Welcome to the Dreamworld! Dreamcatcher are very unique. They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 "Bon Voyage" is the 3rd and final part of the Apocalypse trilogy, which is about the destruction of the environment by humanity. The members have mentioned that it is about giving nature a break. Any encounter between human beings always has separation attached to it as well, just as death is a part of life. SuA also said that the fluffy floating thing that Dami summons from her painting is a cell, representing nature. It has been named "Celly" and is adorable, right? My dark mind believes that they are saying "Have a good trip" to humanity, since we are well on our way of wiping ourselves out. It's like a breakup between humanity and the earth. Once humanity is gone, nature gets the break it needs and the circle will begin again. For me, the key to understanding the lyrics is that they are singing as human beings, not as a single person. And they are singing to nature, confessing their love and the realization that we are not good for nature and that it probably resents us. It could also be the other way round (them singing as mother nature to humanity). SuA jumping out after the dove seem to represent their desire for peace. The story of the MV seems to be that the rest of humanity has sheltered away under force fields after the apocalypse. This gives nature time to heal. Musically I can already say this is one of their best songs for me. The chorus slaps hard, and the variations between heavy and slow are just beautiful. It has emotion and impact at the same time. Putting JiU's sweet voice together with an acoustic guitar is simply genius. Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point. Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy. Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song?

Dreamcatcher always incorporate rock and metal influences in all of their title tracks while doing a lot of experimentation in their b-sides. Because of this, their discography spans dozens of genres and sub-genres, including rock, jazz, r&b, edm, metal, reggae, funk, pop, and much more. They're a very lore heavy group and their concepts, while always dark, are constantly changing up subject matter. They have 3 main storylines, The Nightmare Series, The Dystopia Trilogy, and the Apocalypse Trilogy, along with several special and single releases. Scream is the first part of their Dystopia trilogy. The dystopia trilogy is a social commentary on hate speech, online bullying, losing yourself to an online world, and the realization that social media is just a sweet lie covering darker (dystopia) truths. In Scream, the song is sung from the perspective of someone who is being persecuted or bullied. Boca (mouth in Spanish) is part two of the Dystopia trilogy and is from the perspective of Dreamcatcher trying telling those who were persecuted that they'll fight for them. They're saying they'll shut the haters mouths if it causes you pain. Bonvoyage is the final part of their Apocalypse Trilogy. The Apocalypse Trilogy deals with more existential issues like climate change and war. In Bonvoyage, Dreamcatcher are telling the earth farewell as humanity has to leave in order to give it time to heal. The song can also be interpreted as saying goodbye to someone you love. You're right that their MVs don't focus on choreo as much because they're very story focused. However, Dreamcatcher are fantastic dancers and have some of the hardest and most complex choreography from girl groups.
