@@switchunboxing Yes, but typically offers are denied because they're not in her space or the valuation is bad or what-have-you. Since she made the offer already, she couldn't claim it's not in her space. If she denied the offer after he asked her to give up 5% *for a cat shelter* then she'd be saying that 5% of a small company is worth more to her than helping save cats. That's not a good look.

This is one of the strangest counter offers and am really surprised he got a deal with Lori (which I doubt closed).. he waited until the offers are out and then came out that he wants to give 10% of THEIR equity for Charity! If wanted to keep the promise, he could have reserved 10% for Charity and negotiated based on only 90% equity.. and Daymond's reaction at the end was priceless..

His intention is to give all his equity at the end away to cat shelter, so if he had 90% he would give all 90, and he walked in with the intent of parting with only 10 so he can give 90 away. @@adivg8402 The product sells for about $25 and has a profit margin of 20% which means there is a $5 profit per unit sold. A $2 royalty is essentially equivalent to 40% of all profits so really is like a 40% equity.

He was baiting the sharks, into discovering wether or not they would give up a portion of their equity for cat charity and shelters. This was so strange. I mean wonderful he wants to give to sheltered cats but why make them give up the % out of their equity? If he was so concerned about the cats and charity why not take it out of his? This was just so weird in general. I wonder how his business is doing today..

When everyone talks about how wonderful cats are, remember if you were the size of a mouse, that cat would be chasing you around, toying with you, then ripping you to shreds with its claws. They only reason cats behave around humans is that humans are 20 times their size.

Congratulations! This may be the worst negotiation ever. He can give away his money all he wants, why should anyone care. But the priory of the company is to exist. To provide profits to the investors. Let the investors give their money away to whoever (cats, homeless, cancer…). These donations should not be written into contract. Absolutely ludicrous. Good video though.
