The founder of SATUC - Sheikha Al-Thani for Underprivileged Children, Sheikha Al-Thani, has introduced her organization and its core projects to the members of the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) at a networking event where SATUC enjoyed an encouraging reaction for its future growth.
Sheikha’s speech took part at the ABCC headquarters in London, whereas a new member she had the opportunity to expose SATUC’s missions in favor of disadvantaged children from around the World, as well as to advance some of its plans for the near future.
During the meeting, Sheikha told how her organization was built on her belief that the younger generations have a right to a better future. Inspired by the charity work that as a young girl she saw her mother embarking on, Sheikha explained she decided to join despite the barriers of her age and background, embracing a career that so far has led her to the foundation of her own organization.
In front of a heterogeneous audience composed of politicians, analysts, consultants, bank executives, and representatives of the academic sector, the oil and travel industries, among others, Sheikha appealed to realize that it is up to each individual to assume a personal and collective responsibility to deliver the opportunities that millions of youths are in so need of.
Her personal experiences from her humanitarian work and the staggering figures about the plight of street children that she shared during her intervention created a highly positive reaction among the attendance.
Therefore, and as a result of the constructive feedback gathered and the network session that took place afterward, SATUC has opened new doors to widen its area of coverage towards further African States and the Middle East, including Palestine.
Apart from the projects she has carried out, Sheikha also grasped such an occasion to advance the most ambitious project that SATUC has managed to date, with the opening of a school for street children in Egypt.
Sheikha confirmed to the attendees that the Government has already given its initial permission and hence SATUC is currently working to make the initiative come true. It's materialization and operating system, as she exposed, will count on the generosity of SATUC’s donors, but will also be crucially able to generate a reliable income for the school by hiring out some of its facilities.
