I always thought only the police could ticket a car parked on the pavement as technically they aren't parked on the road and therefore they can only be given a ticket for causing an obstruction. However, I also understand the highway includes the pavement, and the double yellow lines would be applicable to both sides, so that should include the pavement. Also, you would think that the disabled drivers would be more aware of other road users, especially those in wheelchairs and people with pushchairs, and show a little more respect in the way they park. People have a strange attitude towards each other these days. Good to see you exposing this, I think the sooner they make pavement parking illegal, like in London, the better. 👍

I guess the ‘enforcement’ guys have been told which cars to allow to park illegally. Public safety and local parking regulations are obviously a ‘movable feast’ depending on who you are!

That vehicle on the island may not be blocking pedestrians or wheelchairs but what it is blocking is other road users view on the junction

I would never condone a person donning a pair of spiked running shoes and walking over the obstructions blocking a public right of way, in the same way you would a log across the path.

Keep on at this mate , I live 10 mins walk from there and it's a nightmare on match days for disabled and pushchairs . They even park blocking our drive .

Who pays for the councils,the council taxpayers. So, in that case, we own all the roads/ areas where the council thinks they own. Remember that when they want your vote.

Police can/will FPN straight away if vehicles are causing an obstruction to the public right of way, plus any disabled passer by's. Suggest they be informed and they should respond to the problem. This is also a problem that the local Council plus club should be dealing with. Ipswich had a similar problem many years ago and then did a deal with local businesses that had parking locally, this got vehicles off the highway.

The reason he left the ones with blue badges is because they're allowed 3hrs on a double yellow line. As for the bus stops they weren't sign posted so not legally enforceable and in regards to the pavement parking a Civil Enforcement Officer can't issue PCNs without the relevant street furniture (DYLs, tactile markings, kerb markings).

The double yellows are enforceable including on the pavement, but if displaying blue badge they can legally park for 3 hrs, as long as no curb markings. The rest of those parked on the pavement is not enforceable as there needs to be signage stating no parking on pavement. Any parked on dropped kerbs with tactile markings could also be issued with PCN. I believe only the police could deal with the vehicle on the island as it is causing a danger to other road users at a junction. The law is an ass, parking on pavements should be illegal blue badge or not. The club should be responsible for providing adequate parking for its supporters, for example free park and ride, it’s no good just saying it’s not our problem.

According to the highway code it is illegal to drive on the pavement it would be pretty difficult to park on the pavement without actually driving on it. There is one exception you are allowed to drive over the pavement to get onto your drive way.

If the vehicle is not obstructing the footpath the PCN has been issued illegally. They will probably also contact DVLA to discover who the registered keeper is?, if they have that is also an offence as if the vehicle is not illegally parked they have technically obtained that keepers details fraudulently. Scammers operating as parking services imo

I worked as a Civil Enforcement officer, so allow me to illuminate the "Rules" regarding Blue badges and Double yellows Firstly, Double yellow lines apply to the entire carriageway... in this instance, Carriageway Means 1. The road, 2. any verge between the road and the pathway, and 3. the pathway up to any boundary wall/fence/building ok, now that is out of the way Regarding Blue badges It is perfectly legal for a vehicle showing a valid blue badge, to park across double yellow lines for 4 hours at a time, with no return for 2 hours afterwards police, and CEO's are instructed to inspect blue badges, and if found valid from inspection are to leave the vehicle without issuing a PCN hope this clarified things, and no i don't work as a CEO anymore... it is an awful job, not only because of the rules you have to enforce on people (some of whom are innocently making mistakes) but also the grief you get from those who are blatantly skirting the rules, and causing issue for regular public...

Not sure if you picked it up on this video bud, but the traffic warden ( the driver ) not only tried to very sneakily hit you with something by flicking it over his shoulder as he was walking away, but he also committed the offence of littering and you have him on video doing so, 8:04 just as he was near the rear of his vehicle. As you now have visual proof on camera of this intended offence I hope you now report him as the council will have to fine him etc , may make for another video next time you catch up with him.

I personally would get a pram and a wheelchair and unintionally possibly damage all of the vehicles parked on the pavement and wait about to see people's faces ut obviously not with the wheelchair or pram to gauge their reaction and monitor it on match days to see if the police or club attend to monitor the problem.
