1:55 Zoe maybe next time use some wooden hand screw clamps when cutting flat spots in corks, keeps your fingers farther away from the blade and safer. Also I have found that when I use sticks or corks that a vacuum chamber and some cactus juice helps reduce the amount of air bubbles

Zoe watch your fingers on the bandsaw!!! Create a wood jig to hold the corks and save your fingers. You guys do nice work 😀

Make a jig to hold the corks while you cut them or use a push stick to push them through the bandsaw blade. If you cut them in half (instead of just cutting a flat spot) then it would take half as many corks to make the item and the effect would be the same and you wouldn't have any waste.

I have a little tip for pouring your epoxy. Hold the jug sideways. Eliminates that glue glue effect. Nice smooth pour.

Very dangerous to use a bandsaw that way. You were lucky. It’s pretty easy to make a jig where you can put the cork in and feed the jig (a piece of board) to cut the cork. Would not want to see you lose your finger!

Yeah that was pretty sketch. I'd try that once lol. It would probably be pretty easy in this case to use a clamp to hold them.

😳 Zoe, with all due respect, a belt sander turned upside down in a vise, or a verticle/horizontal sander would be so much safer and faster with an 80grit or 100 grit belt. Hate to see anyone get hurt there. What you're making is really cool though!👍🙏🙏🙏

In my experience epoxy takes well to buffing to get out the scratches. I used a drill-press mounted one, worked a treat.

If you plan on doing alot of corks in epoxy try a pressure pot with stabilizing resin it will pull out all the air pockets and replace it with hard resin.

You could have used an ice tong to hold the corks when cutting them. You wouldn't want to accidentally scratch those pretty fingernails on the saw. I think you should put a handle on the caddy.

The silicone molds are very heat resistant so the heat gun does not effect them.

ZOE ANNE! Not trying to be the internet police but please keep those fingers AWAY from ANY blade. Chainsaw, bandsaw, table saw. Like many are saying here, make a jig and never put yourself in a situation where you hands are within a foot of ANY spinning blade. Same goes for your hubby too.

Please dont try this at home - safety workwear is rule No.1 (are sexism close pants worth your health ? Get away with your hands from the saw - use a spacer with min. 10cm distance!
