Road Trip 2021 is in the books! This year, we made a loop around the UP of Michigan. After 25 years of putting it off, we also made a stop at EAA Air Venture, or as some call it “Osh Kosh.” Before we headed out though, we made a surprise visit with two of our subscribers to check out their Little Guy teardrop camper. To round the trip out, we stopped at the Henry Ford museum. What a great week! We’re ready to go again!

I passed a whole semi truck trailer of brand new Little guy T@bs heading north crossing Ohio border to Michigan last week. That's why can't find used campers , they're all in Michigan!

I'm a commercial pilot who was watching your videos with the idea of building a tear drop myself. One of my main purposes was to pull it to Oshkosh instead of flying but still debating on that. Nice to see you enjoy Oshkosh and hope to meet you sometime!

We flew a Cessna 172 to the show in 1977 (ABIR) from Detroit, Michigan, crossing Lake Michigan at 10,000 feet AGL. The show itself was/is amazing, but for a private pilot the approach into the controlled air space, including runway pattern, landing, and ground control, was a real experience. Temporary grass air strips (in parallel) with three small planes touching down simultaneously on each strip (1st third, middle third, last third) approximately every 60 seconds. Very prestigious and competitive temporary assignment for the air traffic controllerss. Peak traffic busier than Chicago O’Hare Airport at the time. Fortunately, being based out of Detroit Metropolitan Airport, we were familiar with very busy, controlled air spaces.

Hi Michael and Jo Ann! Happy 25th Anniversary! Wow, what an adventure you two have been on! I really enjoyed this video so much… You two are such a great couple and wonderful example of teamwork! (I’m going to start using, “take one for the team.”) The Little Guy tour, the EAA Air Venture, the cheese, the Christmas shop, the Ford museum… all wrapped up in beautiful footage and wonderful conversations and commentary. Thank you for sharing this amazing road trip. ~ Maria Ps. We use our Jackery to run our fridge when we are dry camping. It’s such a great asset … and lastly, I love it when Jo Ann says, “Cheese map!” So joyfully adorable!

Awesome you missed going pass Ann Arbor , Rt 23/ I 75 was shutdown road construction at Dundee. You would lose of an hour of drive time due the f up detour I was up in Traverse city all last week work related training class

You can expand that Jackery to twice the size, buy a lithium phosphate battery with an internal BMS and hook leads into your solar plug to the battery, it's a backup for your backup :P I can remember the wiener truck running around the ST Louis metro years ago

Osh kosh is on my bucket list, as well as a ride in a sail plane. Everything is better with cheese. We have been thu the Henry Ford. You need to go back to the Ford Rouge factory your. I need to get back for Greenfield Village. Looks like you had a great time!

While you're at Oshkosh next take a look at the Cirrus Aircraft booth. I'm not sure if you're familiar with the company and how it began but it's the only personal aircraft with a parachute! It's quite a unique A/C (AND they make a personal jet also with a parachute. I know this because I work for the company. :) )

Glad y’all got to enjoy Oshkosh! Camped there with friends in 2017 had a blast. Bikes help getting around. Supposed to go with them this year, but funds weren’t there and didn’t get my trailer finished yet for the same reason. Did y’all camp? We watched most of the show while grilling burgers and hanging out at camp. Never in my life would I have thought I’d get tired of hearing a T-6 (or 30) fly by. Haha. Thanks for the ride! Always enjoy the videos! If your ever around west TN look me up, got some pretty cool stuff where the 182 sits and the bigger stuff over at work.

Hey man, just wanted to let you know that you helped convince me to start my own trailer build, the goal is to sleep three so it'll be a little different than your standard teardrop. Just be careful, more videos like this and you may convince me to build my own Zenith, since your in to aviation I'll assume you know what that means. And if you ever make it out to Oregon we have several great air museums and a great cheese factory, (one each in the town of Tillamook). Keep it up with the good content, I'm always looking for ideas.

I have a question about one of your old videos on gas struts in the Teardrop Galley- Is the galley hatch supposed to open as smooth as you show in the video that you did on the subject? I recently purchased a handcrafted Teardrop it is really pretty. But I’m having such a problem with the gas truck coming off the lower latch inside the galley. After watching your video I concluded the struts were not put on properly on my Teardrop. One of the struts are proper I’m thinking the back should open really smooth. The hatch to my trailer it’s difficult to open is though it’s stuck or has a vacuum holding it from opening could you give me a little insight on this please I am desperate for proper information.

Yes, the struts should work smoothly and not come apart. It sounds like you may need to get some new ones. I bought mine from an eBay seller and they have worked great for 3 years now.
