Long time subscriber. The shirts/tops with white pants look great. I like the one you wore all day, too. The carriage house plans are very exciting. Will add even more character to Sugarwood. I have Boll and Branch sheets and love them. The color choices are very pretty. On the cosmetics, NARS has become a fav of mine, too. Their foundation is also skincare. Covers beautifully. Also, a little nail care hack, coconut oil is magic on nails and cuticles. Try it out and your nails will love it. Grocery store coconut oil. Inexpensive. Have a great week!

I watched you unwrapping the beautiful Talbot cable knit while wearing a blue cable knit dress of the same style (Ralph Lauren) and having just purchased new white bed linen (Dorma). Sadly we don’t get Talbot in the UK but they are a favourite of mine from when I lived in the states. On your house plans, I really like the idea of the glass connector you showed at 36:17 in the video. It reminds me of the garden rooms in England. The question would be whether you want a 4 season sunroom or solarium. I'm only just catching up to this video a week later b/c I was enjoying wanderlust, reading/writing/thinking, and disconnected from tech for the trip! ☺

DECK ALERT… Hi Linda, we live 40 miles north of you and too are “aging in place.” A few years ago we did a similar project adding a deck off our sunroom and I would like to share some of what we learned that may help in your decision process. Sunroom-absolutely, the deck you show at 32:00 seconds in is what I want to address. Aesthetically and practically I get why you want to do that. What I didn’t realize (when we built ours) was how much I would love our deck in summer but NOT in the winter! Why? Because decks built up against a building HAVE to be shoveled of snow. Right now the snow that hits the ground outside of your porch does NOT need to be shoveled. At 69 and 74 we still clear our own driveway with a John Deere (heated cab) snow blower, but we no longer shovel our walkways or remove the snow from our large deck. We pay a neighbor boy to do those jobs for us. Knowing what I know now (and how this applies to your project) I would suggest you keep what you labeled “deck” as small and strictly transitional as possible. This will save you a lot of shoveling! The other important consideration is how quickly decks ice up and as New Englanders we know ice and old age don’t mix. Plus our dogs didn’t care for the icy deck and unfortunately that’s how we had to let them out to do their duty. I would be happy to send you pictures of our project if you like. fclave@mac.com PS also consider using spray foam insulation on the underside of your sunroom addition, that helped us enormously to retain heat especially with all the big windows. We quickly added a small Enviro pellet stove to our sunroom which made it wonderful in the winter! Still aging… 12 years later we are pricing out a gas model so we don’t have to carry 40 pounds bags of pellets. It takes good planning to “age in place”. I hope what we have learned in our years might help you, Ben and Willow. Keep up the good work! PS would you please enter me in your raffle. Thank you😘
