As someone that speaks a few languages and having friends that also speak many languages, in my experience whenever I switched languages in order not to be understood by people surrounding me, they always reciprocate switching too, and vice versa
@@geromedeath7245 Originating in America in the 17th century, ubbi dubbi was popularized by the 1972-1978 PBS children's show Zoom. Google even has an English - ubbi dubbi translator.
Likely it was done intentionally to make the scene look natural. In a natural scene there's usually that one person who's not following the conversation.
Different Batman keychain. The Batman keychain with the Bitcoin was lost at the Comic Book store. Stewart then saw it was a USB device and wiped it so he could keep it.
Different ones. The keychain with the Bitcoin was a usb that he lost about 3 or 4 years before this, at least; the keychain mentioned here was just a Batman figurine keychain
No - Leonard actually lost the keychain with a USB drive at the comic book store. Stewart picked it up but never bothered to check what was on the drive - and in fact erased the drive so he could resell it (according to them there were several bitcoins worth about $5,000 each. @@1rjona
Upsets me Penny doesn’t get consequences for getting rid of Leonard’s stuff. They were important to him and he probably spent a good amount of money on them. I’d be upset if my partner secretly got rid of my old MH dolls and and webkinz. He’d be upset if I got rid of his custom funko pop for his oc and his custom dnd minis. Respect people’s interests man. Especially your partner’s.
At the end, when she completely changes his room, he starts hiding her things so I’m guessing she took the hint at some point after and they worked it out; plus, the extra room isn’t used to store his things like they thought they would so there was definitely some compromise.
To be fair, Penny wasn’t throwing Leonard’s stuff out - Howard said earlier in the episode that she was moving them into storage. I agree that she doesn’t have the right to throw anything away, but if she’s just storing them, that’s fine. She should have talked to Leonard about it first, but communication is not this couple’s strong suit. 😜
I'm watching season 1 and you're right. She used to be the typical pretty blonde woman, but by the end of the show, she was her own character with quirks and flaws, as well as an intelligence that the guys weren't too keen on
Penny when Leonard found out that Stephanie took his batsignal in season 2: Honey if this relationship is making you uncomfortable you have every right to stop it. Also Penny: Your wizard's robes are next to go.
@@RPGeek Easy there buddy, this is not simping, it's an obscure comedic callback inspired by Penny's response at 02:18 where she does some over the top gaslighting :)
They did try that and Sheldon didnt want to accept that change and runs away from home, and rides a train across the USA (this is from Season 5 i think? I forgot)
I understood the trial run had to be in a neutral area hence living in penny’s apartment, but why when the trial run ended didn’t he switch with Leonard and penny, this apartment is soo much better than penny’s apartment
Penny's appartement is smaller, the rent of sheldon's is greater. Penny in big pharma earns way more than the other three, so the couple penny+ Leonard can afford it. The big question of the beginning of Big bang theory instead would be : If two scientists of caltech need to live together because the rent is to high, how a wannabe actress part time waitress can afford alone a flat on the same level ? The original plot is pointless.
I hate that Penny threw away most of Leonard's collections and she didn't even care about how much money and time he spent on it. She has many shoes, toys and doubts, she is the last person to judge or try to change how Leonard is. I really hate her. Despite Leonard doesn't get so angry.
@@amyjordan195 She still hides his stuff and lies about it. Disgusting. She doesn't get to do that. Leonard really did deserve SO much better. The fact that he can overlook her BS with a simple apology... and she doesn't even do that... it's ridiculous.
@@OrderOfMagnitude1 agreed, penny didn't have the right to do that, even if she had a good argument to do so, or that she was his wife, that was his stuff anyways and was important for him
Yeah, but let's face it, all the people on this show are pretty shit humans and partners at times, depending on the episode. Penny definitely got progressively meaner, but in general, I'd argue she was actually more supportive of Leonard's interests than he was of hers. She watched Star Wars and Star Trek with him enough to eventually be able to name characters and quote lines, she bought him a limited edition toy, she dressed up as characters in bed, she was going to go to ComicCon even though she didn't want to, she arranged for Bill Gates to Skype him when he was too "sick" to go meet one of his idols, she tried reading comic books. In comparison, you hardly ever saw Leonard doing much that Penny enjoyed; I'm pretty sure he just referred to it as "dumb girly stuff" in an episode, and repeatedly indirectly told her she was a bad actor, which even if true, isn't exactly supportive of your partner's biggest dream. It really just depended on the writing from episode to episode; all of them basically took it in turns to be shit.
@Matthew Jones what he does with his property is his decision. You don't get to throw away someone else's property just because you don't like it. And since when is collecting childish? How about stamp collections? about coin collections? Are those childish because your collecting something? It doesn't matter what it is as long it's what makes you happy.
@@dragon22214 This is the worst take I have read in a while. What Penny did was horrible and if it were me our relationship would have ended right there. If she really didn't like all of his geeky stuff than she could have talked to him about it. I mean this is Leonard we are talking about, he would have totally caved to Penny's demands but at least they would have talk like adults. I use to love Penny character but as their relationship grew so did Penny's toxicity.
Bernadette is the one to be blamed for the whole conflict 1)She Blabbed to Leonard and Penny about Amy's apartment 2)She Also Blabbed to Howard about Penny hiding Leonard's things .... Howard was true and funny 😆 😂at the same time when he referred to her as Blaby
If it were Leonard systematically getting rid of Penny's things you'd call him abusive and controlling. But since it's the woman being abusive and controlling, she "is king"
Nah. If my gf was hiding all my stuff without my consent then she’s out the door immediately. This was one of the many examples tbh why Penny and Leonard were never a good couple. They have nothing in common, have had countless couple drama, Penny becoming more like this in the later seasons, Leonard never getting a backbone and defending himself, he would’ve been better with Alex or the comic girl from the one Halloween episode
How is she blaming? She's just asking her friend(bernadette) why she couldn't keep a secret. If your friend let your secret out wouldn't you be mad at them. It seems as though you are desperately finding things to hate amy.😂
I hate how Penny never really let Leonard be a nerd and I mean that she never really let him be him with the need stuff like she had moments but it seemed more like she was embarrassed by it even at the end
Why did Sheldon has to leave the bigger apartment? His spot is there, it was his apartment initially... The fact that he would sleep at Penny's open house room has already quite an achievement..
I'm a little lost here. Someone please explain to me why Penny would think it's okay to hide/get rid Leonard's belongings. Sounds like a toxic relationship on Penny's part to me.
It's not often that I got mad at Penny but she really annoyed me there. I mean it's the same girl who back in the day told Leonard that " it's the things he likes that make him who he is", the same girl who got Leonard and Sheldon the Star Trek toy thing ( can't remember the name) because she knew what that kind of stuff meant to them.... Now she gets rid of his stuff behind his back?! Rather shady. A bit like when Bernie got rid of Howard's Tardis. I hope that Sheldon got his room for his trains at some point
@@nelcomargaming6612No. It’s not. At least it shouldn’t be. If you’re dating women who do that, you’re dating pretty toxic women. You should see better people.
Technically specking Sheldon has been living in that apartment for years now and i kinda think that he had a right to his own bedroon in that apartment
I think that they mainly got married cuz Leonard was in love with Penny and Penny figured that the best guy to marry was someone who'd mostly give in when she wants something. Being raised by Beverly and living with Sheldon pretty much groomed Leonard into being her perfect doormat.
Excuse me but is the batman keychain referred to here, the one holding all the bit coin? Because if it is, that means that Penny may have dropped it on the comic book store on purpose.
Penny really triggered me with this segment, hiding her boyfriends things just shows she isn't comfortable with his personality and shows no remorse for her actions
And this scene forever proves that Penny is the worst character in this show. Not only is she massively ungrateful and manipulative but her audacity to say “your wizard robes are next to go” really pisses me off. If my partner did that (she wouldn’t anyway as she’s mature and a nerd too) then she’d be next to go. Also, Bernadette has no right to be mad at Howard as she told him anyway when Penny clearly didn’t want anything to be said
I was impressed that the performers earned enough of Klingon and the other language. Do you actually use it in the scene. That was quite an achievement had to have taken quite a bit of study on their part.
1:24 ZOOM!!!!! I loved that language. And for those that don’t know how Ubbie Dubbie works, you basically have a word and you put UB before the first vowel in the word. So cat becomes Cubat Hear becomes hubear and so on
I play this episode all the time. I never got on board with how intolerable the girls were about Klingon. It's so funny they all know how to speak it..Kaley puts forth these facial expressions not seen in any other episode. The wet wall part is just as funny.
