Got a backlight failure. I figure Tvs are so cheap it's not worth fixing. Thanks for the help though

Mine loses picture but keeps sound. When using the remote I can switch to another source (all menus visible on screen) and then back to the old source, then the image returns fine. It's almost like it's a software bug but there's no new firmware out...

My tv can be turned on, and sound will play. It is just the screen is black. I was just using firestick, and it went black and hasn't gone back normal since. I have tried doing unplugging. Do you know what could be the issue?

My tcon ribbon cable has some black stuff on it, looks almost like tar. And I'm not sure that's normal lol. Any clues bud? Also great vid!

When I'm playing games or watching TV, between scenes there's often a quick black screen, but that triggers my black screen issue. Audio works but nothing on screen. No backlogged. But after about 16 seconds it flickers to an LED blackscreen and then back off. It cycles like that for about 2 mins until it eventually picks up input, displayed in top right corner, and then the image comes back.bi can avoid most black screens by pressing my windows key to show the start menu. If I can prevent the screen from going fully black, I can often prevent the issue. I've changed all settings from my pc and even tried another pc, different cables, issue is the tv. I have done a reset on the tv. I have changed the mode from dynamic fixed to others, but eventually the tv will force back into dynamic (fixed) mode.

I need help Sir on my Sharp Roku TV. My problem is I have power and sound and also backlight. Can you help me if it’s the T-Con or the Main Board. Also which ever part I need to fix my TV where can I buy the parts for my model TV. Thanks

You'll have to try unplugging each board in turn to determine which one is causing the problem. The best place for parts is eBay, I think.

@@techtests I took my TV to a 5 star rating TV repair Tech in my area and he did a diagnostic test and determine it’s my LED display panel. Which to me is hard to believe because you didn’t mention anything on your video about Display panel if it’s goes bad can also be due to no picture but still sound. Your video and other video’s and Google TV troubleshooting problems forums no one mentions about if the LED display panel goes bad you will get no picture as well. You and everyone just mentioned basic troubleshooting and like your video explaining it can be the power supply, main board, t-conn and LED strips lights if no picture but you get sound, power and backlight but that’s it no mentioning about LED display panel going bad you will get no picture which to me it doesn’t make sense at all. My TV is SHARP Roku TV Model Model LC-65Q7330U which so far everyone that has this particular TV say’s it’s the LED strip lights that causes no picture . I’m just blown away that it’s my panel which cost more money to get a new LED display panel than what I paid for my TV and now TV tech says panel TV went bad really sucks.

I have a Sharp Aquos TV with a Roku stick. The Roku home page comes up fine and all of the apps. In the apps I have the guides that all look great, but when I actually choose a channel to watch, the screen will go to No Picture, but the sounds is still working. This is on all apps that I tried, and I tried quite a few. Any ideas on why just the show will go to a black screen but the screen is working correctly at all other times?

I would guess that it's either some kind of mismatch between the signal your Roku stick is sending and what the TV is expecting over HDMI, or it could be to do with DRM. I would play around with your HDMI settings on your TV and any settings in the Roku stick itself. Also, try it with another TV if you can.

Clean your caches on all the apps that might work. Especially the one you use the most. Or app updates

I have a sharp LC-65LE654U. The other day I was given the 654U from my work. I had just got it home turned it and was cycling through inputs. I entered my wifi, went to look if there any updates (none), and looked at the Netflix app. I pressed the "smart" button on the remote and the screen turned off. Or so I thought. The screen is " on" but black, the power light is on. I cannot turn off the TV with power button on the TV itself. I can only power it down by unplugging it. I've tried multiple hard resets, nothing gets it to work. The buttons are unresponsive. The screen lights up but there's no image (I'm sitting in a room with it with all the lights off). Any suggestions?

Sounds like a loose connection (maybe to the T-Con?), or it could be a software issue. If you can't get the picture to come on after several power cycles, then I would open it up and take a look at the cables.

@@techtests nope, no picture comes on. As soon as it plugs in it lights on the bottom, then the screen turns on. Nothing plugged into it beside power.

So.... when you have faint images, then one of the cheaply made boards or T cons or whatever . Couple years, throw away. That's why new tvs are so cheap. No wonder Panasonic gave up on USA sales of tvs. Shame on Sharp for selling this junk. LG and others too. Made for 4 years and junk it. Or buy all new insides for more than a new one . Wow.
