Shark Tooth Haul

This video is from a couple of evenings at Sloth Party where we only had an hour or two to dig, so I combined them into one video. ‪@AncientAdventures‬ might call that lazy, I call it efficient. I found a bunch of teeth, a haul of shark teeth if you will, in just a short amount of time relatively speaking and I didn't take many videos out there. Sorry about that. I filmed the megalodon teeth but the smaller ones went right into my pockets. I love showing y'all my finds but sometimes I have to prioritize and I rationalized that it is better to find the tooth and skip the extraction footage if it means I bring home more teeth because ultimately, I get to find more teeth and you get to see more teeth. Its a win win scenario, except there isn't as much dirt as you might expect if you're a long time viewer. I promise there will be more dirty movies in the future.

Awesome finds! You guys definitely have a sharp eye and finely tuned senses on the end of the shovel to detect those things. I was looking at one of the big ones and was just waiting for it to become more obvious for my eyeballs. I got a trip in last weekend up in your neck of the woods. Caught the weather just right, and the beautiful smaller teeth were fairly plentiful and some fairly well-used/tumbled schmediums wound up in the bag also. Although I am down in south Alabama and sometimes wish I lived in either Florida or South Carolina for the teeth, it is nice to be about equidistant from the two and also have some quality Alabama teeth to hunt in between the bigger trips! Your videos keep me going in between hunts. Your and Diva’s channels are the best out there for regular videos and great finds! I know it’s a labor of love to put content out there regularly.

what a fantastic comment thank you so much! congratulations on your finds its not easy these days. like you, i love Florida. We just got back from there last week and made some awesome finds (videos coming soon!) but hunting is pretty good right here also. I have to say I prefer Florida because everytime I'm there I have a vacation vibe which adds another level of enjoyment and relaxation that I don't have here in SC. i would say i would get the same vaca vibe if we visited Alabama again too. We did some hunting there a few years back for Brooksellas and that was fun but they aren't as exciting as shark teeth. it was just cool to search for and find something so extremely old. thanks for watching and for your compliment!

I wish we had gravel deposits like this in Australia! You guys should really count your blessings!

believe me I feel very fortunate to have such rich hunting where I live. Australia is a huge country there probably is formation like that somewhere.

@@blackriverfossils there could be but not that I know of haha. There are some gravel deposits in the gold fields, but they’ve all been heavily disturbed. Not sure if they had any teeth in them or not.

@@-dystopic- i have definitely heard of people finding fossil shark teeth in Australia, and I've seen some worn ones so to me that implies the same kind of conditions that created the formations here. i read an article one time about megalodon teeth found in New South Wales in a river. If they are there, they should be other places too. We watched a show about people metal detecting for gold nuggets in the Australian gold fields and they didn't mention shark teeth. We regularly watch another show called Outback Opal Hunters and they find opalized shells way inland. I know that's not shark teeth but its very cool still!

@@blackriverfossils mmm I know about the opals & the alluvial gold is found in gravel beds, so they may hold teeth too. I’ll have to do some more research!

several hundred thousand at least if you consider the little ones too.

@@OCMama i'd be lying if i said it never crossed my mind but its a slippery slope. this is an incredible hobby and I've loved it for a lifetime, but if I started selling it would quickly become a job and I fear that might take all the fun out of it. i dont have infinite storage space though so there will come a time when I have to let some go. The crystals will go before the teeth though haha!
