Great explanation and easy to follow instructions! Re-installing the firmware via USB saved my TV! Thanks! Also, thanks to those who mentioned changing the .img file name, definitely didn't work until the file name was changed
This worked for me. For those who are currently trying, I followed the steps mentioned in the video...I plugged the USB and nothing happened for like 10 to 15 mins or so...and then suddenly it went to Set-up mode. My TV is now working, without spending a single dime. Cheers Julio!
Lost power briefly and my Sharp started doing the same thing. Stumbled onto your video. Outstanding directions on fixing this. Had to search the internet for the firmware because I guess since it’s an older tv, Sharp no longer supports it (no firmware) on the website. Installed the firmware and my tv is up and running again. Thanks!
Thanks So Much!, I had the exact TV you fixed in the video. Ended up changing the filename to install.img before it worked. In my TV the screen stayed completely black but I could see the light on the usb drive working. The power light on the TV was flashing while it loaded the firmware update. The power light then turned solid and the new TV menu appeared. Wonderful! I thought I was going to be shopping for new TV over the weekend but you saved me !
I just found a 65” Sharp TV that has this issue and they are giving it away for free. If I get it I will keep you updated on what I find. Thanks for sharing! You’re the TV-G
I just wanted to say it’s 2023 and this video helped us. Thought we were doomed and we keep the USB near the TV and whenever it acts up we just pop it in. Thanks brother
Thank you !!! Your tutorial is understandable and allows you to follow easily. Step by step directions and needed materials. I believe the firmware issue relates to my situation. Can’t wait to begin the process. Thank you 😊 again.
Awesome video, very thorough instructions. I have a slightly different model (PN-LE701) but it had the same problem with the SHARP logo. Using the appropriate firmware, it successfully installed, but it is still stuck on the logo. Does this mean I need to replace the motherboard? Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks Julio I tried everything and nothing worked until I followed your instructions, Sharp was not easy to find on the web, but after listening to your instructions several times I was able to get there and download the file and just like that put it in the usb after a few minutes the TV was reset to (brand new). Be ups to you for that 💪🏾💪🏾👍🏿💯
Thank you Quick Tech I have a 55 inch that had the Sharp logo frozen on the screen. Luckily I found instructions on Quick Tech which fixed my problem. Thanks, Patrick
@@mixofcolours8137 go to sharp website. Use flashdrive , make sure it's formatted . Type in your TV in search at sharp, download link , unzip it using WinZip then plug it in to ur tv and u should be fine.
@@tonysanchez739 located ur firmware first and foremost , call sharp if you have to, then follow video once u have firmware for your model. Let me know once you done this
Hey I just did this with my TV after going through every other method. Everything seemed to be fine, I found my model on sharps website, and booted it up using a 1GB flash drive which initiated the Firmware install sequence. But after it's done installing the firmware it gets stuck on the sharp logo again... I have no Idea what to do anymore.
Hi Julio, I have a LC-60LE660U model and I’ve tried following the steps in your video, sadly without success. In your video, when you plug the TV back in, it immediately begins its start up process and moves directly into the firmware update. When I plug my tv back into the wall socket, the TV does not turn on. When I use the power button on the side I continue to get the Sharp Logo and it does not start to update. Any suggestions? Thanks
K, so having issues with my sharp LC65n7004u. It did the logo comes on then shuts off thing with some dimness on one side of the screen...so I thought it was an LED replacement issue. I ordered replacements LED strips and prepared for the repair. I cracked it open...saw that there was a strip out so it was replaced. BUT....now even though all the LEDs work when tested individually...when I went to put everything back together, I have half the entire panel not powering up now. Where is my problem now? Any help will be appreciated. I though I was so clever doing an LED replacement myself, but if it's a larger issue, I"m worried I've just wasted time and more money on this thing.
Just watched one of your videos. I have a sharp tv 55 in Aquos lc-55p6000u. Purchased two yrs ago. What I've been getting in the past week is a blue loading circle. Like a buffering screen that overlays the homescreen. Remote will not respond nor will the controls on the unit. Reset button don't respond. I think your vid gives me the best idea since trying to get repair. Hit me with some feedback if you've run into this problem. And I need the link to sharp support
Thanks for the repair tips. I was able to get my Sharp LC-65LE645U working again. One important thing to be aware (I learned this from another Sharp LC-65LE645U owner online) is to change the file name to "install.img" (no quotation marks). For my situation, if I used the unzipped file as is, it will not upload into the TV.
@@juliopadilla1222 Forgot to mention since the firmware for the LC65LE645U is no longer available, the firmware from another Sharp TV, the LC-65LE654U with the same specs was used.
Thank you! Great tutorial and fixed my issue right away; longest part was waiting for Sharp to email me the firmware since it’s not on their website anymore. I also changed the file name to install.img like others mentioned and formatted the USB to FAT32.. it installed successfully on the first try; thanks again!!
Hi Julio, Mine has the motherboard issue, is it simply a matter of swapping with a new board? or is it necessary to download firmware to the new board?
I have a question. I have a 65" Sharp Aquos ..Certain channels started to freeze than one channel started to get those colorful horizontal lines...Sometimes I will switch channels on remote and the channel stays black for a while than finally the picture comes up. Can I re boot or is my picture going to go completly?
@@shelbyseay2815 It's been a couple months, but we found the download on Sharp's website - www.sharpusa.com/Support.aspx then entered the model number and proceeded to download onto a USB drive.
Awesome tutorial really grateful, I do have a question Julio, I currently have a Sharp Aquos 70C6600U and when I turn it on it does flash the Sharp logo, it reboots and just cycles on that, you mention this may be the mother board what are your thoughts? Please advise Thanks
Hey Julio, you mentioned something about the 70 inch tv's, having to use the input button manually. Could you explain? Sharp logo is stuck so I can't navigate the screen. Thanks in advance
Hey there is a video on using remote to reboot in this situation , I'll try and get back to you with link but Google it and there is a you tube video on it . Good luck
Hey Quicktech. I have a 32 inch sharp and the sharp logo blinks on and off along with the smart logo. Eventually it stops and turns to a black screen. I only use Netflix, Prime and RU-vid...no device is connected. What can possibly be the issue?
Hey quick I have a Sharp LC-60LE660U. I did everything you said to in the video. I formatted the drive, installed the firmware update on to the USB unzipped, unplugged the tv, plugged the usb into the tv, plug the tv back in, and when I turned the TV back on, my TV was still stuck on the sharp logo, any help?
There's something wrong with the file , it should automatically start to download once u power up. Delete everything and repeat all of the steps I think ur files aren't unzipped is what it sounds like. Try again from scratch and let me know.
Great video. I'm wondering if it's my issue. Sharpe LC-65N7004U Aug 23/2020 manufactured date. Turn it on the sharpe logo comes up and goes black. Red light flashes. I've tried unplugging and holding in the power button. Same. Called sharpe and asked if it could be the the firm ware your describing and they said definitely not it was the mother board and it would cost 1/3 the cost of the TV normally and no guarantee then it would even work. Thoughts??
@@tedbrake7957 I called Sharp/Hisense today and they don't have the firmware. I called a technician and he told me that it can either be a faulty LED strip or power board. Anyway, I'm shopping around for replacement LED strips
Do you still have the zipped file you could email me? I have the exact same model but the Sharp site has been relocated to another party and I can't get the firmware.
Great video man! Maybe u can help me , I have a 65inch Sharp Roku that turns on and off - the Sharp Roku logo pops on and off and I cannot control the tv at all. Does this sound like a motherboard issue?
Thank you so much! Updating the firmare for my old LC-55LE653U that was stuck in the Sharp Logo screen fixed the problem I used an 8 GB usb. Format FAT32. Unzipped the file and renamed it to install.img as some forums mention Indeed, I plugged the USB and then plugged the TV. It took several minutes, but eventually the TV showed the SHARP Logo and then reset
@@jshannon2k8 Yes. But I had to look it up on a forum and download through the Dutch language version of Sharps website. The Polish, German and English (the languages I know) versions didn't have a download link for my model.
Quick question. I did this but the green bars load thorugh twice and on the third time, the green bars freeze/stop halfway through the loadd process. Is that common?
I have sharp aquos 2T-C50AE1X. How to hard reset if it has only power button? No channel or volume button or not even input button. And may you have firmware link to my model?
Thanks for the video. Formatted my usb FAT32, it's not over 8gb ; and renamed file name to 'install.img' as some others have recommended. When plugged back in with USB, the white light on the tv blinks and it never gets to the blue firmware update progress screen. I think some of us have corrupted eproms / memory on these boards ; as I have seen many people replace those chips on these boards to refurb them.
I have sharp lc43le653u tv that as a very similar probelm except the sharp logo flashes on for approx 10 secs then off for 5 secs and repeats. Do you think the firmware update will fix this? -Thanks for the video.
great video, thx! question - Sharp Aquos 70C6500U bought 2013. acted up a few days ago, sound out first, then weird color pattern flashed on screen tv would go out. later it would work, then started going out more often to the point now we only get the Sharp logo screen which then goes out after a bit. Power light blinks 3 fast, 1 slow! watch videos, possibly power board, service manual say main board (communication). Doesn't seem to have firmware update for tv, only serial #'s starting with 4, ours doesn't. Any ideas/advise?
I would change motherboard and call sharp and have them send you firmware update via drop box. Then try my tutorial. I think it will work like a charm. Let me know
@@juliopadilla1222 thx! already called Sharp, they said no update for our tv, update are from 2014 and up! Our tv is 2013. Hate to change main board if it's the power board. I know service manual says "main", but several youtube vids indicate power board
@@juliopadilla1222 Thx for responding! According to Sharp service manual the 3 slow 1 fast power light blinks mean a communication issue with the main board, if not what then? Issue is in the initial post.
Do you still have the firmware zip file? All the links in the comments are either not working or for my model. I will really appreciate it if you could post maybe a google doc for the firmware of LC-5n7004u. Thank you
I just so happened to buy this exact model today as a secondary for a bedroom. It doesn't do this stuck logo (yet) and hopefully it never will but I'm going to get the flash ready for when it does. I do however am having trouble setting it up...like all i can do at this point is connect to wifi and watch RU-vid. Thanks for the video
What do I do if I forgot to format the flash drive? I put it in the tv and it started the process with ‘please do not turn off the power’ and won’t go any further. Can I take out the flash drive, format it and try again? I’m currently afraid of turning off the tv
Hello Julio. My brother gave me a Philips 55PFL5601 4k smart TV, Mfg Nov 2016 that's broke. He purchased it new in 2016 and it never did work. He lost the receipt so could not return it. The power comes on and it displays the Philips logo for exactly 30 seconds, then the TV turns off. No power or standby light after it turns off. It turns off after 30 seconds every time it's turned on. I've inspected the boards and could not find anything visually wrong. I checked for loose connections, burnt or bulged components, bad solder joints, etc. Nothing. Perhaps the firmware was never programmed at the factory, or got corrupted somehow. I could buy a new board if I was certain which one is bad. IDK. Anyway, Julio any advice you could give me to get this essentially new condition TV to finally work would be greatly appreciated. It would save me a ton of money if I could get this thing to work, as my old TV is slowly dying. Thanks for this video. I subbed. And thanks in advance for any info you could pass on to me. Cheers. (sorry for such a long comment) 😞 Take care and be safe.
Hey man I have lc-52sb55u, the green light flash TV won't come on I unplug it hold the volume button down and input TV cuts on and then cuts off, replace the power board and the LCD converter I'm sinking money in it do you think it's the t-con board or the main board
I have the same problem with my Sharp LC-55LE653U model. I cannot find a download for the firmware. It is not on the Sharp website anymore. Do you have a link for a website for the firmware?
Hmmm.. My SHARP LC-43LB481U turns on and the 'SHARP' logo (black & white) is there for literally a 'split second' and disappears. I have no 'bright light' to check for 'back light' malfunction, and though the startup is similar to the point where mine disappears, I wonder if it is the same 'problem/repair' as you've posted here. Would like to see a 'response' if you would!.. Pretty informative post! Most wouldn't think of 'reburning' the board! Way to go!
I had high hopes, but it didn't work for me. I put the USB in and it didn't do anything. Thanks for your help and I'm glad it worked for everyone else.
Thank you! A few things I thought were worth calling out: 1. Use a Windows machine to set up the USB - my Mac wouldn't recognize it as an .img file the same as the Windows machine did. 2. After you download the .zip file from www.sharpusa.com/Support.aspx, extract it to the newly formatted USB and make sure it is the ONLY file on it 3. When I finished extracting to the USB, the file type will show as 'install.img_secure_v3.6' or something similar. I had to rename the file to read exactly like 'install.img' before it would be seen as an image file, which is what the TV needs it to be. Hopefully this helps someone else.
