What can you say about Shaye's obvious talents? You can put her in any setting or venue and she'll always stand out. Third generation jazz and it shows every time she picks up that cornet or sits at the piano. Not to leave out the many other instruments she's mastered. Just an amazing performer.....................

I really dig when Shaye plays the old standards, like this one. Brings a tear to my eye.

Shaye's solo starting at 5:04 is exquisite. So musical.

Really good jazz made famous in the 50’s. A much different band from Tuba Skinny; but, all excellent New Orleans early jazz players. As always, Shaye being the best.

Many thanks, Randy. 'Who's Sorry Now?' was composed in 1923 by Bert Kalmar, Harry Ruby and Ted Snyder. Beautifully performed here. I wondered what was going on during the four bars after the second chorus (02:05 - 02:12) and then realised Charlie, Julie and Mollie were skilfully transposing the key from B flat to E flat, so that Molly could sing it in a key with which she was comfortable. After the vocal, they stayed in E flat for all the solos and final vocal.

Shaye is a dimond! Shine on!

I just discovered other major talent in Shaye's family: *Al Cohn* (November 24, 1925 - February 15, 1988) was an American jazz saxophonist, arranger and composer. He came to prominence in the band of clarinetist Woody Herman and was known for his longtime musical partnership with fellow saxophonist Zoot Sims. Alvin Gilbert Cohn was born in Brooklyn, New York. In addition to his work as a jazz tenor saxophonist, Cohn was widely respected as an arranger. His work included the Broadway productions of Raisin' and Sophisticated Ladies, and his arrangements of his own compositions were recorded by big bands led by Maynard Ferguson, Gerry Mulligan, Terry Gibbs and Bob Brookmeyer. Also, Cohn did arrangements for unreleased Linda Ronstadt recordings from the 1980s. Cohn also appeared on stage with Elvis Presley in June, 1972, as a member of the Joe Malin Orchestra at Madison Square Garden. Cohn's first wife was singer Marilyn Moore. His son, Joe Cohn, is a jazz guitarist. Granddaughter Shaye Cohn, Joe's daughter, is a musician who plays cornet with her band Tuba Skinny in New Orleans and at jazz festivals in Italy, France, Australia, and elsewhere. Shaye also plays accordion, violin and piano. Cohn was married to Flo Handy, a singer and composer, from the mid-1960s until his death. ~~~~~ *Joseph Mark Cohn* (born December 28, 1956) is an American jazz guitarist. The son of Al Cohn, he started to play the guitar in his teens, transcribing from recordings featuring Art Tatum, Thad Jones, and Clifford Brown. Besides taking lessons, he attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston, where he also played with Nick Brignola and Bob Mover. He is self-taught on double bass and performed with musicians at hotels in the Catskill Mountains. He continued to play bass in New York City with Freddy Cole and Buddy DeFranco. Beginning in 1984, he played guitar for several years in the Artie Shaw Orchestra led by Dick Johnson in addition to learning the trumpet. He recorded and toured with his father, saxophonist Al Cohn. In the 1990s, he was a member of the Carmen Leggio quartet with Bill Crow. His daughter Shaye Cohn plays cornet with Tuba Skinny. ~~~~~ Again, to reiterate the above information, Shaye plays coronet, accordion, violin, and piano. Unbelievable. What an amazingly talented musician. *UPDATE:* I just found a video of Shaye playing trombone, too! Holy moly...

Shaye was playing at Mona’s bar NYC. Look up Dennis Lichtman’s channel, and Tamara Korn was singing. Tamara has a connection with Dennis Lichtman going back, also Dennis Lichtman has connections with Ed Polcer, who use to own Eddie Condon’s bar, and I didn’t realise how famous Ed Polcer is, just thought he was a New Orleans jobbing musician.

Dizzy there looks like Erika Lewis' younger sister to me....😂Molly's guitar solo was outstanding but too short...I wanted to hear more.

Sure looks like Erika on washboard. Does this mean her voice has taken a setback? Hope not.
