What I got from this is that Tomo-chan's dad already likes and approves of Junichiro, enough to spend entire afternoons practicing at the dojo with him. Junichiro is practically a son-in-law already.

Somehow, having a subdued but obviously visceral reaction hits more than if he simply had a classic, over-the-top anime "W-w-w-what are you talking about" reaction.

She didn’t even need to hit him, she just hit him with straight facts

She was so close to getting a slap from him, but this is just as effective.

The cold stare down between those 2, god damn. Respects for Jun to not let her walk on him like that, she did pushed it too far.

No one can push him too far. Not with how the show started. Accept or reject Tomo’s confession but don’t pretend to not understand it.

Usually in anime, this type of character archetype can tease the male character and not face any reprocussions from it. I love how Misuzu doesn't always get away scot free from teasing Junichiro too much.

I mean it's clear she was telling him to act or lose her to someone else. Her glare tho.

Ultimately I'm not mad at what Gundo said, (mainly because it's true and Juinichiro needs to hear it) but it's her methods that make Junichiro mistake her motives, plus I think she's still bitter about their break up,which is why she clearly derives pleasure from teasing him and Tomo. 😅

Junichiro, Tadano, and Sakurai are the trinity of romance MC's who are legitimately good people

There was a girl i once thought was out of my league until a friend of mine hit me and said "Dude she's totally into you" She is now my wife and we just welcomed out first child to the world this past year. Sometimes you need the outside perspective.

I love how she doesn’t react to what he does. Same with the scrunching and him shaking her

In a sense in this scene she won. She got an answer/confirmation of Jun's feelings (though not the way she expected) and she might be already planning her next move.

The first few seconds reminded me the scene in Kaguya-sama where they both pretended to forget their umbrellas. Looks like another enjoyable anime.

1:21 is my favorite scene in the entire show. When I first saw it, I had to replay it a few times. That's a trope that's far too uncommon in anime like this. Typically when I guy is taunted by a girl, the guy is either stoic, too polite to get angry, just walks away, or is too "manly" to retaliate. Not that getting physical is ever encouraged. I just think this is a refreshing scene in an anime. Where a girl deliberately tries to get under a guy's skin, and the guy is competent/cognitive enough to notice and - again - retaliate in some way. Some visceral, realistic way. It's a simple scene, in a simple show, but somehow had a lot of weight to it that moved me somehow.

I find Misuzu to be the most attractive girl by far. Love her cold and blunt personality. Always calm and level-headed. A nice break from those hyperactive catgirls like Tomo or Nagatoro.

That's why Gundo became my favourite character in only the first episode. When I first saw her, I wondered why she gave me Yamai vibes and looked like Yume to me, then I thought I definitely want Hidaka Rina to voice her. And, man What!, A coincidence I got when she spoke!

In 2022 I kept saying that Tomo-chan Is A Girl! is going to be the Top 4 TV animes of Winter 2023 season

Considering he’s the guy that actually got the attraction to one of the toughest people in their school the description is accurate on Misuzu definitely underestimated Jun. Did she honestly expect him to take a verbal lashing. Especially when Jun confirmed when they got into trouble as kids she bailed on him and Tomo? You can say Jun is petty, but would you let a person who did that kind of stunt as a kid treat you like a doormat?

This is one of very few times where she actually crosses the line and gets him genuinely mad at her. That's why she does not say anything back after he shoves her, because she very much realized she did take it too far. There's a lot of people here in the comments who laugh at this scene, but this was never meant to be funny.

I always wondered why she likes to tease him about Tomo-chan then we learn that they used to date. 😅

"All the pranks you came up with were so extreme. But i never understood, when the grown ups would yell at us, you were never around" she is a manipulative, psycho and murdery. Thats why we love her so much.

The feelings in this are really well conveyed

Finally a character that lets it out straight, she’s my favourite now. No tip toeing around the subject, you either do something now or tomo is gonna give up and chase another guy

If this was an action anime these 2 would have had an epic battle right there.

I understand he needs to get her before he loses her, but there’s better ways to tell him to get serious. The least she could’ve done was have a decent tone with em.

I think Gundo felt like Junichiro just needed to hear it. He’s obviously not treating Tomo as a girl and if he wants to be in a relationship with her he needs to start acting that way and make effort because you cant expect someone to wait for you. But that’s only a realistic answer. The whole point of this anime is that he is dense and treats her like a guy 😅 I’m only thinking about Gundo’s point of view

I was going to skip this anime since it's not a genre that I like. But that chad move at the end changed my mind. I've feel the need to watch this first season.
