I have listened to probably 20 reactions to this and I still get chills 🔥 There has never been a cover of Eminem that I would listen to a second time 😊
Kasey is a country (bluegrass) singer/songwriter from Australia. She toured with her family band when she was young then branched out on her own. Apparently she’s an Eminem fan and always wanted to do a version of this song but didn’t know how to pull it off. During covid lockdown she worked on it and this is the result!
That was epic! She grabbed my heart in my chest and shook me to the core. This is a song that youll remember the moment and place it first shook ya. Eminem can't be duplicated, but this is the "only" cover that is needed. Holy dawg her voice, her passion, shook me. I had tears streaming on my face! Epic. Just epic. This is how you want art to move you.
Kasey Chambers is a great and accomplished Australian country music singer-songwriter, who hasreceived many awards and accolades for her 12 studio albums and her singles releases. This version is referred to as Rock-Ballad, a blend of country, blues and rock in it's progression.
Kasey really loved this song she sang the first two verses slower as they were in the third person, the third verse is in first person hence the voice.
Nick, best quote I've seen (from 'The Fairy Voice Mother')....."Kasey beats that banjo like it owes her money !"........her re-interpretation of Eminem's lyrics is emotional as hell.....Kasey makes us believe these are her words and her pain is real............
I've watched this a gazillion times & I feel the sobs in my chest whenever I do. She makes me proud to be Australian. Interesting that the slide guitar player is her father. I also read last week that Eminem watched this cover & gave Kasey permission to put it on her Spotify. I think it's the best cover of a masterpiece I've ever heard, except for legendary Aussie, John Farnham's cover of The Beatles Help! Watch that one Live with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. It's phenominal. It'll make your brain implode! x L.
As soon as I see a reactor reacting to this Absolute Pearler by our very own Ozzy country and Western singer. I click on it straight away coz I love seeing people blown away by this magical performance. You did not disappoint
I’m so glad to see this blowing up, she deserves it! She put 800% into this performance and it highlights just how brilliant the lyrics are. Kasey is a true blue Aussie, down to earth with a huge talent.
Wow. She ripped it up. Best cover ever. The emotion and soul in this performance made me appreciate the genius of Eminem's lyrics. Loved your reaction Nick.
Ahhhhh...Kasey Chambers! It is about time she is finally getting some recognition here in the U.S., I have been a fan of hers for 15 years now, thanks for making my day!❤
Check out Ain't No Little Girl by Kasey. She's an absolute legend down here and we're lucky enough to have been enjoying her music for quite a while now. It's great to see the rest of the world getting on board. Enjoy ✌️
As I understand it, she wrote this during lockdown in the AU pandemic. She played it for her audience. You can hear the silence as she started, a few hoots, but generally the crowd was "what is going on? I know this, but really? WTAF?" silent. She captured them all with this. The end was more electric than you can obviously hear per many fans who were there. Then after the concert, many (if not most of the ones who were there) fans wanted a video of it, but there was none, so they pestered her until she asked any fans with video footage to send it in so she could make this. They were flooded with video and here we are. LOL
Wow. Unending talent. Thanks for introducing her to me, Nick. If you want to give Kasey credit to her channel go here ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-S70xek3x4ro.html. Kasey is a well known country artist in Australia. Her father is playing slide guitar.
Welcome to another Aussie rabbit hole. Yes, Kasey is a famous Australian Country's Artist. She started in her family's Country band (Dead Ringer Band). Her dad's sitting down on stage with the slide guitar. After this performance, she reached out to her fans to send in the videos they did and they were used in this production. I personally like Kasey because she's not afraid to show her emotions in her performance. If you want to see more of her, try 'Aint no Little Girl'. As with most Australian artists, live performances will be better.
I just came across this song/video a few weeks ago and have been going down a rabbit hole of people reacting/listening to it. It's so damn good and I get so stoked whenever I see a new reaction to it pop up.
Lost count of the reactions 50+ had no idea there was so many✌This is shockingly great, in a similar way to when Disturbed covered Simon & Garfunkel Sound of Silence, though then they had people trying to cover their version. I bet no one can cover Kasey😂
@@nickforell1 My son forced me to listen to Disturbed’s Version. I finally understand to meaning of the lyrics, loved it. I’m neither a rap or country music fan, but Eminem’s lyrics are brilliant. I’m Aussie hadn’t even listened to Kasey, until I saw so many reviews, I surrendered lol. Brilliant lyrics - amazing performance by Kasey. What a fantastic combination of 2 artists genres.
Kasey Chambers is a true blue Australian 🇦🇺🇦🇺 Best cover of Lose yourself Ever! This was so Emotional,I had goosebumps the whole way through. Kasey always gives her best. Please check her out ❤❤❤
I am absolutely enamored with Kasey...she took this rap song and somehow combined it with Freebird and got this unreal result. She is like a cross between Tom Waits and Patty Smith with a little Emmylou Harris and Iggy Pop thrown in...she is amazing.
The entire performance is a work of art. From the lyrics, to the passion Kassey and her band give to the song, even the use of phone footage for the clip. Every element builds the drama. And the perfect setting for this, is the Civic Theatre in Newcastle just north of Sydney. A grand old Dame, heritage listed building. You mentioned the way she pronounced certain words, that's just our Aussie accent. G'day!
💯 I’ve binge watched over 50 reactions so far & counting, this is a Phenomenal performance, arrangement & pure interpretation - legendary & Em gave Kasey permission to release on Spotify, that says it all 👏👏👏 She is aged 46 at the time of this performance, Geez - what a freakin amazing & talented musician, artist & woman she is. The band were on fire & in synch with her energy to perfection, with her brother Nash on guitar & subtle sublime backing vocals & her Dad on the slide guitar, and dude on the keyboard “losing it” - Mind totally blown, best live “cover” ever for me ❤️
Normally I watch you reactions all the way through first, before I go to the original video, but this one struck me so hard, I had to watch hers first. NOT disappointed. Now I'll watch your reaction. Utterly enthralling performance. If I have more to say I'll edit. Hot damn.
I’m an aussie and an absolute huge fan of Eminem wasn’t a big fan of Kasey’s but it wasn’t that I didn’t like her I just didn’t like the type of music she sung at the time. Still thought she was a great singer, just didn’t like the type of music that she sung. So when I seen that she did a cover of this I thought to myself oh my goodness what is this gonna sound like. I was completely blown away every time I listen to it I get goosebumps all over my body and now in my head this is the only way I can hear it when I’m driving around or have it stuck in my head I can only hear Kasey singing now. Absolutely blown away. Goes down with covers like Johnny Cash doing Hurt, John Farnham doing Help, Jeff Buckley doing Hallelujah you get the idea. Absolutely up there with the best covers of all time. In my opinion anyway.
If it are going to cover a classic you gotta make damned sure you bring something of yourself to it. Kasey did it in spades. Fantastic performance and great reaction!
Nick, I am shookith! Literally I elevated to another level! Amazing cover and interestingly I said "f*ck yeah at the same time you did. I am sure many people did. I appreciate you covering this. I am a fan of Eminem and I would LOVE to watch him watch this performance wouldn't you?? Keep on bringing the reactions! ✌️from Texas
Very Nice Reaction! This woman is amazing! Talk about putting feeling and emotion into a song! What a performance! It sounds like you are a fan of Eminem. A couple of years ago Em produced a beat and put it on an auction site and another white rapper paid 100,000 dollars for it and made it into a thank you song to Em in the style of Em's song Stan. His name is Tom Macdonald and his song is called Dear Slim. Tom is completely independent and writes raps about the cultural and political climate in the U.S. today. Even though Tom and Em are on different ends of the political spectrum, he wrote it to thank Em for helping him through his tough times. It's an amazing song, just hope Em listened to it.
I’ve always been aware of Kasey Chambers and liked a couple of her songs but wasn’t a huge fan. I saw her live a couple of years ago at a concert with all Aussie women performers. She was the only one I wasn’t super hyped to see, but she blew me away live.
I was first exposed to Casey Chambers from a local station in Freedom, CA (near my hometown of Santa Cruz). She's a great Americana artist. I feel that as people grow older they tend to gravitate towards deeper expressions of the human experience that expresses itself so poignantly in this sort of genre. I was born in 1971 and grew up listening to heavy metal. I still love the albums I grew up with, but the newere stuff doesn't resonate with me.
What an amazing example of what it might appear and sound like if someone were to loose themselves in the music the moment they own it, without letting it go. Jesus.. She was probably the most fierce person on the damn planet for that moment she burnt into reality. Their is something about pouring your soul out in front of witnesses. The more of them noticing; the more of it flows out of you. I can only think of maybe Pearl Jam doing "Black" Live & Stevie Ray Vaughan doing Life Without You @ The Capitol Theatre That something really special was recorded that night, as being any other time that something much more than a song being played was going on. This drew me all the way in. It's almost like experiencing emotions on a collective level, that it would be impossible to go through them any other way. 3 incidents in 54 years that shook my being loose from myself to witnesses the core of another ones being as it's spilling itself out for all who care to view. While my soul is witnessing this amazing moment, my body sits still with mouth open unsure what it should be doing, you know; like an idiot. He.. he. This was amazing. I hope others had a similar feeling, as I'm not exaggerating this sense, but underselling it for lack of words to explain such a thing. It's not 'always" a struggle trying to figure people out. Every once and awhile it's the most amazing instance a human might ever have in the realm of honesty
I really enjoyed the honesty of your reaction to our Kasey. From an Australian (Tasmania), even I was a bit shocked at her performance. So so different from what I’ve experienced from her over the past 20+ years. Oh and I just subscribed to see what else ya got young man. 👏
From her stsrt in the Family Band "The Dead Ringer Band" to this amazing performance. Like many others, I (and I'm 82) blown away by her rendition of this song. Never been a rap fan really but she got me here. Just a little trivia, Her Dad is the Bloke on the electric/slide steel guitar. Thanks for the reaction. Not too much pausing thank you.
Kasey just took us all on an emotional journey, starting with telling the story, then the emotion kicks in and them POW! the anger! Eminem's lyrics (which are a horrific tale of his early life) The rawness of her performance gave me chills. Great reaction there Nick. Liked and subscribed saying Hi from Australia
I've watched a few reactions to this. It really seemed to hit for most. You can't fake the sort of reaction you had. The reactions seem to be split between "wow, she owned it" to just speechless and fumbling for words at the end.
Great reaction Nick! I think this is something that has been in Kasey's DNA that she has been waiting to let out for a long time. I think it is one of the best covers of almost any song that I have ever seen. One of my other favorites is Aurora doing Life on Mars by David Bowie. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kJ095S0MmnA.html As mesmerizing, completely different feel yet similar brilliant emotional storytelling
Fun story I use to live in a fishing town called Beachport in the state of south Australia and she use to sing sometimes for fun in the pub as a 16 yo so early 90's and the pub went quiet with amazement with every song and no stage just a mic, she has a great voice, she has certainly made the most of it.
Phenomenal. Love what she did with this. If she had better vocals, it might even be better than the original. Would love to hear Floor Jansen sing this.
Hey hey its ya goofy m8te from Australia 😆 cold chisel - [ you got nothing I want music video ] - [ cheap wine music video ] - [ Saturday night music video ] now now now go go go 😂 ya goofy m8te from Australia
