At 55 years old, I can tell you I can look back and very distinctly see decisions that changed the trajectory of my life, and every single one of them, I didn’t listen to my instinct, and I was people pleasing. Women in my generation were taught to seen and not heard, and be polite. This taught me to abandon myself, my voice, my needs. The resulting anxiety of living life this way was crippling. It’s only in the last two years, after ending a toxic friendship where they harassed me for two years and still are, that I went to therapy to learn to set boundaries and use my voice. I no longer feel so vulnerable in this world. Women, listen to yourselves. We are gifted with instinct, so used your gift. Listen to yourself. This was a fantastic conversation! Thank you!

When I thought your podcast couldn't get any better, this left me speechless. It is Such a blessing to have this platform and share how big the world is, how one's experiences transcend into others, and how this makes people reflect about themselves and inspires them to choose and be the better version of themselves every moment they decide to make it happen. Thank you for the work that you do, Valeria. Amongst all the things that you are, you are making an impact on this world.

Wow,as much as you say many things which I think are true, but I find so many contradictions in you navigating through life through grieve etc. On the hand hand you say life it a choice, however to let go of anger its all of a sudden not not your choice.? I personally dont want to live with anger,so I choose that over me building muscels to carry your own load. You grew up as a Christian, what about Jesus carrying your burden, what about His Light in your xlife, instead of doing everything yourself? What about believing that your journey is guided from above, what makes you think you know how best to travel that road? You believe we are all different,so whats wrong if someone has chickens and bakes sourbread or is a stay at home mom. These are all choices we can make depending on our personalities and the way we feel whats my journey. Contentment is may be good, what about inner peace? Where does that come from? As a 74 year old and being retired after being a kindergarten teacher and after raising raising a large fam. Am enjoying my life as an artist and yes I do live one day at the time, but enjoying every day in a new light znd not any pressure to accomplish anything, but have timexand love for the people around me and if this is my last day, then I know I lived it to the fullest. You do yours ,the way you like itas long as it is in peace and in love you can be a light to the people around you! Success on your life's journey❤

I agree with you. This amazing interview with these two wonderful women are not for those who are mindful and consistent in including God's word and guidance in their daily lives and in the decisions they make. Bozoma Saint John is without a doubt an incredible woman. As a muslim myself, I am in awe of her innate strength while recognizing that I cannot go through the same heavy journey without holding on to God' infinite mercy and wisdom. Personally, I do find having a strong relationship with God helps in letting go of anger, loneliness, envy, and crippling sadness. And if one has a good understanding of ones purpose in this world and centers God in that purpose, one will also end up using their life's experiences, painful or otherwise, to propel themselves into living a fulfilling life that is just as purposeful, mindful, and conscious as Bozoma does. The one difference is the source of motivation for taking control of our lives, one is based on using our negative emotions (not letting our pain be in vain), and one is based on letting it go to God and using this relief to unburden ourselves to focus on getting back to our intended paths. Both are great, I am just more inclined to combine both, as I agree with Bozoma's perspectives to varying degrees; it is just missing a God-centered approach to living which I prefer very much, but to each their own. Still a powerful interview.

'I have been angry at God a lot'- pausing here, so familiar.... When I lost my grandpa who actually raised me because I lost my mum at 5 and my father left me and my sisters... I was hating God so much so much anger so much fight... I talked about to my friend's brother who studied philosophy of religion... I wasn't feeling better with that anger and hate toward God but I need to claim my pain to someone and he said it is so natural and absolutely fine.... God is glad that you come to him even with that...

Wow, and I'm only halfway through. Thank you. You have upended so many unreachable and unrealistic tropes about wellness and put the power back in one's hands by claiming the light we all have as long as we live, however frail it may be, it's on us to grow it with the choices we make. Excellent interviewing.

She's so right in saying that ultimately you know yourself the best. All realtionships are important but when it comes to how we perceive ourselves it's completely different and the minute we begin agreeing to what people feel is best or bad for us we are somewhat doomed. Great video 🫡
