Mate u don't need to like it (rap). It's hit and miss, but there is no doubt eminem in his prime had the genius with him. That said, kasey killed this.
This presented as a journey. It starts with the soft plead of uncertainty highlighting a lack of confidence. Then the mood all changed to a cry of anguish and determination. Finally, after all the hard work comes tremendous acclamation and success. Unbelievable and brilliant. A deconstruction of Eminem's incredible artistry reassembled and made better. 🤩
Since I found this video a few months ago shes went from 300k views to close to 600k views. I Swear youtube suppresses this video cuz it should have 100s of millions of views.
That's incredible to see how the popularity of this video has grown since you found it! Sometimes, RU-vid's algorithms can be a bit mysterious, but it's clear that there's a strong and growing appreciation for this content. Let's hope that even more people discover and enjoy it in the future. 📈👍
I'm with you, in that I love this version rather than the original. So much emotion and goosebump moments. There is only one other cover I love more than the original, and that is Disturbed cover of Sound of Silence. Both are brilliant in delivery in a emotional stage.
Fantastic reaction and analysis! Kasey felt every word because she has lived it. Show's how good Em's lyrics are. I prefer Kasey's version too. Though Em's ifc is still legendary.
Kasey commands your attention from the first time she opens her mouth. Her voice is reminiscent of the powerful vocals of Melanie and Janis Joplin and her on-stage presence and emotion is certainly made possible because of those vocals. She has had a long and successful career in Australia, and her band members include her dad on slide guitar and brother on main guitar and backing vocals.
How does no-one ever notice that Kasey wrote the tune for this version, the original is a great work of art that stands for itself but it doesn't have any melody to speak of, it has beat and cadence but no tune that I can detect. I think that gives Kasey's achievement even more weight.
You bring up an excellent point! Kasey's ability to infuse a beautiful melody into this version truly showcases her songwriting talent. While the original may be a work of art in its own right with its unique beat and cadence, Kasey's contribution of a memorable melody adds a whole new dimension to the song! 👏
Thanks for the great reaction, a song she wrote "ain't no little girl" is also worth a watch, several versions from studio to live all worth a watch, I love them all
great reaction Lexi. Loved how Kasey slowly told Eminem's story of his early life...then hit with the emotion of it all and finally the frustrations and anger came through. She did Eminem proud by allowing us to really understand his words...
Thank you so much! Her deep understanding of the lyrics and her ability to convey the raw emotions and frustrations in Eminem's work really did justice to his storytelling. It's a testament to her skill as a reactor and her respect for the art of storytelling in music.
This is AMAZING!! I'm an Aussie country music fan and I have never, ever seen Kasey on the Banjo and singing like this!! She is a million percent getting ever better and better with age! I LOVE her! Also, I feel like there needs to be MOAR BANJO in rap songs, hell yeah! hahaha! Ok, maybe not, but this is legit awesome!
Thank you so much! Kasey's musicianship truly shines, and I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to share my thoughts on her exceptional talent. Her music is a testament to her artistry and dedication. 👏
Thank you so much for the recommendation! I'll definitely check out her performance of "Little Girl." It's always a treat to discover new music with chillingly good vocals, and I'm looking forward to experiencing more of her talent.😊
Just outstanding. Check out her live version of her song. 'Ain't no Little Girl' - live from The Bluegrass Underground. She just leaves it all out there.
This is one of the best reactions to this song I've seen. Beautifully balanced between sharing your genuine musical & technical knowledge, and your enthusiastic embrace of Kasey's passionate performance. Thanks. Instant subscribe 😊
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! It means a lot to me. I'm really passionate about creating content and sharing reactions, and I'm excited to see where this journey takes us. Your encouragement is greatly appreciated! 😊🙏🚀
Beautiful reaction Lexi i could see you reacting to the emotions throughout the song, as an old Aussie bloke who is not into rap i had to check out the original after hearing this cover some time back and i can honestly say its not up to Kasey's
congratulations lexi, for your beautiful reaction to an outstanding performer, of which there are many here in australia, i suggest trying the recently passed renee geyer doing love don't live here anymore, the kev garant guitar version
Hello my dear, Can you react to JOURNEY "mother father" or " Don't stop believin" both live in Houston 1981, 2 great live performance with insane vocals by steve Perry. Thanks 🎉🎉
If you want to see a better version of the original watch Help by John Farnham. Another Aussie. Original was the Beatles. Paul said it the way it should’ve been sung. ❤❤❤
Actually, pretty sure it was John who wrote and intended it to be a slow tune. Record executives said there were too many slow songs on the album, and wanted a fast tune.
