Thanks for the heads up on the Vector cartridge, I just bought one of those handles and will skip the one that came with it and just use the actual Atra cartridges I have. I also have great memories of shaving with Sensor during my teens and 20's, maybe one day I'll pick up one of those again.
I prefer to use the vintage Atra handles. The aluminum handles have such a nice weight and grip to them. The current Vector handle works just fine as well, it what I use when I travel. The Sensor and Sensor Excel work great but i just like the way the Atra shaves. It has such good feedback and its just aggressive enough to get a two pass shave done easily. The Sensor definitely shaves smoother but the feedback isnt as good and for me its not as aggressive as the Atra.
Great shave Rick. I appreciate you highlight cart razors too. It’s a shame some guys won’t include them in their rotation. I’m glad you’re feeling better.
I’ve tried this same thing and have found that the gillette atra and sensor both have pivoting heads witch gives them a edge over the trac2 but where the sensor out performs the atra is that the sensor has “independently Moving” twin blades witch is like shocks for your car and makes the shave amazing I find the sensor to be the best cartridge razor out there besides the skin guard witch it’s nice to see Gillette going back to less blades. I also prefer the “non aloe” atra blades. You should try a “gillette sensor 3 vs the Gillette mach 3 challenge” Thanks again Vic
Thanks for the video great shave ! :) I'd be happy if you make a comparison between an Sensor Excel and a Mach 3 And if possible an Sensor Excel vs SENSOR 3
Hi Rick, I am a Gillette Contour (atra) shaver. I have used the sensor excel razor but it cut my face everywhere and I thought it wasn't as smooth as my contour razor. By the way I have invested in The Razor pit, The razor pit strops all Cartridge razors and it keeps the smoothing strip on for longer and I noticed it saves me from buying more blades replacements.
