SHEFFIELD LABS S-9 (FULL ALBUM) LINCOLN MAYORGA AND DISTINGUISHED COLLEAGUES VOLUME 1 

Yes the photos are from my album. Actually I have two copies. One to play and one that has never been played. they are both autographed. Lincoln Mayorga did a concert at Victor Valley College in the early to mid 90's. After the concert he was signing autographs so my father and I got the albums from the car and brought them in to be signed. When we handed him the albums, he looked at them, then looked up at us and said. "Where did you get these?" It was pretty cool. I don't think there are many unplayed copies of this album out there, much less autographed. I'm very lucky to have it. How I came to get them is a whole story.......

I grew up hearing Vol. II & III, Thelma Houston and a few others because of my dad. He got Volume II in 1972 or 1973, so not long after I was born in 1971. I knew from the liner notes in II that S-9 was rare and figured I'd never see/hear a copy, let alone own one . Finally in 1999 I found a copy on eBay for sale, but gave up when bidding hit $1000. A few weeks later another one (unsealed, but in amazing condition) showed up with a starting bid of $100. I messaged the seller and offered her $400 for it. She agreed and pulled the auction. My dad bought Amanda McBroom - Growing Up in Hollywood Town ad the 1980 Chicago CES show and had Lincoln autograph it, which he still owns. I'm thinking of finding sealed copies of II, III and Thelma, and sending them, along with my S-9 to him to have him autograph. I actually sent him an email last week telling him how much I've enjoyed these albums throughout my life and he sent me a response: "Dear Brent, Thank you for the lovely email. It is so nice to hear that music we made 50 years ago is still appreciated. I am so very pleased that you are deriving so much pleasure from these recordings. Thank you, Lincoln Mayorga" I'd love to read your story of how you acquired your albums sometime.

@@garyjanezic1996 Wow, I hadn't seen that he'd passed. Earlier this year I posted on his FB page wishing him a happy birthday. It's sad that we've lost Lincoln, and a few years earlier Doug Sax. Both of them musical heroes of mine. RIP Lincoln, and Doug. :(
