She Gave Her Daughter Up For Adoption Decades Ago. Today, She Sees Her Photo For The First Time. 

If she had a child and knew that the child stood more of a chance at the time for a better life through adoption, the mother was being responsible. It was obviously extremely hard for her to do.

As a Chinese adoptee, I will never be able to experience this or find my birth mother, and that makes me that much happier and emotional for this mother. Never ever take anything for granted. When you don't know your biological mother, that's a part of your life that's always missing. People who know their bio parents, regardless of what and how they are, have something that some of us will never have. What a beautiful story; I'm so glad Shannon got to find that missing puzzle piece.

Very sweet and emotional. My birth mother reminded me on our first phone call that I was “a mistake", her husband and two children knew nothing about me and she wanted to keep it that way. I let her know I was no one’s mistake and thanked her for her time. 😊 That was the last we spoke and she’s since passed, but the storybook ending just isn’t always possible for many reasons.

As an adopted child, it makes me so happy to know that birth mothers still love their children. I hope I get to meet mine someday.

This really touched me

This is great that the daughter actually knew that she was adopted. A lot of kids are adopted but have no clue that they are because families want to keep it a secret. And I would recommend the daughter seeing her mother before it is too late, because some children never get the chance to actually interact with their real parents.

I'm 28 years old.. about 5 years ago I found out my mom gave me away at 2 months old. My MOM is the most beautiful human being in the world. I am thankful for ending up in her hands. Soon after finding out, I reached out to my biological mom who did not want to know anything about me, or wanted to share information about my biological father. She now has a family, 3 sons and a husband who have no idea she gave her 3 daughters for adoptions. I don't hate her, but am thankful for her actions. For them I am blessed with what I have now. Everyone's story is different, and it's amazing how things work out!

She's so beautiful and I am so glad that she got the chance to see her. Some parents if they did not want their child would simply abuse them verbally and physically. This smart lady had the courage that she knew she was unable to take care of her, but she still loves her. Absolutely stunning.

This is so sad and i am literally crying right now. Also, if i found out i was adopted, i wouldn't be angry at my birth parents i would try find them first so they can explain.

I love this! Sadly, this doesn't always happen. Many biological parents who have put their children up for adoption reject their children when they come looking for them. It's inhumane. Those adopted children then have to carry a deep wound within them forever.

Sometime in life you don't have life easy and you have to do what you have to do for your children better their self some girl get pregnant pretty young they don't have no one in their life so they give their children up for adoption so they can have a better life more than what they can give to them and as a child we can learn to understand that we can learn to forgive our mother or father and move on with life I know it hard to just forgive and move on but as the day go by will pray about it and ask God to give her some mind of peace so we can find peace in our self and grow to love them and forgive them

I dont know how can you feel sadness when a mother abandones her child. I feel disgusted. I know a close person whos mother gave him up. He does dont care about his mother because you know she left him. You cant cover it up with some tears.

I truly don't understand how could someone give up their child, and years later have other kids and keep those. Maybe you were too young and unfit to be a parent but maybe you could have had help. I wouldn't want to know who were my real parents, they decided to give me up, no love for them if I were to meet them. This is how I would to see it if I were to be put up for adoption. Truly understand how others might feel so understand mine.

And this, people, is why you should choose adoption over abortion.
