Your calm nature playing the biggest games from my childhood makes my day and life better. I have severe PTSD and your videos/twitch mellow me out when things are difficult, as well as make me smile when things are well. Thank you Arcus.
This game is probably top 5 in the NES library in terms of quality of graphics and sound design. Really shows what developers learned to do with the hardware towards the end of the console’s span. Such a gorgeous, and really good, game.
I'm so glad I stumbled on this video. I used to rent this game all the time as a kid but I couldn't remember the name of it to save my life. I tried describing it to friends a few times years later based on my sketchy memories, but with no luck. All I really remembered was being surprised that it was so good based on the unappealing box art (I know, books and covers and all, but I was a small child). I actually avoided Mega Man for the same reason.
Loved it! Shatterhand is such a hidden gem on the NES. Love the music! I didn't realize you had the ability to sort of throw the robot outside the screen to keep it safe as well. I'll have to try those tricks next time! 😉
