There were def people of various colours in London and there might have been the odd bloke of African origin in the British forces but they were rare. Closest you get to diversity in the army in this era was the Sepoys of the East India Company.

The British army was composed of English, Scots, Welsh and a large number of Irish troops. You might find the odd man who was the child of a mixed race couple, but he would be one in a million, if he existed.
