Such a climactic performance. From the cheating statements and vocals..and the way the lights illuminated periodically deeper hurting aspects.."in minneapolis...new Orleans.. AT HOME...and finally you fully see the line "More places I cant even remember". Shows how hurtful he was to her. Awesome performance

I went through a toxic relationship and this song just hits my soul so hard. We had two kids together and he just could not put down heroin. Before I became a mom I ended up falling down the same hole. I’ve been clean for 8 years now because of my children. They literally saved my life and reminded me who I am. Once I found out I was having a child I walked away from that life and never looked back. I tried to save him over and over. It never worked.

Halsey live is something else. She is kind of like a performance poet in her singing style, she knows how to emphasise and change tone at just the right moment.

Hmm, that's a great point. Maybe that's why there's been so much media negativity around her, poetry just isn't for everyone, and sadly a lot of people hate what they don't understand just because. And we're pretty heavily conditioned to love auto tune and poppy pop, I just feel like she's been really trashed over time, and it's starting to get better for her now so it makes me wonder what or who is responsible for all the bad press she has had. She should be bigger than she is already, she's been doing her thing for a minute, it's weird how manipulated her media coverage felt/feels. In fact, did Lana del Rey go through the same thing earlier in her career? Being called difficult etc? At least she's shining now :)

You're confusing original and released first. The one without JW was released first, which was suited better to be played on the radio, to focus on her, and not every station plays rap. But you can hear JW's vocals in the background. Which means he was part of the Original Song.

knite_EL i’m not “confusing” anything, the original is the version without him because she wrote it first with her songwriters, and after a few months she ask him to be part of it. She literally explained in all her interviews about the song how it was created, and she never mentions him, which i think she would’ve done if he was in the song, even if it was just for vocals. So no, there’s no juice wrld in the background, the “male” vocals in it is just halsey’s voice pitched down. Maybe i’m wrong, but I couldn’t find any evidence of him being in the original plans anywhere.

If you would like to see even more of her creative side, the SNL performance of East Side is amazing! She's singing live, painting, and not missing a beat. Definitely one of my personal favorite performances. Also, her Hold Me Down live performance in the Vevo Lounge is one of her most well known live performances because (Trigger Warning) the same day of the performance she suffered a miscarriage. It showed her strength and she definitely had a lot of emotion in that performance under the circumstances.

Also, useless knowledge, she had got back together with him for a short time after she had just written and recorded 'without me', so he got to hear it just before she released it and he told her he loved it. Then not sure how long after the release of the song, but before the video she'd left him for good. I think that's when we started to see remixes of it. And she began changing small things about it.

Couldn't find Manic anywhere, found it at Walmart and it was edited. Tried to take it back but they wouldn't take it because I opened it. So I'm stuck with an edited version of Manic I don't want. Watch 11 minutes by Youngblood and Halsey. Dom (Youngblood) told Ashley (Halsey, here name with letters scrambled) about this story he wanted to tell by song. They worked together to create it. Then it was "missing something" and Ashley texted Travis Barker to do drums for it. The music video is so interesting.
