Never been this early to anything- but Caleb I wanted to just say thank you. I had awful debts including student loans, multiple credit cards, and a bad car payment. After watching your videos I’ve gotten rid of credit cards entirely and am almost done paying off my car. Thank you for your videos and it’s wonderful seeing you be so successful! You’re the best !

My comment is for YaYa. I was an old single adoptive mom at 42 & 47. I had a house, car, Masters degree and decent job and no bad debt. The most expensive years of parenting are ahead of you and you’ll be trying or needing to retire at the same time they are getting launched with college or job training and hopefully, financial independence but that can take awhile. Now I am 69 and I live on very little. My best advice is to become incredibly frugal and don’t count on future money or expecting to make more or student loan forgiveness. Be realistic about the now! I hope the best for you and your kids.

As someone who works in a University Bursar office, I see the insane amount of unnecessary student debt that people take on to fund their entire living expense for the duration of their college experience, and it scares the hell out of me. Seeing $10,000 worth of loan refunds each term being refunded to 18 and 19 year olds, after their expenses have been paid makes me sweat. I hope that more people can learn from other's mistakes by watching these videos. I got in to better private schools than the state school I went to, but it was a much better decision 2) just because there’s “a lot” of funding overall, what percentage is it relative to the tuition, housing cost, and other common expenses? One of the private schools I got into gave me an immediate scholarship of $26K, which is nowhere near the amount I got at the state university. But the tuition was also $40K and required on campus housing for the first 2 years (an extra 10k a year). The extra funding means nothing if its quite a bit less than tuition. I was even at a final interview level for a full ride scholarship to that private university. But again, the required housing (not covered by scholarship) was equal to the state tuition. I had scholarships to lower the state tuition so that still made more sense

She mentioned it very briefly, but it’s been something I just had to deal with two weeks ago with my father and is a bit of advice I’d like to share to any parents out there. You can prepay your funeral arrangements. Each year the price of funerals increases, so it can lock in the lower price. Also, if a nursing home is ever involved, it’s money that they cannot touch, because there are situations that can arise where the child has to pay entirely for the parents funeral because their funds have run out. On top of the financial side of it, it’s just one less thing they have to worry about when the time comes.

Perfect guest and content. Yaya will do great. She knows struggle, she knows survival, and she will overcome her current financial situation. I see this as a new beginning for her, and once her new career kicks off the sky is the limit. Best of luck to her. I hope she comes back in a year for a follow up.

Caleb, I just want to say thank you! I started watching a couple of months ago. I have learned so much and you’ve made my commute to everything so much better. I have put everyone I know into your videos.

I really like Yaya, she seems like someone you can have fun conversations with. Hearing that $200k bomb drop just broke my heart. Wishing her the best, hoping she can get through this crushing situation or at least most of it for her kids' sake.

She is like a lot of people, incredibly misinformed on how credit rating works and it's uses.

Misinformed about a great many things in the financial world. Ignorance can be very costly.

Unless her kids father was beating the crap out of her everyday she shouldn't have left. Based on her spending habits I don't believe her account of her ex .
