Brilliant video man, Ive found a lot of sharks at the curb... most of them I pick up if they are new enough. They are great to part out on ebay after a good cleaning. People always looking for power heads, dust bins etc... wonder why? Lol. I would never buy one new or really at all for that matter. Ive heard the same about their warranty system as well. Dyson is apparently great though as you already know doing it through a dealer.

But, the way they sell those things new and kept the same design since the 1990s, is why it's a WB tier vacuum. If it was sold the same as a SEBO or Miele, it would've been a B tier vacuum.

I purchased my very first Shark Vacuum the NV70. It had good reviews & I wanted to see what the hype is all about. It's replacing my Bissell Powerforce Helix Turbo 68C71. The motor in it is starting to go out. I had the thing for about 3 to 5 years. I took well care of it & replaced the roller brush & belt. I am kind of disappointed in Shark not making replacement parts easily available to purchase. This thing has a lot better suction power than my Bissell, I will give it that. But reliability is my question. How long will it last?
@PerformanceReviews

It was designed to last 6 months to a year in then thrown away. You might take a look at Henry, lindhaus, SEBO,Miele if you want something to last longer

The air cooling of/for the motor is a hole in the plastic side of the suction entrance just before it gets to the hose.

A family member got this exact vacuum for us a few years ago. It worked great for.... Maybe the first year. But I tore that thing apart 3 or 4 times in the total of two years we had it just to get it to work as it should. Fur, dust, dirt, and all sorts of stuff is just everywhere in these things. I hated it after looking inside. That and the hose broke, the whole thing stinks no matter how good you clean it.. I've had a Miele C3 for about a year and have torn it apart twice out of curiosity. A waste of time.. The inside of the Miele is clean with the occasional dog hair that managed to find its way in. And everything on the Miele performs just as it did when I first got it. As a person that tears apart almost everything I own and I work in aviation tearing apart things. You can tell the difference in machines. A Shark is engineered to sell, a Miele is engineered to do it's job.

Appreciated the tips in this, never knew you could get stuff wet as long as no power was going to just. My one year nv501 shark vacuum brush won’t spin after some twine got stuck in it. I removed it all but it still won’t spin whether it in the correct position or not. The vacuum works otherwise. Only issue is no spinning, it’s locked. It has special screws so I can’t take it apart right now at least. Curious, what do you think is wrong with it? Bad belt, wiring issue, motor? I see I have limited warranty, do you think Shark will replace the roller (bottom part) or fix it? Any help is appreciated!

My Advance Carpetwin with bad bearings and worn carbons still cleans better than that sorry excuse of a surface cleaner, my Taski Tapitronic, which is wearing out but not to the point of replacement, would run circles around this, it's got an easy to use liftoff system and has already lasted 20 years, my other machines aren't much older, just more used up, I have to find a shop that can fix them or take them apart and grab the specs off the motors and see if I can find replacements

I have a UV560 31 (very similar to one in video) in which the brush roll keeps getting stuck soon after I turn the brush motor on. The belt side that "rests" between the soleplate and the clear plastic wind tunnel shroud keeps getting scraped away by the soleplate and/or the wind tunnel shroud, and then makes a shrieking noise before getting stuck. I have even sanded down the rough edges on the brush roll (the part that rests between the sole plate and the wind tunnel shroud), used a spare wind tunnel shroud, and even a spare brush roll, but the brush roll keeps getting scraped and then getting jammed. I believe the GATES 231-3GT-6 belt is the correct size. And neither brush roll is loose when mounted (no melt damage and good end caps). And both brushes are clean. I don't wish to replace any of the parts. Is there something else I can do?

because they are arrogant and rude is why they say what they say. new hoovers are not as reliable as older models probably, but I have a couple hoovers. I use hepa bags so as to prevent motor issues getting all gunked up and reduce allergen exposure. I love my hoover, I must say though, that I have disgarded every bissell I have ever owned. the bagless ones, they don't seem to maintain good suction after the filter gets cleaned even. anyhow I guess you wanna look up reviews before you purchase.
