Well not to hate on Nile(I really like him actually), but he had no idea what's he's doing(as he said himself). But then again, no one is a expert at the first time, and the knife was actually really decent.
@@zaku2552 well the difficult part isn't really about how to make a knife its specifically working with this material. Even if you were a knife maker it may hard to get the detail you want with the crystals and proper shape.
@@paperspoon4394 that's true, but I'm talking about the basic knife making stuff. I'm sure he did some research, but his techniques were "sub-optimal" to say the least,he could have saved himself a lot of work. But as I said the knife came out okay so it doesn't really matter
@@stroopwafelfalafel The catalyst would heat the resin, yes but the point of fusion of Bismuth is 271.4° C and resin emits some heat but not that much to melt it.
the first few times i watched this video i was just thinking “woah. cool knife. this dude has some amazing talent and creativity.” and didn’t think about the work and pure effort. but after watching nileblue’s video…Kiwami…you have more patience and determination than us all…
The fact the he didn't use any machine for the cutting, sanding or shaping makes this process worthy of admiration and awe. Not mentioning the patience.
Because of the electricity that start the fire, you have to keep on pressing the gas down to let the thermal thing heat and let the gas flow. It is a safety measure
There're 40k dislikes because he melted the knife. Edit: I really hate RU-vid for removing the dislikes on all videos. It doesn't even make any sense. Why would removing dislikes be good? If anything, it just makes scams and other scummy stuff even more prevalent on RU-vid.
ngl, I'm pretty despondent after watching this. I was thinking "wow, that's incredibly unique, and beautiful, I'd put that on my shelf just to admire it...oh no..." _internal sobbing_
It looks so pretty crystalized , Nilered tried to recreate this knife bc he got sad you melted the knife but ngl it’s was a beauty before you melted it! P.S you are very good at making knives they are the prettiest knives I’ve ever seen!
This feels like something you'd get at the end of an RPG. Like a legendary Blade forged from the scale of an elder dragon. It's really pretty, but I understand why it got melted: not very useful if you can't hold the dang thing.
I'm in love with this masterpiece 😍 Edit: Oh I just saw it was melted... Well I was in love with that masterpiece before it turns liquid, but cristals are also beautiful!
More likely scenario is that it's pretty useless for cutting food. The handle was very sharp and he couldn't get a good grip on it without gloves. It looks like it was also very heavy, since all he had to do was just let it fall on the cucumber. Bismuth is pretty flaky for a metal, and cutting food that you'll eat with it isn't wise. Would've made for an amazing display piece, though.
I love how you knew the cut that you were cutting was going to fall........you paused...........dramatic affect no doubt absolutely a 10 on style points......your craftsmanship is without question. Thank you for sharing
It still kinda makes sense that he destroyed the knife because despite it being sharper than a kukri, you would probably drop the knife before even getting close to someone in a knife fight due to pain and probably how heavy it is.
@@theunfunnychannel5567 They were referring to the video game franchise Monster Hunter, in which swords are used to fight giant monsters with. This bismuth-type design could easily be imagined being used in said games 👍
*Bismuth Dagger* An odd blade crafted by a mad blacksmith from a far-away land. Many sorcerers claim this dagger is the primogenitor of all crystal-infused weapons. A scaling with INT, B scaling with DEX.
@@kaidrescher6321 Not to mention the self-damage whenever you swing it. The critical damage from backstabs and ripostes is not to be sniffed at though. Deadly in the hands of a master.
I lean towards arcane, but I've heard it pairs well with fire fortification for taking out larger beasts. Bummer by the time you get it there's not much use for it other than chalice dungeons, if that's your thing.
I think of it as mandala sand art, Buddhists will spend many hours making a beautiful work of art and then just blow the sand away. Its kind of spiritual in a way, representing the harmony between the material and immaterial.
All that hard work just to see him melt it back down ;-; That truly hurt me eternally just to see it melt away so quickly.. But, It was an amazing creation with bismuth~!
Every time, without fail, when he switches on his stove's burner, it sounds like the beginning of a sick song and i want to start jamming, immediately lol
@@biggreenleaf7035 But you could literally put it up for display, who knows how many hours of work he put into making it, and then just to melt it down... Its not meant to be used but seems more of decor.
