omg Stephanie, I recently read this like book called "Ace of Spades" by Faridah Abike-Iyimide. TW: it mentions racism, homophobia, bullying and suicide. It follows two kids, Chiamaka and Devon. Stephanie explained this movie really well but it's definitely worth watching. I really liked it. It's so rare when POC don't die in horror/thriller movies and this is one of them. The other one I know of is the remake of Prom Night. Also Stephanie would love for you to read Tender is the Flesh because it keeps getting compared to this movie but I think its more disturbing.

I just gotta say, the “dead parents” thing My best friend lost her dad when she was 9 and whenever she meets people who have lost a parent she makes that same joke “dead parents club” type thing, it sounds morbid but it’s just a way of coping I think, big sad vibes
