The genesis of the explosion of Nigerian music started with kenny ogungbe and dayo adeneye. This two guys revolutionized the Nigerian music industry kudos to you guys. You can't be forgotten
I don't know if Egbon Teju understands wat he is doing; this is documentation of history, it's truly highly commendable. I want Teju to know that the history books will be kind to him too. I truly enjoyed this episode. Enlightening 🙌🙌🙌
Goosebumps all over me seeing this gem💎. Baba D1!!! You shaped the Nigerian entertainment industry that we have today. You struggled for it and laid the foundation. You maid the wannabes broadcasters and entertainers believe that they have a chance, a future. You touched our lives and took away boredom (that may have led to depression) with your lively programs and with all those Nigerian hits. THANK YOU SIR!! Take a bow.
Prior to "Mi o shakor mo".... we had Alex O, Alex Zitto, Majek Fashek, Dizzy K Falola, Kris Okotie, Edna Okoli.... Many of us listened to those egbons on radio OYO, BCOS etc..... Kudos to Baba Keke and D1.... They did a massive boost to the industry, history would never forget them...Great Job, Teju!
D one (Otunba) has always been a calm person n wisdom personified. Kennis Music n Prime Time really set the pace. Baba Keke n D one are lovable persons.
Sir Shina Peters that student will stop on their way to school and dance to his music been played by the road side record sellers 😂infact, his music was band because students were going late to school. Baba D1 and Baba Kenny. Legends in their own right ❤ Teju baby face, you do this one🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
The fact that we don't properly honour game changers in our country is a problem. The late Raymond Dokpesi, Keke Ogunbe and D1 are easily the most important influence on what we call Afrobeats today. That's a fact that cannot be underestimated.
Mr Teju is steadily creating historical and timeless content for the next generation and generations to come. Thank you sir, for all you do! Asides being entertained, I get little nuggets of wisdom from each interview.👏🏾👏🏾 Uncle D1 looks awesome for his age! Can't wait to see who comes on next! Kind regards, Mr Da-Silva.
OGBC 2 had trailblazed what a revamped FM station was meant to be, RAYPOWER was off the hook when they came on, they transformed what an FM station ought to be, an amazing blessing to everyone that loved entertainment wayback. Clapperboard was in existence before then, DBN was also cruising befor3 AIT..... Life was good.... These men deserve NATIONAL HONOURS ...They do!
Teju, with a sense of humility, is hard for me to watch one-hour videos; I don't comment on RU-vid videos, let alone argue with people. I am not only loving your videos, but I sometimes don't want it to end and enjoy the conversation. You are simply brilliant and uniquely unique. Since I have found you on RU-vid, I usually look forward to your next drops. You've added a subscriber!
The most captivating word "We owe the generation coming, our stories, our life, our culture, our failures, the privilege we had as citizens of Nigeria" 🎉🎉🎉D1, baba Keke is scarce this days, trust all is well🫡
King of talk for a reason 🙌 Teju is the only host that make sure he satisfy the viewers by pushing reasonable questions to the guest and also touches every part of the conversation like a pro_______ All I can see his Grace of continuity and consistency…..MORE GRACE 🔥
Absolutely beautiful interview with D1, he has always been a complete Gentleman he still has his steeze even in his 60s. God will continue to keep u sir.
I was talking to my son today about music due to his love for rap, this conversation being held on this platform is exactly what we were talking about. You don't assume that the music you listen to today had no history. Being able to go back to history goes a long way to understanding the message. It's not just music for music sake. Give something back in the music and secure longevity. We here the names of the greats more in this conversation and I applaud it. Thank you Teju and D1. 🙏🏾🙏🏾
A topnotch podcast from the King of Talk... Much respect to my mentor and role model@D1Adeneye. We have only met once, and that was during his time as a Commissioner in Ogun State. He was having his early morning jogging exercise, while I was going to my Private School teaching hustle. I stopped to exchange greetings with him and he honoured it. We even took a couple of shots. Thanks for all the priceless memories sir.
What i learnt from this interview is the fact that the seeds you sow today are not for you. They will provide shed for the generations coming after you. The canopy you provided is still covering so many today. Well done, Sir. 😊🎉🎉🎉
Teju baby face the King of Talk. Thank you so much for brought Nigeria's Music Game Changers. D1 Known as Otunba Dayo Adeneye. D1 and Baba Keke Ogunbe have done tremendous and most significant contributions towards Nigeria Music Industry. Which many Nigerians Music Artists are enjoying today. Certainly they paved the way for many Nigerians Music Artists. They both deserve National Honours from Nigeria Federal Government based on their Incredible contributions towards Nigeria Music Industry.
@jacksonjoseph8563 We see you, brother. Thanks for constantly watching and commenting. Your comments are consistently kind. We wish you greatness in all things. Good person.
@@theTejubabyfaceThank you so much for your incredible word of response received. Please continues with the tremendous amount of good works. God Blessed The More.
I kept telling people that these two were the ones that made it possible for what we are enjoying today. I remember I wasn't happy watching or listening to them but it wasn't long before I join in and started loving it. Kudos to them and I personally love this man Mr Dayo D One.
Nice interview. This should temper down the attitude of current unnecessarily egoistic artistes. That they remain humble, thoughtful and plan ahead while remaining on the cutting edge of their crafts
Teju you know in Nigeria the best are never honoured. Can you imagine that despite Nike gallery popularity all over the world she is yet to be honoured by the Nigerian government. So I am not surprised at their plight.
Very inspiring and insightful conversation. Essential takeaway: no one stays at the top forever... Plan ahead for success and invest wisely for the rainy days.
There are few personalities that can make me watch a one hour interview, Teju babyface is one of them, good job and i like the way Baba D1 answered most questions with a bit of humour.
Hi Teju, thank you for this. The nostalgic feeling I have is second to none. Great D1. Teju your organisation is just superb. Despite you know most of your guests so well, you still take your time to write down every question you intend to ask them. Your jotter should go into the archive o. It will be sort after one day. Stay lifted sir.
Wow!! I'm also surprised that with the impact the duo of Baba Keke and D1 made in the entertainment industry they've not been conferred with National Honours!! O wrong nau!
Honestly,I enjoyed everybit of this. Trust I was glued to this till the end. I learnt so much watching this, kudos to Baba Oloye and King of Talk. Please bring Baba Oloye back.
Excellent and beautiful interview! Teju is goood! Great respect to Otunba (let's be formal here), he is bigger than the people of this generation can imagine. Worked quite hard with Ke-Ke to build an industry that is so vibrant, prosperous and so much more today! The due deserves a serious national award.
We love you and your guest, and we are learning every time. Thank you so much. Some of your interviews should be published that people can read and learn about our great people. PLEASE, CHANGE THIS TOPIC , WOMEN NEEDS SOME RESPECT. THERE IS A LOT OF WISDOM IN THE INTERVIEW AS WELL. I SALUTE BOTH OF YOU. THANK YOU.
Mr Teju. You being Nostalgia is what so priceless about you. Of course, I'm having my adulthood in this generation. But i do wish i could have gotten it in the millennials days. I have this minds of everything about this Nowadays, doesn't really suit me.
Egbon Teju, no one beats you in this podcast game. You Sabi! I love this. If I could just lay my hands on that your notepad lasan, my wisdom would quadruple😂 More grease to your elbow sir.
Thanks Teju. I called for this interview knowing you would do great justice to dig the treasure out of Baba D1 and both of you didn't disappoint. Thanks for honoring our invitation here baba D1. More grace to both of you 💕
This is probably one of the best vids Teju has done. Well done on this. I grew up with Otunba D1 and Uncle Keke Ogunbe. Many memories and love in this video 😊😊😊
Not really a fan of Nigerian podcast but i must confess that i enjoyed every minute spent watching this. Learnt Friendship, vision & Goals • Business and Marketing • Thank you uncle Teju, you are truly the king of Talk! God bless uncle D-one! This is more than just an interview or podcast.
Hey king of talks Teju this one of your interview that I enjoyed keep the good work going and like Baba oloye said this generation need to know the story .thanks
So much nostalgic moments listening to this interview. Waking up dead of the night to Ray Power playing RnBs, slow jams by the likes of Mama Jama, Yakubu Lami and many others to Friday night Ray Power crew drive through Lagos with people driving alongside from Yaba to VI and all over Lagos. Kudus to Baba Keke, D1 Baba, Raymond Dokpesi and all other that made these possible.
Teju thank you so much for all of your guests. You are always digging deep to find them real. And you don’t know how encouraging and impactful their words and experiences are to me especially. Thank you so much. I don’t know how to interview but hopefully to interview you😁. And also being live audience. One hour is not enough jare😁. In anyways thank you so much
I agree they played pioneering roles, but other Nigerian artistes were around before the Ray power boom. Dizzy Kay Falola, Chris Okotie,Felix Liberty and Mike Okrie were forerunners
KEKE KENNY OGUNGBE was in OGBC 2 before moving to Raypower with d like of Steve the Steve Kadiri, Segun Shyshy Shina… -D1 used to be a corespondent from LA ,USA during Keke Ogungbe’s weekly program 5pm before he finally moved back Nigeria…I’m hearing another version ooo! DaarComminications recruited her staff members from all over Nigerian radio station. The radio station started before the Tv station.
Awesome interview. The very first time i saw a hummer jeep in my life was that of Kenny and D1 . Anytime we see a yellow hummer passing through at Ait road Alagbado, we know this is Baba keke and D1.
