The Sharp Twin Famicom combines all of the Nintendo FC and Disk System goodness rolled into one console. It also uses standard AV cables, not proprietary--thanks Sharp! Like the Famicom Disk System, if you buy one used, the belt is probably broken, so get one with a new belt.
The power supplies for the Twin FC are sometimes expensive and hard to find. You can use a Sony PS1 power supply which might be easier to source. You just have to get a tip adapter (and as always, use a step-down to 100v transformer). Thanks to the excellent Famicom World forums for that nugget of info: www.famicomworl...
I really like the Twin FC. Like the AV FC, the AV cable connection is really great. You get more reliable video and audio compared to the rf connectors on the original red and white Famicom.

router power adapters are my go to, in fact I got the exact match router power adapter for this sharp famicom, even the polarity matches. PS one power adapters are themselves hard to get.

As for the AC Adapter, you can get the following: -Enercell Universal 2A AC Adapter (the switch must be set on 7.5) -Enercell Adaptaplug Type N Both can be purchased from RadioShack.

Thanks for the advice, I watched your tutorials a few times so if both drives look the same I should be able to fix it. :) Thanks

A regular Famicom power supply doesn't even fit the Sharps, and least not the ones I got today (two 500Bs and one 500R). That's why I'm here. Perhaps there was a revision before the 505s were released, one with a different AC jack to prevent people from trying to use the wrong adapter?

just saying the psone power supply should be a regulated power supply.... most are designed for 100-250v 50-60hz..... meaning no step down required ....... do note I have been told some older electronics do not like regulated power supplies because they generate a higher frequency then the oldschool wall warts on the output, but assuming you've been using it a while and you've not had any problems, it should be fine:P

Japan is 100v, US is 120v. Your step down to 110v transformer would probably work, but I'd err on the safe side and get a proper 230 to 100v step down transformer. Your TwinFC's drive probably has a boken drive belt. The drives in the Twin and the Disk System are the same, so my vids on disk system belt repair might help you. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DZpEn0S8J2k.html Good luck!

Good review. I always tought that the US and Japan had the samen voltage. Also I have two questions and I would appreciate if you could help me. I live in Europe and we have 230 V. If I use a step down converter woch makes it 110 V, is that good enough? Also mine twin famicom cannot play disks. I dont know what the problem is but it is probably the rubber bands. I already got new one but could you maybe make a video woth a tutorial to fix a twin famicom? Sorry for thr long post.

it's not a cassette

Yes it is. It even says "Kasetto" when it's flipped to Famicom mode. Read pretty much anything from the '80's in reference to video game cartridges. They are always called cassettes. It was the common nomenclature at the time thanks to BetaMax and VHS.

I have used American plug ins in japan and Japanese plug ins here in the states. I never had a problem on any system I have used In either country. Super famicom, dreamcast, Saturn, PS2, PS1, Turbo duo All of my Japanese versions have worked on US outlet with no problems. My US PS2 in japan ran fine as well.

However yes PAL EUROPE definitely requires a different setup/power adapter etc
