Nice honest review. I would not be upset at all if you told me it was a Gen2 Engine. I have a Heritage “R”. I’ll never sell it. Thanks for sharing your experience. Best Regards. 🤙🤙😎🐍🐍🐍 PS: Do you do the oil priming procedure if she sits for awhile?
OH awesome car man! I woulda gone for one of those heritage if I could of found one. I dont put a whole lot of miles on her, but i make an effort not to let her sit too long. I'll start it up once or twice a month in the winter months, then in the driving seasons take it out a couple times a week.
@@AlexanderJawfox When you have a minute. Check out The Driver Mod on YT. He has the oil priming procedure on his channel. It’s really easy and you don’t dump raw fuel in the crankcase if your not going to drive her. Better to do that once a month instead of starting her if your not going to get the oil over 160.
@@AlexanderJawfox Anthony is a good guy. Tracks his GT350. And has a wealth of great info. Give him a follow. Is GT350 Guys are a tight common YT. Conner. Yellow Hammer Garage is another good guy.
The R cars will be collectible I believe.. 3300 Demons were made this year. 3000 R cars were made in 5 years. Our cars will bottom out in the next 5 years but will do well long term I believe. All that said I’m not saving the experience for the next person. Enjoy that car!!
Thank you! I’m hoping so. I know those demons are mean and fast (and way faster) just something about this car appealed to me. So I’m hoping it is some sort of collectible or something special in the future.
I picked up the car about 6 weeks ago. I’m in Quebec Canada. I assume the process is the same everywhere, I called a couple of dealers to get it inspected. Once I settled on one and it passed inspection I asked to speak with someone in the sales department about an extended warranty. Since the car passed inspection I was able to pick up a 4 year 40k warranty. 7 years was also offered but I didn’t think it was necessary.
I did something similar with my first gt350. However I couldn’t find a good extended warranty. But I wasn’t too stressed bc it was still under factory warranty and had gen 2 engine. It does give you alot more enjoyment driving this car when you have that warranty though
@@Sam_beydoun it hasn’t given me any issues at all. If you don’t want worry about oil consumption buy a 19-20 gt350 or a 16-18 with a gen 2 put in by Ford company.
Correct me if I'm wrong but, the engines fail because people don't do the items below. I bet the previous owner didn't regularly check oil levels in the R! A) Regularly check oil levels! It's a race engine. Race engines burn oil! A quart every 500-1k miles is normal! Takes seconds to check and add oil. B) People don't let the engine warm up to at least 180 degrees before hammering it. C) Change oil every 3k miles.
@@sdlausen1 I had owned it for two weeks. I had checked the oil and I do let the engine warm up. Dealer confirmed, this gen 1 engine had a fault from factory. Either way the warranty covered a replacement with gen 2. Not a single issue afterwards.
I woulda figured it was a little higher but looking at forums it appears you are correct. I think there woulda been recalls had there been higher production numbers on these cars. I’m glad they offered the gen 2 and warranty replacements for these unique engines.
