People have way more problems in relationships when their is more money involved. My husband went from an ok job financially to almost 6 figures. I saw the stress that put in him. To always work and need to more more when it came to his job. I strongly believe he was happier at his job making less 🤐 I one time asked him DO YOU REALLY NEED TO MAKE 6 FIGURES? Mite sound crazy but we were way happier as a family when he made less 🤷🏾‍♀️

“I’m going to bring my physical bible” Ha! Great way to end the show. Definitely cringed throughout watching this show. It’s sad to see how far away people are turning away from God and His word and putting faith and understanding into the world. It’s either the truth or a lie and if God’s way is the truth and life, the only other option is lies that lead to death. But I love the way you handled conversation and did not sway from your beliefs !

Man this was a good conversation! I agreed with some of the things they were saying, but disagreed with most of it. I'm happy AO stuck to his guns with mentioning his faith and why he believes the way he does. I wanted a little more push back on some of the Christian related comments, but I understand it would've went down a rabbit hole so I'm here to just speak on the Christian parts of the conversation. I hate how people always put blame on the "Black Church" for things that happened in the past. Of course people in the past didn't have the knowledge that we have now when it comes to the word of God. Only thing we can do now is learn from it and teach the younger generations by those mistakes. I also hated how the young lady used the Old Testament to justify polygamy. We(Christians) live under the New Testament and Polygamy isn't tolerated. She also stated that people are now living in "The Truth". Jesus said, "I am the Way, the TRUTH, and the Life.....(John 14:) so if you ain't living by Christ you're not living the "Truth". The other young lady mentioned something about how she didn't like how it's taught that we should wait to get to heaven to live good. I understand her point, but we're just passing by this earth(James 4:14) and this is not our home. Heaven is for eternity so I'm not concerned about living heaven on this wicked earth. Jesus already told us(Christians) to "Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth....(Math 6:19-20). And lastly, I think you can have Therapy and Jesus, but I will never put more faith in a Therapist(Man) than God, because God created Therapist. My last point for real. 😂. People can align their Chakras, do Transcendental Meditation, and believe in healing powers of Crystals, but As a Christian we can't believe in the healing power of God?

This comment!! I totally agree!! I wanted more push back too but I see your point. That young lady was confusing "the truth" with "your truth." That term is too popular in the world. But if it doesn't align with the word of God, then it is not The Truth.

@AnthonyOneal, this was a great topic, and I actually listened to it the first day you posted it. As mentioned by others, they were talking over each other, which made it difficult to truly hear each person’s response. As a single woman, no, I do not expect to carry the weight of a relationship financially, but I will NEVER emasculate my potential spouse if he made 50-60k a year. I’ve seen first hand generational wealth built from nothing with both sets of my grandparents, and my parents. When you understand that marriage is built on other things, and not focus on what society says is the “standard”, you look at life/building with someone differently
@gracekeepsme

Interesting conversation, don't agree with their mindset, though. This is a generation of self love and that is not the primary teaching of scripture. My husband and I have 8 children and we have lived on $40,000-$80,000, single income for 10 years. We are debt free, mortgage and all and our cruze of oil has never failed. The Lord has truly blessed and I believe it's because we have tried to honor the Lord in every aspect of our life. Thank you for the content you bring. May the Lord bless all your business ventures.

I met my husband when he was working at SUBWAY making sandwiches haha But this man immediately got a better paying job and married me only after 8 months and I haven’t worked since ! If it wasn’t for our trust in the Lord, obedience and believing that HE is our true provider… I know for a fact we wouldn’t be at peace with our marriage and life as we are today. Everybody wants Gods blessings but don’t want His will for their lives. And that’s why they’re commenting under celebrity post talking about “Lord it’s me again” lol We have to get back to Gods way and what LOVE truly means 1st Corinthians 13 ! But sadly they believe love is love 😩 I stay praying for my generation tho 🙏🏾

It's the character for me. Good moral character transcends income variances, because his income can change: job loss, low sales, no prospects. Things happen, but his character will carry the relationship and family. We must resist the temptation to extrapolate his present situation and make it the rest of his life. If he has good character with a solid plan, his income will increase.

Good dialog! Here are some comments to the points that were discussed. I'm definitely in agreement with the ladies on some points. You cannot go into a relationship solely based on potential. Yes, some men will rise because they have an innate desire to be accomplished and successful. More often than not, an ambitious woman will come off as "Motherly" to a man that only wants to be cared for. These type of men will mooch off of a woman as long as she allows it! Also, I understand about dating a man that drastically makes less than the woman. Most women come from single parent households. They know what it's like to struggle financially. This is why women push so hard to get financial freedom. If they reach that point, of course, they aren't going to want to give up a lifestyle that they have become accustomed to. Also, having a vision is imperative but so is seeing the fruit behind the vision or else you are just dating a dreamer! AO said that he doesn't knock cohabitation. It has been proven that living together together doesn't mean marriage. So, there really is no point in even doing this because it doesn't promote marriage. I do agree that for a long time, the church didn't do a good job of serving the flock. Now, times are changing; however, the Word of God is the same! This is why the Bible tells us to study to show ourselves approved. We are to seek and follow Christ not just pastors! Yes, I am a proponent of mental health. I agree that EVERYONE should focus on their mental health before they get in a relationship. Also, God allowed Solomon to have many wives and concubines but God didn't ordain or condone it because those women caused Solomon to turn away from God to worship other gods! We as human beings, are so driven by lust and our own desires that God will allow us to get or do what we want because we have free will. However, that doesn't mean that God is pleased with us or our choices!

I think that is the part that annoys me every time. Where are we asking above average earning women if they want an average earning man. No, they don't. The same way and above average earning man generally does not want an average woman. Those things are perfectly okay. But we do need to define what Anthony's version of average is.

This is a great episode. One thing I’ve learned is that it’s ok to not agree with everyone’s opinion but respect a person’s thought. When they brought up traditional vs now. At the end of the day, we are moving further and further from the word of God. We want to do everything that makes the flesh feel good. Which is natural but at the end of the day, is God pleased with our actions. There’s a difference in making a decision vs habitually choosing to do wrong. Furthermore, you have to realize, as you continue to study the word, the more you grow spiritually. Don’t fault the pastors from the past because they were only teaching based on where the world was at that given time.

Some careers have an income cap. A teacher, police officer, social worker etc..... on average they're not making 6figs but their life has purpose. Providing for me isn't buying me luxury brands- it's us working together to build our life together & him having drive & a provider mindset. There's so much more than the financial. In my opinion

yes exactly, let us place greater emphasis on character, Integrity, stewardship and leadership in a man. Not everyone has a desire to "get the bag" some people just want to be comfortable and that is okay. As Christians we are not looking for the same thing as the world. Men need to be vetted in all areas before you let them in your house, try to build them or start giving them money. The same goes for women. I was trying to find some common ground but I am not sure if they are reflective of average woman, with average desires....For me I want a husband with the values I have, money is the least. You can build together. If his character and spirit is right, then yall can reach the moon.

Doesn't this mean our list should be of character traits, not assets? A man has to have potential AND motivation. I don't care what a man makes if he has vision, is a good leader, and willing to put in the work to make the vision become a reality.

I haven’t worked in two years lol His leadership role activated when he knew he wanted to marry me and God has blessed us abundantly since he stepped in his role and I couldn’t ask for more. Women shouldn't get involved with a guy with the thought that he has "potential". He is not a Project. He should already have what you want, which will alleviate the frustration that will arise when he doesn't meet your pre- conceived expectations. Ìn my opinion, women who get with "potential" are getting involved too fast with these guys, like the woman who said that she would suggest cohabitation just because. Why? Has this man shown you that he can be relied on? This shows that the woman has the "well, I can always get rid of him" Mentality,, IMHO.

The older generation of women taught this which is why we're seeing the negative results of it now; the younger generation is waking up to NOT dating/marrying potential which is why there is a disconnect between black women/men. We're both starting to ask and demand what's needed and you have to have it coming in.

They’re cool. Seem like a fun group of ladies to have convos with. AO - we got yo back bruh. We level with you on what we want from a woman. Love. Especially after you get the houses, and you have the savings and you are investing wisely - - we just look for someone we match with. So I feel you there brother. Financially - if we’ve already built and worked on securing our legacy - we don’t really care for a woman to come in thinking she’s going to build in that area; it’s already done. So hopefully the woman would come with the mindset to build something else (not financially based). Just bring more love in.

I can relate to some of what these women are saying, however I made the decision that I will not live with a man before I marry him. Also after reading some of the comments. I think it would have been a better interview if the ladies were not talking all at the same time to hear what each one had to say. They were not as considerate of the host AO allowing him to speak and have a little more control of the conversation. It was enlightening some of the prospectives these ladies expressed.

AO so sad 😞 that black American women will not date average black American men like me who work in corporate America making 40K per year. Rather date a drug dealer making 200k per year. Going back to Kenya 🇰🇪 or Ethiopia 🇪🇹 for a wife. Average black man makes 40K. Black Woman 36k. Kevin Samuels is 💯 correct, Rest In Peace. AO ask them what do these women bring to the table? 1/4 black America women will ever marry. 75% of black American kids born out of wedlock!

Love the conversation. I do agree with the ladies when they said that lots of average men do have a huge 50/50 mindset so the woman's income is equally important as his and they want to know what you bring to the table financially. I also think that the equivalent of this conversation for men is that they have extremely high expectations of how a woman looks. Seems like most men want a female that is a 10 even if they look like a 5 or below. I also think that bc of social media men's expectation of how a woman should look is extreme and unattainable for most women. Take away the bbw, implants, weaves, lip fillers, and tummy tucks (all the things social media make appear normal) and most women feel like they cant meet men's expectations of beauty just as you feel most men cant meet those financial requirements that women have.

I watched and loved to see a group of minority women be on e one accord for the betterment of people. By the end of the show I realized that being a Bible follower and having relationships with God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit I could not agree with everything said but value everyone can still have a seat at the table.
