I m 58 yrs. My father treated us whole life like this only. Even today we all feel so anger within us. It is difficult to forgive such parents who always compared u with others. Really admire your courage to pick these topics. These are not popular but important issues. So many kids commit suicide just because they feel trapped under expectations of family but it's not given the attention it requires.
A lot of kids are also going to foreign countries to escape parents and their jibes. They are ready to drive uber in Australia/Canada but remain in India.
Another problem which I see is with us as parents that we do not have that kind of energy left in a day after office and other works that we can spend so much quality time with them. this is a problem with us and we have to somehow deal with it.

Ek sardar ko dekha tha sardar colony me. Apne bachche ko apne hatho se usne tarasha. Uska beta studies me accha nahi tha aur nursery ki abcd bhi usne 3 saal me sikhi kyonki late development. Ab uska beta teenager hua to, wo apne bete ko address hi aise karta tha. Beta, ja jakar bank rashan le kar aa. Bachcha bola ki me kaise lau. To usne bola, tu karega kyonki tu mera sher puttar hai. Ja mere sher putter ye kar ya wo kar. Aaj wo ladka thela laga raha hai rozana 6 ghanto ke liye. Aur lakh rs ka profit kamata hai. Uske baap ne use sher puttar sher puttar keh keh ke use reality me sher bana diya. Thu hai aise middle-class parents par jo bhonkte hai ki apne roti fenk di aur school me fenk diya to ho gaya. Aise logo par jail honi chahiye

I read a book by Robert Plomin that said academic success is 60% genetic. It said competitive exams mostly filter out the genetically superior ones. Most of those kids who got selected had a genetic advantage to begin with. Ab bhi sir wahi bol rhe ho
Parents inspire their children to do better as they love and care for them. Ask those who don't have parents or had single parent. Children shouldn't take anything for granted and learn to value the contributions and commitment of parents. The only flaw is wrong comparison and not taking pride in child's individuality. Parents must focus on uniqueness of their children by listening to their likes/dislikes and improve their strengths while controlling their weakness.
