me so much 1. Seeing how the whole world has stopped disagreeing and arguing but instead has set that aside to help support one another through this horrible nightmare 2. Life is too short and we can't take it for granted 3. Kobe wasn't just a basketball player...he was an Oscar winner, an author, an ambassador for women's basketball but most important he was a father who loved his family more than anything which is what I will remember most about him - Something I think that is really great to see all of the men and boys feeling ok to express their emotions because everyone is allowed to especially in times like this Kobe...Gianna...I hope you two are building a women's basketball dream team that dominates for centuries. Vanessa will continue your family life, while the rest of the world continues to keep your husband's basketball legacy relevant for years and to the families and friends who were close to any of the other 7 who died, I hope you are able to recover from this horrible tragedy that hopefully no one else has to experience
How sad it is to be some pretentious tough guy and needs to learn from all of this just to know that a guy is allowed to show their emotions.. Must be a pathetic kind of society & way of life to live that way but at least you've learned now.
Man I can’t wake up from this bad dream. Kobe was such an inspiration. This really shows how fragile life is. Fly high Mamba and Gigi and the 7 other crash victims💜💛
Keep talking and sharing stories. You guys need this. It’s heartbreaking for people who don’t even know him. It must be 1000000000 times worse for those who did.
I love Charles Barkley for saying that it's not just Kobe. The entire thing is devastating, 3 teenage girls, parents and coaches. Dude is spot on here.
I still can’t believe this is real, this is such a tragic and I just want to send all my Prayers To Kobe and The Bryant Family and all the other Victims R.I.P to KOBE & GIGI 🙏🏽❤️
youdabruv obviously I care about the other people I thought I did spell it but thanks for taking the time for checking that my guy truly appreciate it, so now stop being a bitch and put your mindset right and worry about the tragic ness that been going on through the years
It's so hard to believe. I was 10 when Kobe got drafted. It was an honor to witness your entire career. RIP Legend. People die but legacies live forever. Kobe Bryant (1978 - Forever)
Charles Barkley is the man. He mentions the pain other families are going through, and "they are people too" Nobody else says that much. Always the celebrities first.
ᗩᗰEᖇGE *naw he was already getting there, it was more of a celebration, Ali finished his life, this took a toll cuz he took his daughter and other little girls and people with*
For it reminded me of the shock when Ayrton Senna died in 1994, and then the death Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997. Especially when I used to see hear near Kensington Palace.
Thank you Charles Barkley for also speaking caringly about the rest of the victims in that tragedy, their families are in so much pain and grief and anguish...
Charles Barkley is such an unbelievable person. He is so genuine and human. It's great that he highlighted the fact that there were seven other people on the flight and he is right that he mentioned this in his statement. He is right - it's extremely sad.
bronx bully I definitely would we just lost a young man from my hometown in Montgomery Alabama I didn’t know him personally but I knew of him plus we was fb friends as well He was gunned down on Live seeing that was heartbreaking my heart aches for his kids and family especially one of his kids because she lost both parents to gun violence.. We gotta live laugh and love while we can we never no the minute nor the hour 🙏🏽
I can agree with Charles Barkley when he mentions these other people. I felt so bad for Kobe and Gianna that there were time I even forgot about the 7 other people who died with them
Kenny smith said some beautiful words about Kobe and how he was as a family man and father. That’s #1. THAT’S what life is about. My thoughts and prayers to everyone affected by this awful, awful, unthinkable tragedy. RIP Kobe & Gigi 💛💜
Man it’s impossible to imagine how that would make you feel. You were jogging yesterday right there then the next day that helicopter crashed right there…
Thank you so much Charles Barkley for mentioning and voicing for the 7 other victims. I pray that they get addressed and we can know more about the other people whom also died in the horrific tragedy that occurred. RIP I’ll keep them all in my thought. God bless them all.
Charles keeps it real. Much respect. Kobe was a great father and loved how he was focusing on his daughters when he retired. He will be missed. R.I.P. Kobe and GiGi.
I love what Charles Barkley said, beautiful words! Yes, we love Koby and our hearts go out to his family....That means his wife and children, FIRST.....Now, we can't help what happened between him and his parents....but they lost a child....his sisters lost a brother...and so on......Please, let's not forget the other 7 that lost their lives....They have families that are hurting too....I don't know the OTHER 7 by name.....and I don't know Koby, personally.....but I've been falling down on my knees praying for ALL that are hurting from losing their loved ones... Please, let's keep praying for them and each other......At a time like this, we NEED each other....Please don't leave GOD out... .The only way we're going to truly heal is if we LEAN on him......
YOOOOO, I was also in the movies seeing The Gentleman when I found out ... Charles spoke very well, and covered a lot of views that others were feeling too
Although I am a devout Lakers fan, Sir Charles is one of my all-time favorite players and commentators because of his honesty and because of his no b/s philosophy and his style of basketball. That is what makes him so special. When he made that "what about the rest of the people that died in this horrible accident" is exactly what I am talking about! Terrible tragedy for all the families involved. My love to "all of those" who died.
We love you Kobe and Gigi until the end of time. Prayers to Vanessa, The Bryant Family, and to all the others who died in the accident. Rest In Paradise Kobe and Gigi.
Thank u Kobe for the memories.Being born in 75" & watching the NBA since a child.Only #2 players, whenever the ball was in their hands.U "knew" something special was gonna happen. That's MJ & Kobe!!!Prayers go out to ALL the families that were affected by this tragedy 🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank-you Sir Charles, for showing respect to every family that had someone pass away in that horrific accident. Because the people who passed away in that accident. Could be heroes to their family.
Young Black Conservative I saw something that said that the helicopter was old and wasn’t properly checked and handled, and the conditions were not the best, so u cant blame all the deaths on one person. That’s just rude, have some simpathy
Ty Charles for acknowledging all the other victims and their families. I agree that the media focused too much on Kobe as if the others were a sub topic.
@@kevinlee9929 , I know right, we have to put this narrative in it's context. All lives are precious and valuable but we would not know of this huge tragedy if it were not for Kobe.
CRAIG PRICE One of the single greatest decision Kobe made for himself and his daughter in his whole life on the day he died was going to church and receiving Holy Communion because he would meet his maker in a matter of hours and God being the faithful Father that he is welcomed Kobe and his daughter TO THE KINGDOM " that shall never pass away!
Exactly....same way I felt. Everyone acted as if there was only two people on the helicopter. Back in the day, Don Cornelius met "everyone" on the stage singers, bass, percussion, drums, etc after a performance. I dont even know who the other cutie is on The Breakfast Club, only 3 people are mentioned. We have to wake up people.
Dear people. I feel your pain. Please be strong for Kobe's sake. Charles, I wont forget the 1993 NBA finals. Me and my late dear father woke up in the middle of the night watching you and michael goes had to had. All of the NBA family have huge part of shaping the lives of millons of people around the world. Please dear guys, be strong for the sake of Kobe god bless his soul.
i coached my sons from elementary to high school and kenny is right, i always enjoyed spending time with my kids and coaching them gave me the greatest bond! All parents should explore coaching it's very rewarding!
Love the respect Charles speaks with saying he should have acknowledged is father and mother. This is why they are the best. Wisdom is the principle think but in all the getting get and understanding.
Chuck is just so honest and real, met him at a grocery store in NJ where I live he was so cool no problem took a pic with me and shook his hand... RIP kobe!
Now January 26th will be double as hard. Three years ago on the same day, my family lost our father. I know exactly how everyone especially his daughters feel. My only blessing is, I got to grow up with mine. May God take care of everyone's families involved.
When I see these greats together I start crying, because I lived to watch these greats play at their prime and to see them now really hits home and I just wish I can reverse the clock to relive those moments where life was fun and happy. RIP to all who died in this tragic accident.
@@jmsnails12 I know right. I started getting mad thinking about how im gonna get teary eyed again when they make a video edit of Kobe doing a move and his daughter doing a similar move and they blend the 2 together. You know its coming for Superbowl weekend.
Being a football fan It hurts when a sports person dies. Kobe was a legend, he still is. Honestly i never watched basketball all the time. But i have watched kobe bryant play because he made the game special and worth watching. RIP KOBE 💔
Great respect to all of you. People don't realize that all of you are human. I'm so sorry that you lost a close friend. I wish there is a way I could take the pain away. Thank you all for sharing. My condolence goes out to all the families we lost somebody that day0
Grew up playing soccer and kobe was alwas a higlight growing up when I found watching tv at a local restaurant my gut and chest felt soomwthing i never had felt besides when my grandma passed so i can only imagine what everyone together has felt it was difficult to comprehend
Charles was my all-time favorite player growing up.....and he's grown to become an even better public figure representing joe guy. Authentic. Wow, what a loss for all of those families. I can't wrap my mind around it.
I love sir Charles for speaking the truth! Kenny’s story is super relatable so real. The pain that shaq went thru in the last 12months is crazy. Rip to Kobe, Gigi and the rest of the victims from the crash.
Kenny Smith thank you for articulating the words that describe the pain so many of us feel. Kobe's post basketball career as a father may have been more powerful than his stardom. He was more relatable, even though one didn't personally known him.
This definitely feels like Aaliyah’s death. She was my “idol” (aka a person i much admired at age 10 not idol in a sense of the replacement of God). I wanted to dress like her sing like her be like her. And when i heard she had died in a plane crash, man!!! Same feeling rig now.
I'm sorry for your guys' loss. I'm sorry for the family's of everyone involved loss. I'm sorry for all those fans who adored him's loss. Kobe and all that passed... RIP. Ive felt the pain of those involved but each person experiences it differently. Don't be scared to lean on those around you. We all want to help. Regardless of our differences we aren't that different. Love each other. This comment goes out to anyone experiencing loss of a loved one. We're here for you.
For the first time, everyone comes together and mourns for the lost lives in that helicopter. From Kobe and his daughter to the pilot and the other families, my heart goes out to them and the families that were involved. I’ve been through many losses yet nothing felt like this before. For the first time, I was hoping someone was planning a demented joke and would’ve been okay if it was a joke. Love you Kobe and Gigi. I was never a fan because you destroyed Wade every single time but your last season was when I first realized that you still meant so much to me. You were an enemy to me on the court but there was always respect that I didn’t even know I had for you. I watched your final game live and cheered for you and was in awe when you dropped 60. You were doing amazing things after and I started to follow you and became a huge follower and fan. The fact that you had so many great things ahead of you and you were such a role model to literally every person out there. Look over us and I hope you’re resting in peace with all the other lives that were lost.
Kudos to Charles, in particular, for being honest about his relationship with Kobe. And also for acknowledging the other folks who lost their lives. Because, lots of lives were lost in the tragedy, which left many families devastated. So, it sound be all about Kobe and his daughter. My condolences to all their families.
I have the utmost respect for Charles for being so real and honest. Much love to you for acknowledging ALL that was killed alongside Kobe & his daughter. They are real people and was loved by so many as well. My Deepest & Sincerest Condolences to their families🙏🏽. Aloha from Hawaii❤️
Charles a real man. Didn’t make up stories and mentioned other 7 people who lost lives. Kobe died doing the things he loved while taking care of the people he loved.
