That’s the most beautiful razor I’ve ever seen 💰💰💰👍 and to tell u the truth im glad im done with it thanks dr I will be shaving with it but the reason I made it is not for me but one of my grandsons witch one I don’t now at this time because they’re all under the age of 4 I hope it will be an heirloom for many years to come thanks again
I don't use a straight razor -- in fact, I don't use any razor at all. I trim my beard with scissors. But after watching this video I was all over Koraat's website, trying to justify buying one of these beautiful things.. I've got a five year old grandson myself. Perhaps I should buy one for him? They'll be unaffordable or unobtainanle by the time he's old enough to buy his own.
I love your channel. I'm just a Teen but your channel helped me out so much when I was learning the ropes. And even now, I still learn something new every time I watch your videos.
Bob - i laughed when I saw that. It’s beyond yogurt Bob, it’s now soft serve! 😆... and it is easy. All you have to do is ruin a razor or two and you’ll get it down quick!
Hi Dr. Matt, your videos are giving me some great visual tips on straight razor shaving, new to this method of shaving. I'd love to try either of the soaps, they sound gorgeous.
Great video Dr Matt. Cool to watch your work on the stones. Beautiful looking razor and even better shave. Thanks for your generosity. Wishing you a wonderful Labor Day.
Dr. Matt, I like your videos because they are informative. You always have a smile and you really enjoy sharing and illustrating honing and shaving techniques. I have just under a year in straight shaving and use films to successfully hone my razors. Please keep making these videos. Peace. Sincerely, Joe Tringone
I’ve been trying to hone my straight razor for years, after watching your videos and getting the right tools, now I enjoy the beauty of a tradicional wet shave with my straight razor.
Doc Matt, thank you so much for taking the time to show us the various processes. Thanks to your coticule video I was finally able to get that stone to produce a remarkable edge. I also appreciate how you show how different company's stones can play well together. I think I need to buy me a Koraat as a retirement gift!
Thanks Dr. Matt for your videos! I am learning to hone and was frustrated with a razor until I used your granite technique. I was able to figure it out, thanks to you. Keep up the good work, as you inspire us to keep learning.
Ive just started shaving with a straight razors your videos are great because I learn how to use it better and reduce the amount of nicks and cuts keep doing what you do 👍🏼
Great Vid Dr Matt. You have the best techniques both in honing and in Shaving with these beautiful razors. I’d love to try either soap, thank you for introducing so many products to us.
Just subscribed today! Quality content my friend. I checked Alexandria's website and they have the Fructus soap in stock and I was lucky enough to order one for myself just now! Super excited to give it a try.
Thank you Stuart. Stay tuned as I'm working on a video where I break down the shave with a step by step blueprint on how to lay it out and execute it from beginning to end.
Hey Doc, Thanks for posting this video, its exactly what I was hoping you'd do, after we last spoke. Gives me a good start for honing my Koraat razor, Cheers! Cliff.
I always watch your videos when the weather is bad here in Koh Lanta...your videos always makes me happy again..and a new soap from Alexandria in the mailbox would be wow...👍
Well, aside from the give-a-way, great video and you've convinced me to sign up for A&E's club and get some of their soaps. Several videos you've mentioned them, and trusting your judgement, I'll do so. Have a great labor day, Doc. Lady luck be on my side for a change with the soaps!
I have two and I didn’t realize when I got them they are honed using tape. When I contacted them and they told me I reset the bevel and rehoned the blades without tape. Great shavers.
Hi Matt. Great video on the honing as well the shave of that razor. Love how you follow it through from sharpening to shaving. I'd love to try one of those soaps 😁. Enjoy your week!
Howdy Dr Matt, good video. I agree that half micron seems to give a beautiful edge although I was steered here for the contest. I love contests and I'm feeling lucky!
Thank you for the videos Dr Matt. It's fascinating how you make sharpening look practically effortless. Thanks also for the give away you give us a chance at. William in Ohio
Beautiful Razor!!!!! Neat way of honing on the finish. Yeah I’m not a fan of the proraso soap, I do use their preshave but that’s it. That’s a killer lather on that soap. Definitely gonna have too give it a try. See ya on the next video!!!!!
I have a suggestion, if you haven't done it already. Could you make a video on your favorite shaving soaps and why? Possibly including price point how easy they are to find and what nice scents there are I like more sandalwood myself
Great, interesting video as always Dr. Matt. What type of flattening stone are you using, and would it be appropriate for my Shapton stones? Thanks for sharing! My shaves have improved since becoming a student.
Hey Dr Matt I’ve been wanting to transition away from cartridges, I want to get good quality products but I don’t really want to break my bank getting all the necessities up front. Any suggestions on brands and where I should start? Thank you! Your videos are great references for me in learning more.
Kewl video. I'm actually looking at the Koraat you recommended in your newest video (Koraat - Model 14-2.0). So you KNOW I had to check this video out. Anyhoo...good job...again.
Hey DrMatt. Was great to meet you at the last BSW. You made honing that Koraat look like a breeze. All synthetic stones which I thought was interesting. No natural stone finish ?
I was excited to see your newest video when I saw it was a Koraat razor. I too have a Koraat, though it is a 'near wedge', absolutely love that razor. Do you find sharpening and honing a 'near wedge' to be a little different than a full hollow ground razor?
Hi Matt, thanks for the great video, I enjoyed it immensely! Could you write me what plate you used exactly at the end. I think I understood nano plate 0.5 micron, but cannot find it online. Thanks!
It’s called nanocloth and it mounted to a plate of glass for flatness. Unfortunately they’re no longer available because the guy that used to make them died. But a dedicated piece of leather with this half micron CBN spray will work just as well. www.chefknivestogo.com/ckcbnsp05mi.html
Great vid.. That Alexandria soap is sold out every where..😂 Keep up the great job!! Hope they realize the Dr. Has serious pull!!! I'll get my hands on one of those soaps soon enough, I hope... lol
I used proraso a couple days ago for the first time and did a number on my face as well. The scent I liked but it felt a hair sticky. Nothing like your wound here but definitely some snags.
I just ordered some Ariana and evanes spartan scent I believe was what it was called. Have you tried that one? Also I have a antique razor by a company called money back razor co out of Los Angeles. I can’t find anything on them doe the name ring any bells? Thanks Doc appreciate all the vids. See ya soon for a adjustment
Dr Matt please consider me in your giveaway. I am a fan love the information you give. You sharpened a dovo for me about a year ago it still gives me comfortable shaves all I have done is strop it before each shave and that sucker stays sharp. My skills have grown exponentially I thank you I look forward to doing more business in the future Eldon
Them is fight’n words in the straight razor community!😆 I prefer not to but some people put it on for cosmetic reasons because they don’t like the look of wear on the spine. No, the spine won’t wear out. It will get thinner but the blade will concurrently become narrower from the edge wearing so it will preserve the geometry. Here’s the best explanation: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WECHanHc8Ko.htmlm22s
