It 's humorous on TV, but if you have a real life narcissistic mother, then it is ANYTHING but humorous. Even so, you have to find humor in their insecure arrogance.
Are you talking about sheldon's mom or leonard's mom. Because they are both narcissist in their own way. One is probably a psychopath and another is a autistic religious nut.
If it counts, I always found the scenes with Leonard and his mom even just the discussions he has about her way too disturbing and infuriating to be funny. I truly couldn't get what's so funny about a terrible mother. This for me was the biggest red flag of the show.
I think she would. They were married for a long time. It’s normal and human to be irritated at your partner sometimes and say things you might not necessarily mean. I have no trouble imagining a pissed off, pregnant mary driving herself to church muttering furiously because George did something to make her angry before she left. That doesn’t mean she didn’t love or respect him. Mary’s the type of character who believes everything happens for a reason. I don’t think she’s taking a shot at George here, I think she’s genuinely telling everyone what she thinks happened to make Sheldon is so smart: She prayed out of sheer irritation at her husband, and God responded by giving her a son that would test her patience more than George ever could.
Does anyone else notice the inconsistencies in writing. Mary from “Young Sheldon” would never have referred to George as Sheldon’s “dumbass daddy”. Mary is a lot harder in TBBT
@@harrisshob5819 Sheldon walked in with Mary dressed up like a German milkmaid and thought George was cheating. He did flirt with Brenda but Mary flirted with the youth Pastor 🤷♂️ nothing came of those flirtations. George never cheated.
I get that leonards mother is a scientist and rejects all religions but i hated her for the way she treated leonard. And i hated it even more when he forgave her. All that build up of a horrible woman and their ending was so unsatisfying. Wouldve preferred it if he cut her off and said he doesnt need her negativity in his life. Im athiest myself but i definitely know who id rather have as a mother.
BECAUSE of this. If you have aweful parents usually the kids try to be the complete opposite since they know how hurtful this behaviour is from experience.
@@Zlnfgzwell Sheldon characters can be annoying sometimes. Totally agree but at the end of the show, at least the directors gave him some great changes. However Leonard mother is unbelievable.
We are laughing because it's a comedy show but if we had characters like Sheldon and Leonard's mother in real life, am sure they wouldn't have anyone else around to have "highly intellectual conversations"
Both of these women are impossible, but at least Mary shows love to Sheldon. He can be hard to love. Some parents will never be pleased like Leonard's mother. They aren't happy bc they don't want to be.
Ugh, I can't stand it, tv writers are always insulting Christians's intelligence. Christianity is not like that. Many being more educated than most people.
Interesting how the producers had to walk back so much of Georges back story and how much of a great Dad he was and conversely what a religious bigit Mary was in youg sheldon i grew slowly to dislike her.
So true. If you believe in GOD then you know once you sleep willingly with someone you are married to them FOREVER. If you sleep with someone else you are an adulterous. Till death do you part.
Both women are annoying ones are annoying Bible thumper. The other one is a science nut who treats your own child like a freaking science experience rather than actually being a decent mother and showing love to their child so yeah, both these women are both cringe and while Sheldon‘s mother is an actual decent mother she’s still the Bible thumper and still annoying but Leonard‘s mom yeah she’s just a terrible mother and should never have had kidsso who’s worse I’m gonna have to go with Leonard’s mother.
