I am from Bihar , and my grandfather was surgeon and was immediately called upon after 1971 war as Bihar was nearest . He had done surgically abortion of Bangladeshi women who were raped by pak army . He said I did not but surgery for at least 2 week and the situation and number of patient were so many that United Nations had to come to look into the situation. He said he did at least 100 surgery and mostly were hindu women and some were also Muslim women . He also catered war patients also and the effect on his mindset was lifelong . He used to shout very loudly in his sleep because of the nightmares . He never spoke anything to us children no matter how much I tried to loose him up , he said little bit to his eldest son (my uncle) through whom I come to know about . The war was very much bloody , if a doctor is that much terrified and haunted then imagine what soldiers had gone through . Partition was the most unfortunate phenomena in 20th century , millions were killed in 1947 , 1965 , 1971, 1998 . Had we not divided we would have been the most strongest country in the world , all the military money would have spent on education, infrastructure. This is the crime of Jinnah , Gandhi , Nehru and most of all British who wanted to create a buffer state between Russia and soon to be Nehru’s socialist india . Read the British officers book how they divided india to contain Russia and to stop them to get access to war waters of Arabian Sea , they were the one who supported Jinnah as sole Muslim leader and promoted Nehru as a leading congress’s leader because they knew he was socialist and wouldn’t agree with Jinnah in creating 100% federal structure .
With due respect I want to tell u , while going from Natore to Singra by tom tom (horse cart) in the month of june 1971 I saw a army jawan was running after a village woman then forced her in a jute field in day light around 11am.Driver of the cart told me to look at but I told him u can't do anything because he is armed & we r without.I was looking for my father how was MNA (member national assembly)of that area. Natore was then brigade Hq. OF Pak army. May Almighty Allah forgive us all.Ameen.

@@durontooprotiroddho8316 very simple. Pakistan army was consisted by non Bengali and they committed the crackdown. So Bangladesh was occupied by Pakistan. And our cause for Pakistan was not the cause of Jinnah.

I am getting the feeling that military leaders in West Pakistan had become hopeless even before the operation even started. In their hopelessness they resorted to using force.
As a Bangladeshi, a question still arises that since the establishment of Pakistan - who is the real owner of the state of Pakistan? Pakistan's people or the Pakistani military establishment will determine the fate of Pakistan, whether Pakistan has been able to do a proper solution to this question?

Excellent vide. You are right 50% . Pakistan Government did not follow Quran and sunnah. Jamaat Islam Informed to Government, gave power to Sheikh Mujib ur Rehman , Army did not listen . Pakistan Army was responsible to separation. If Pakistan Army did not interfere regarding Election and also gave power to Sheikh Mujib ur Rehman. Nothing happened. Sheikh Mujib would be priministry of Pakistan.
Dhaka didn't fall but actually Pakistan politically and militarily both way fall down and surrender in Dhaka but Dhaka didn't. It was the rise of Dhaka.

This man said, "some funny advisors" advised Yahya to order journalists to leave East Pakistan. They were not funny they were people like him and his rank. The reason is clear that was to start the genocide which they called crack down. This man is not being honest. No army personnel is a saint neither is this man. He should know that when someone commits a crime they don't tell others. Just because he doesn't know it doesn't mean no rape took place. He contradicts himself a lot. On the one hand he acknowledges that atrocities took place and on the other hand he defends himself and the army. These people are in perpetual denial.
